Alright y'all, first contest ever for Snipes-N-Snarfblatts! I made a shirt for the premier of Black Panther to wear to the film & for the review video. I usually make two just in case one goes wrong. However, this time I got it right on the first try. Leaving me with an extra shirt to give away to y'all. It's an XL grey shirt featuring the cover of Fantastic Four #52, the first appearance of Black Panther. All you have to do is like, share, & comment on this post & March 17th, one month from today, I will pick a random winner, & reply to the winning comment where to send your info. Unfortunately, this first contest is lower 48 United States only. Gotta figure this whole thing out first, & little by little I'll expand the range.
Check Out This Whole Action Piece From "Black Panther"
I think the biggest thing I'm impressed with so far is how there's been so many trailers for Black Panther, but we still haven't seen much. Each trailer just built on the scenes shown in the previous. Now with the World Premiere of the film out of the way they give us this whole scene taking place in what use to be a casino until they get ahold of it. This action is tight as the whole place erupts into battle. In fact, it makes me wonder who's more of a threat here, Panther or his bodyguard? That staff she carries just jumped onto my want list for the year. If this is the norm for what to expect, this film is going to be way more than a placeholder for the next Avengers . My tickets are burning a hole in my pocket, & I can't wait to see this. What do y'all think? Awesome film coming or placeholder for the next? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Women Of Wakanda Are Totally B@D@SS!!
These past two spots for Marvel's upcoming Black Panther showcase the women of Wakanda. As much as that sounds like a new wrestling organization, it's the women Black Panther keeps around him as bodyguards. These really get into what they are beyond that. Seeing them fight though, you'd almost want to take your chances with the Panther. The closer this film gets the more excited I find myself getting for it. It's already broke Marvel records for presales. I'm ready to see if Marvel can do it with another obscure character. I still can't get over the fact we live in a world where we can watch Captain America, Thor, & Iron Man. Much less Ant-man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, & now, Black Panther. If you'd have said this would happen to me as a kid, I'd say you were crazy & that no one in their right mind would green light a bunch of unknown characters. Here we are though, virtually everyone is a comic nerd like myself now, & we are all getting treated to these amazing stories that have been fine tuned over years. I digress though, this is about these badass women of Wakanda. I can't wait to see them in action. I can't help but think they will provide us with some of the best action throughout the film for that matter. What do y'all think though? Got your tickets yet? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
New TV Spot For "Black Panther" Announcing Tickets Have Gone On Sale
The marketing for Marvel's upcoming Black Panther has seemed to hit overdrive as the February 16th release date keeps inching closer. I'm loving how they're doing it though. Out of all the trailers for this movie, instead of giving us brand new stuff, they build on the stuff we've already seen. To me this is the best way to do this long term marketing, because you don't give a lot if your film away in the previews. It's cool, you see some new stuff, but you don't damage anymore scenes. This movie looks amazing too. Put this new trailer with the others, & I really get a feeling this is going to be so something unique & really special in the MCU. With every trailer so far, my anticipation for this film rises. What do y'all think though? Rushing out for your tickets? Put it in the comments, like, &, share.
Make Sure To Get Your Free "Black Panther" Comic
Last night EW reported Marvel was going to be giving away a free Black Panther Comic in Jan 31st to get ready for the film's release on Feb 16th. Titled Start Here, this will be a collection of Panther stories throughout the years to help familiarize yourself with with the hero of Wakanda. I know I'll be picking up one. Make sure to hit up your local comicstore & get yours.
"Black Panther" Featurette & Kendrick Lamar To Produce Soundtrack
Marvel released this featurette last night giving a little background on Black Panther. Not so much the character himself, but more of a little history on his creation by Lee & Kirby. You can tell Stan is pretty excited about this one when he talks about it. They're really staying vague on any real details, leaving me to believe we're going to get an awesome origin story out of this one. This also came with me hearing from Collided that Kendrick Lamar will be working with Anthony Tiffith in producing Black Panther: The Album, Marvel's first all original album. Not sure what to think there. Sounds like they're going to go for a current soundtrack, which in all honesty could be a little jarring for the film in my opinion. Current music, a lot of the times, can be distracting, it has worked before though. What do y'all think? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
International Trailer For "Black Panther" Showcases Wakandan Technology
This new international spot for Marvel' s upcoming Black Panther shows some new shots involving Wakanda & the nation's technology. Along with some details on the new suit, this is really the stuff that excites me about Black Panther. I love all the alien & advanced tech Wakanda is known for, or not known as they allow no outsiders. I wish I knew what the voiceover was saying, this has been my favorite look at this film so far. Like I said though, when it comes to Black Panther, my favorite aspect is Wakanda & it's tech. This is the first time I noticed Klaw use his new arm as well. It might have been in other previews, but I didn't remember seeing it when it popped up here. He's a villain of greed, which usually makes for a very believable antagonist usually. I'm still a little thrown off by Michael B Jordan though. I feel like I keep going back & forth with every preview on whether he's going to work. I like him, when he's on, he's on. I just can't get a grip from the trailers so far if he's on or off this time around. What did y'all think of thus international trailer though? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
New Issue Of Entertainment Weekly Shines Some Light On "Black Panther"
