Disneyland Gives A Glimpse Into The Opening Of "Pixar Pier"

Disneyland's California Adventure officially opened their newly revamped Pixar Pier  last weekend. I didn't figure we'd have to wait until last night for some video footage though. Finally arriving, you get to see the ribbon cutting, some Incredibles meet n greets, the Incredicoaster, & all the new places to eat, along with some carney games as well. Out of everything, I have to say, I'm still blown away by the style of the new food spots. This is probably my favorite part of all of the revamped Pixar Pier . Unfortunately,  I haven't heard great things about the actual food. Hearing the fried chicken is a total no-go hurt me a bit. Especially since you order it out of a giant happy meal shaped building. The Incredicoaster redo is pretty cool. I like the new effects, but wonder if fans think it's enough change. As of right now, I look at everything, & am not surprised there's more to come. This is a vast improvement from what was there, but all in all, it's just a fancy reskinning right now. Hopefully some new innovations occur here before I get a chance to check it out. As of right now, Pixar Pier  is a beautiful yet unfinished idea. What do y'all think though? Is there enough changes here to be new? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Pixar Pier Opens Today, With More To Come!!

Today marks the opening day of Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure park. It'll feature the newly themed Incredicoaster, Pixar Pal-Around, the Lamplight Lounge, awesome new food locations, merch, & more. All that crammed into four "neighborhoods": Incredibles Park, Toy Story Boardwalk, Pixar Promenade, & Inside Out Headquarters. Yesterday however, Disney Blog wanted to make sure we knew there was even more to come. The Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind will be debuting in 2019. From the concept art it looks like a cross between the Dumbo ride & those swings on chain ride at most carnivals. Beautiful setup though, judging from the concept art. They also announced the 2019 addition of classic boardwalk carousel themed, Jessie's Critter Carousel . Which will take its inspiration from Jessie's wilderness friends in Woody's Round-Up  from Toy Story 2 . I'm definitely more a fan of the Emotional Whirlwind on paper. As honestly the carousel is pretty standard. Luckily, all these major additions at all the parks around the world are giving me some extra time to figure out some fundings. I'm gonna need it if I ever want to really see this stuff. Disney Parks is doing big things everywhere right now. Looking forward to these additions, as well as some looks at this new Pixar Pier, opening today. What do y'all think of these attractions to come? Emotional Whirlwind or Jessie's Critters ? Concept Art For Incredicoaster Proves You Can Theme A Rollercoaster

This is so freakin' cool. When I first heard the concept for Disney California Adventure's re-tooled Incredicoaster opening June 23rd with PIXAR Pier, I couldn't figure out how you would theme a rollercoaster with that open, classic design? Then Marla Jo Fisher wrote this awesome article for the Orange County Register with these shots of concept art that is detailing just that. The article lays out the whole story for the upcoming attraction's update, & it looks incredible. The beauty of the theming is it all takes place on a rollercoaster. Apparently Jack Jack is too small to ride, & gets sent to the VIP Lounge. Obviously not happy about it, he uses his powers to escape, taking his own path through the coaster. Giving us the theme of save baby Jack Jack. Then the speed launch will shoot the 24 passenger cars from zero to 55mph in four seconds. Following that, you'll race through 3 updated, inclosed "scream tunnels". One going up, one at the top split between up & down, & the last going down. I collaged the pics of concept art at the bottom, & from what I can tell, it looks like this is going to be done with projection tech, like what they use on the castles for their new shows. That parts just me guessing though. Through this you get Dash showing off his speed in tunnel one, Elastigirl stretching through the upside of tunnel two with Mr. Incredible resorting to cookie bribery on the downside, & ending with an awesome looking shot of Violet's forcefield in the final tunnel. All this to save a runaway Jack Jack. I never thought this would look so cool. Like I said, I never dreamed this level of theming could be on an open coaster. When I say open, by the way, I mean that it's not surrounded by theming, a la Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain, or the Mine Train. This first look is not only incredible, it gets me all kind of excited for what to expect from the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster coming to Epcot in a couple years. What do y'all think though? Did you think this level of storytelling could be achieved where none use to exist? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Disney Releases Concepts For "PIXAR Pier" Eateries

These are hands down the coolest eateries I've ever seen. I want something from every one of 'em. Straigjt from WDW News Today, June 23rd these awesome food stands will open with PIXAR Pier in Disney California Adventure. My favorite has to be the Poultry Palace. Who doesn't want to order food from a giant kid's meal box? There's even a tiny Zurg outside. A lemon snow cone will be one of the frozen treats at Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats so you can eat the yellow snow. Angry Dogs will feature Anger from Inside Out , & give the ability to add some spice to your hot dogs. And last but not least, it wouldn't be Disney without churros. Here you'll get your fix at Senor Buzz Churros, a stand inspired by Buzz Lightyear's Spanish function from Toy Story 3 . It'll probably be a while before I can make it out to the other coast for some Disneyland action. Better believe when I do though, I'll be hitting all of these. What do y'all think of these concepts? Should all kiosks now be shaped like kid's meals? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Imagineers Give A Look At The Incredicoaster

This video gives a look at something I'm not sure I'd be capable of. It shows some of the major thought going into converting the coaster at Disney California Adventure into the Incredicoaster for Pixar Pier. They want the coaster to tell a story, which considering it's a high speed roller coaster, would prove quite the challenge.  From the looks of this they're pulling it off, & then some. If I was on the right coast, I'd rush out for a before & after. I can't wait to get a glimpse of the finished coaster. What do y'all think?  Are y'all excited about the changes? Disney Releases Pics Of Working Model Of Updates Pixar Pier Coming To Disney's California Adventure In Summer 2018

These are some photos released the imagineers are using to develop Pixar Pier coming to Disney's California Adventure in the summer. With new themed food, attractions, & merchandise, this new spot will introduce new neighborhoods representing Pixar. The coaster will be rebranded The Incredicoaster, after the Incredibles, complete with a Parr family home inspired loading area. Other changes include Pixar theming the games, as well as the 24 gondola on what is now Mickey's fun wheel. Which will feature different pairs of Pixar pals on each one. All during Pixar Fest! I love that this park is getting some proper theming. I've never been so I don't have much to go off, but these changes have interested me in Disney's California Adventure park for the first time in ever. I can't wait to get a look at the finished product. What do y'all think of these changes? Much needed? Or did I have to see it to know? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
