I had been hearing about this bench for a couple days, but everything I tried to watch this video on seemed to have other ideas. Finally, I got to see "the magic bench". I must say, I was very impressed by this little contraption. It's a bench, in front of a screen, riddled with speakers & actuators. Two motion cameras, way above my realm of understanding, project you on the screen with 3D characters & environments. Meanwhile, the speakers & actuators under the bench simulate the sound & feel of the characters & environments, pulling in all of your senses. This video gets real technical, but it's definitely worth checking out. The 3D characters are cool, but I'm more interested in the environments. The rain & being underwater for instance. I really want to see how this works. These folks seem to really feel this stuff. This tech could be used in so many ways around the parks. I can't wait to see what they'll ultimately do with this.