EW had an exclusive set visit to Wakanda, getting to check out Marvel's February 16, 2018 slatedBlack Panther. Starring Chadwick Boseman as the title character, along with Andy Serkis (Ulysses Klaue), Michael B. Jordan (Killmonger), & Lupita Nyong'o (Nakia) this film will be directed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed). I get asked a lot about how T'Challa stood toe to toe with Winter Soldier without his suit. My Panther knowledge is slim so I never had an answer. Now however, this article has enlightened me. Not only is the closed to all outsiders Wakanda the only place to find the unbreakable vibranium, I've now learned they grow a heart-shaped herb. This heart-shaped herb gives the land's leaders superhuman strength. They give some background on the characters as well. Nakia is a "covert agent whose job is to stifle word of Wakanda's secrets, hunting down its enemies with deadly force". Now I really do want to see her & Black Widow go at it. They also shed some light on the villains of the film. Killmonger is a dissident from the country. An aspiring prince who, to bring the king of his throne, finds himself in league with outsider & vibranium poacher Ulysses Klaue. You'll remember him losing his arm in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He's now replaced it with sonic mining equipment stolen from Wakanda. They say his real threat, however, lies in what he could tell the outside world about the nation's secrets. I was already pretty excited for this film. The trailer was awesome. This though? This has my excitement peaked. This sounds interesting without even factoring in the whole superhero aspect. Not to mention there's a bunch of pictures with this article. I put a couple with the cover down below. You get an awesome whole family shot, as well as, the first shot of Micheal B. Jordan that I've seen so far that didn't make me think, "Hey, that's Creed." Which so far was the only worry I had about this film so far. What do y'all think of all this though? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Marvel's Looking Like They're Going to Do It Again With "Black Panther" Teaser Trailer & Poster
Marvel Studios released their first Black Panther trailer & poster yesterday, & I'm beginning to think Marvel can do no wrong. This looks really good. I mean, look at Chadwick Boseman in that poster down there. He's got regal written all over him. Andy Serkis looks amazing reprising his role as Ulysses Klaue. We get a look at Martin Freeman's Everett K. Ross & Lupita Nyong'o's Nakia. Wakanda looks great, with it's mix of "tribal" Africa & the hidden "science fiction" Africa of Wakanda. As a teaser this is awesome. I can't wait to get a full trailer so we can get some a couple story nuggets to go with these visuals. I don't know much about Black Panther except the basics, & I usually don't get to say that much when it comes to these Marvel movies. So I'm a little more excited than usual for this one, as I don't really have a clue as to what's going to happen. Other than the obvious someone wants Wakanda's vibranium. The only worry I have so far going in is every time I saw Michael B. Jordan in the trailer I couldn't help but think, hey it's Apollo Creed's son. So if anything I hope as we get into the film I can put that thought aside, & get into this new character. Can't wait for more, but even more importantly what do y'all think of not only this trailer, but the poster too? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.
D23 Expo Announces Big Marvel Presence
D23 have now announced the Marvel presence at this years D23 Expo. These additions have added to my want for them to stream this as they did Star Wars Celebration earlier this year. Friday, July 14 at 1:15 in the D23 Expo Arena Cup o' Joe will take place. In which, Joe Quesada, Chief Creative Officer of Marvel, will hold what they're calling a "no-holds-barred panel on everything Marvel." Later at 6 p.m. on Stage 28, Marvel Animation will host a panel with special guests, exclusive footage, & announcements regarding their future. There will also be a Pavilion containing some costumes from Thor: Ragnarok & Black Panther, multiple giveaways, events, & the chance to meet Marvel Studios' filmmakers, development team, & talent. In addition to all this, for the first time D23 Expo will have a Marvel Games Pavilion. Where you can get a chance to experience new console & mobile games. Among these will be LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Action-RPG/MMO Marvel Heroes Omega, MARVEL: Future Fight, & Marvel Puzzle Quest. Once again, I really hope they stream this thing. It sounds absolutely thrilling. Definitely looking forward to Cup o' Joe more than anything out of this. The no-holds-barred part intrigues me. What gets y'all goin about this announcement? Let us know in the comments below.
Marvel Next Three Movies Have A Synopses
According to Superpoweredfancast.com, Marvel has released the synopses for their next three upcoming films. Here they go:
Thor: Ragnarok (Nov. 3, 2017) - Thor’s world is about to explode in Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok. His devious brother, Loki, has taken over Asgard, the powerful Hela has emerged to steal the throne for herself and Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe. To escape captivity and save his home from imminent destruction, Thor must first win a deadly alien contest by defeating his former ally and fellow Avenger… The Incredible Hulk!
Black Panther (Feb. 16, 2018) - After the events of Captain America: Civil War, King T’Challa returns home to the reclusive, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to serve as his country’s new leader. However, T’Challa soon finds that he is challenged for the throne from factions within his own country. When two foes conspire to destroy Wakanda, the hero known as Black Panther must team up with C.I.A. agent Everett K. Ross and members of the Dora Milaje, Wakandan special forces, to prevent Wakanda from being dragged into a world war.
Avengers: Infinity War (May 4, 2018) - As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.
Not to much to make a big deal about here as they all seem pretty par for the course if you've been keeping up with the MCU. The Thor trailer gives us basically what we got out of the teaser, while Infinity War basically sums up the path we've been going down. Out of the three, I probably feel like I actually learned something from The Black Panther. That's probably because this is the only one that is a "first" movie, & we don't really know much about T'Challa, save the taste we got in Civil War. Any thoughts on these synopses? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.
