Lucasfilm Announces Release Dates For "Star Wars: Episode IX" & "Indiana Jones 5"

Though we don't know officially what these movies will be called, Walt Disney Company & Lucasfilm announced the dates for Star Wars: Episode IX (insert surname here) & the next Indiana Jones & the (something, something inserted here). Episode IX will be leaving the holiday season & going for a May 24, 2019 release date & will end the current trilogy with Colin Trevorrow directing. On the Indiana Jones front, both director Steven Spielberg & star Harrison Ford will return on July 10, 2020 for the fifth time around. Having a date just makes it that much more real. Now I can't wait for that surname, but even more so for that something, something inserted here. Not because I love Indiana Jones more than Star Wars, but because that will give some insight into what Indy will be doing this time around.

Star Wars Ladies Get a New Series

Lucasfilm & Disney announced a new series of animated shorts accompanied by a Hasbro toyline that's gonna be all about the ladies. That's right girls, for the few remaining females left that say Star Wars is a guy thing, I have your rebuttal. Star Wars: Forces of Destiny will feature Rey, Jyn Erso, Princess Leia, Sabine Wren, Ahsoka Tano, & Maz Kanata. Did I mention the cast? These aren't going to be voice actors. Daisy Ridley, Felicity Jones, Tiya Sircar, Ashley Eckstein, & Lupita Nyong'o will lend their talents to help bring these characters to life. According to Collider, this series of mini-episodes will start in July on Disney YouTube followed by a two part special with eight episodes on Disney Channel in the Fall. Followed by toys, books, apparel, & bedding, this thing sounds like it's gonna be a powerhouse & usher in a new generation of young Star Wars fans. If it's anything like Clone Wars & Rebels it will also be highly appealing to the older generation of fans as well. Here's the first look.

Star Wars 8 & 9 on Familiar Ground?

Wochit Entertainment is saying sources in Lucasfilm have told them that Tattoine, Mustafar, & Endor will pop up each in 1 or both of the upcoming Star Wars sequels completing this new trilogy started with "The Force Awakens". We all know how Skywalkers feel about sand, & I know y'all can't wait for another dose of cuddly warrior bears. Mustafar seems risky though knowing how much everyone just adores the prequels & everything associated with them... However, the Force is strong with the folks over at Lucasfilm right now. They pulled off "Rouge One", & most people already knew the ending going in just to deductive reasoning. Most intriguing though, is wondering what these places look like 20+ or more years later?
