Not sure what to think of this one. With no comment from Marvel or Disney, in a Variety exclusive, early development has begun on a number of Marvel limited series. While name dropping Loki & Scarlet Witch, the article points to Marvel looking at a cast of second tier (no standalone movie) MCU characters for 6 to 8 episode series for their streaming service coming next year. This is where it gets crazy. Apparently the actors from the MCU such as, Tom Hiddleston & Elizabeth Olsen are expected to portray their roles for these series, with Kevin Feige being hands on as well. The budgets, along with anything else really were kept quiet, but if all this is real, the figure must be astronomical for a series. Disney is showing a lot of determination/throwing in tons of money in getting this streaming service to work, & do so as fast as possible. If this is true? They've got my money that they've already had that much more so. This sounds amazing! If this is true, they're finding a way to really make the MCU feel like comic books themselves. Some stories are miniseries, some one shots, & I can't wait to soak up everything i can. So for now let's act like this is happening for sure, & let me know what you think? Are we down for some MCU B-sides? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Are You Not Excited For Marvel's Runaways Yet? Have You Seen This Trailer?
Marvel's Runaways is set to hit HULU on November 21st, & I can't wait after this preview. Here you get a small taste of the groups power set, & holy crap someone is going to turn into a dinosaur! I'm so in for this show, I wouldn't be surprised if I watched the whole thing in a couple days. Watch out Netflix, because this show looks all kind of awesome without the grittiness of the Netflix lineup. Not that that's a good or bad thing, I love the Netflix shows, but I'm betting this will open up the series to a wider array of younger fans. Anyway, I can't wait for this show to start. If you're on the other side of that coin, watch this preview & then let me know what you think. Put it in the comments, like, & share.
First Good Look At "Marvel's Runaways" Series For Hulu
I'm really excited for this one. I read some of the first couple issues of Runaways, but I actually cared more about these characters following some of them in a series called Murderworld. It was a kind of Battle Royale, Hunger Games thing where the contestants of the game had to kill each other off to be the last. After getting closer with some of the Runaways kids, I've wanted to dive back into the Runaways comics. Once this was announced I put those plans on further hiatus. Glad too, Entertainment Weekly put up these awesome exclusive first look pics, & I can't wait to see this series. The premise is amazing, some kids find out their parents are actually supervillains in some "League of Supervillains" known as the Pride. I've got the pic of the kids with the parents underneath down there, & under that is the kids one by one. First there's the parents played by Brigid Branagh (Stacey Yorkes), Kevin Weisman (Dale Yorkes), James Marsters (Victor Stein), Ryan Sands (Geoffery Wilder), Ever Carradine (Janet Stein), Angel Parker (Catherine Wilder), Annie Wersching (Leslie Dean), James Yaegashi (Robert Minoru) & Brittany Ishibashi ( Tina Minoru). Then you've got the kids which I'll list in the order they're pictured from left to right. The pictures really sum up the attitudes of them. The kids are played by Gregg Sulkin (Chase Stein), Lyrica Okano (Nico Minoru), Virginia Gardner (Karolina Dean), Rhenzy Feliz (Alex Wilder), Ariela Barer (Gert Yorkes), & Allegra Acosta (Molly Hernandez). My main question after seeing these pics is how the hell did Inhumans miss the mark so badly? These come off looking like movie quality & Inhumans played in a friggin' IMAX. Anyway, Nov. 21, count me in. If you don't have Hulu now might be the time. What do y'all think though? Do these pictures interest you at all? Does this storyline of kids vs. supervillain parents do it for you? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
