Michael K. Wiliams Cut From Whatever We're Going To Call The Han Solo Movie
Am I the only person starting to wish a week could go by without hearing bad news from the upcoming Han Solo movie? And while I'm asking questions, why do we still not know what this thing is called? It's a mess, & this bit is just another example of such. In a Deadline exclusive Michael Kenneth Williams (The Night Of, The Wire) has now had his role cut from the upcoming stand-alone. With Ron Howard doing extensive reshoots, he needed Williams to come back. However, Williams schedule will not allow any leeway until the end of November. Considering this would push back the release date they had to, in his words, "...clip-clip-clip". He was to play a half-human, half-animal character he described as a "kick-ass character". I'm not going to jump to conclusions, but this whole movie is starting to feel forced. Almost to the extent of stubbornly. I'm going to trust the decision for now as it could be a small, insignificant part, that's easily cut out & replaced. It's a shame, I enjoy Michael K. Williams in everything he pops up in. This whole ordeal that is the untitled Han Solo, is starting to really warrant a movie about the making of the movie though. Michael seemed like there wasn't any bad blood & even mentioned he doesn't think his not being in the Star Wars family is final. We'll still have to wait until May 25th, 2018 to see if this ting can be put back together. Until then what do y'all think? Is this thing starting to look like Humpty Dumpty? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
