All four parks at the Walt Disney Resort are taking part in what they're calling Incredible Summer . Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, & Frozone of the Incredibles will be taking over Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom. They will also be joined by superhero costume designer Edna Mode in her debut appearance. If that's not enough each night will feature a "SUPER" dance party on the Rocket Tower Stage. Is it bad that I'm probably going to make my way here just to get a pic with Edna Mode? Epcot's getting ready for their future with StarLord & Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy will join an extraterrestrial band jamming out to hits from my personal favorite soundtracks ever put together, Awesome Mix Tapes 1 & 2 . Meanwhile, over at Animal Kingdom they'll be celebrating their 20th anniversary. They'll be debuting a new bird show featuring Russell & Dug from UP! , titled Adventurers Meet UP! A Great Bird Adventure. I'll be honest, I usually skipped the previous bird show, & thus one will probably suffer the same fate. I will however, check out a "dino-tastic" celebration withb Donald Duck taking over Dinoland, U.S.A. in a new character celebration. Disney Springs AMC will feature Incredibles 2 starting June 15th, but it all really caps off with the Grand Opening of Toy Story Land in Disney's Hollywood Studios. All this set to begin May 25th, 2018. I will so be there for Toy Story Land's opening. Needless to say, details will come. What do y'all think though? Does this sound like it lives up to the name? "Stitch's Great Escape" Gets Put On Life Support While The "Children Centers" Close
Stitch's Great Escape, formally Extraterrorestial Encounter is becoming the attraction that refuses to die. WDW News Today just updated that despite previous documents stating otherwise, Stitch's Great Escape will still be operating seasonally. They then mention rumors that this is just to facilitate an upcoming refurbishment to Tomorrowland Speedway, but who knows? Funny thing is, even cast members were addressing January 6th as the final day! I just rode it myself for what I thought would be the last time, & if this thing stays, it needs some serious reimagining. The beginning works, but once you get on the actual attraction, it's all over the place. Parts are fun, while some still stayed terrifying. My daughter loves Stitch & just didn't know what to think. It's a shame, the things I've seen them pull off, I think this is still salvageable. On another note though all the Walt Disney World Resort Child Activity Centers are closing as of July 31st. There's one at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, The Polynesian, & The Yacht & Beach Club. They're kid centers you can drop your kids off at, & apparently I'm not the only parent that hasn't checked this out. The closure is due to lack of interest. Which I'm sure it's the coolest Activity Center on the planet, but come on, you're at Disney World. Doesn't take a genius to figure out why this could get skipped over I would think. What do y'all think though? Stitch celebration? Will you miss the activity centers? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
We Were There!! Disney Parks Live Streams "Fantasy In The Sky" For New Years Eve, Magic Kingdom
We brought the New Year in right for 2018. We spent the whole day in Disney's Magic Kingdom. The park was at capacity by about 11! I've never got to spend New Year's Eve with that many people, most of which in great spirits for the holiday. The most crazy part is we actually still had a pretty eventful day. On a day I thought we'd be at the mercy of just our fast passes, there was so much going on we was able to do things we've never done. (Like finally take lantern pics.) The fireworks show was probably the most amazing display of pyrotechnics I've ever seen, the two dance parties were total fun, & they not only throw in the Christmas Party parades, they supplied hats & horns. It is the greatest New Year's Eve I've ever spent, & I got to spend it with my family, making it that much better. Hope y'all had a great New Year Eve experience as well. Can't wait to see what happens in 2018!
Disneyworld Tidbits: Tiger Cubs, Random Millennium Falcon Pic, & Stitch's Last Ride
The past couple of days have had some major little things pop of at Disneyworld that are at least worth a mention. There's the tiger cubs, Jeda & Anala, now able to be seen on the Maharajah Jungle Trek in the Animal Kingdom. These endangered cuties are just friggin' adorable...
Then there's this random pic of somewhere in the Millenium Falcon attraction coming to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Hollywood Studios. I'm not really sure what to make of it without knowing what exactly I'm looking at. Best guess, it's part of the queue? It's a picture though, & it's inside of something Millenium Falconey....
Last but not least there's the matter of Stitch's Great Escape. It's starting to really look like this is going to be the last season the attraction opens. December 23rd through January 6th will be the last run of this cursed attraction. I'll be down there for New Year's so I will get to ride this one more time. I hope my daughter's big enough, Stitch is her favorite. I don't remember having fond memories of this ride, as there's not much to it. I never got to ride it as it's original Exterrorestrial Encounter, I think it was called, but it's never been a fan favorite. Unlike the losses from earlier in the year, I'm excited to see this go, & honestly would love an actually good, thought out Stitch attraction.
If You Haven't Seen Elsa "Freeze" The Castle At The Magic Kingdom Check This Out
Disney Parks live-streamed the first Frozen Holiday Wish of the year at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. If you've never seen this, it's amazing. This video doesn't even do it justice. Watching the castle "freeze over" in "ice" is one of the most breathtaking sights I can think of. Only second to maybe Happily Ever After. Even the little warm-up play beforehand is really cute. Especially, my favorite summer lovin' snowman Olaf. Wouldn't that be awesome to play for one night? Anyway, check this out. Like I said it is a beautiful sight that shouldn't be missed, even if you can only watch this stream. Let me know what y'all think. Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Last Chance For The Redhead
If you want one last shot at that beautiful redhead lined up in the front of the "wench auction", you're going to have to get yourself to Walt Disney World before February 26th, 2018. That's the day Pirates of the Caribbean will go down for refurbishment. Upon it's return March 19th, 2018 the classic auction will be replaced by the politically-correct version with the redhead joining into the pirating fray overseeing a "loot auction". I still don't understand this mass stupidity. They're pirates, not nice people, scallywags, crooks, & thieves. They're supposed to be unsavory characters, I've heard Walt describe this ride. We erase history to make us feel better now a days, & I'm wondering when this will stop? Some things are wrong, but they are there to open up conversations on why they're wrong. Anyway, I know I will be visiting this classic redhead at least one more time before she's retired. What do y'all think about this though? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Here's An Attraction Video For The "Seven Dwarfs Mine Train"
This is awesome! If you don't know what this is, it's comparable to the photos that are taken on many rides, except this one is in video form. When you see people in this video that would be you instead of them. I love it though, because the real hard to believe part is this is the actual ride. I love the audio-animatronics used on this ride. It really looks like the cartoon has been brought to life. If you've never got the pleasure of riding the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in the Magic Kingdom then here's a good chance to check it out. This is one of the growing attractions that I also love the queue as well. It's got all kind of things to explore while you're waiting to board. Anyway, check out the video, & when you get a chance, visit the Mine Train & make your own. Two things today y'all. For those that have rode the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, what do you think of the attraction? And whether you have or not, what do you think of these keepsake videos? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
If You Haven't Seen The "Boo To You" Parade At Not-So-Scary Halloween, They Streamed It, & It's Awesome
I've actually got to attend this parade. Now, I'm not usually a parade person when it comes to Disneyworld, but when I went this thing was started off by the Headless Horseman barreling through the streets with his flaming pumpkin on his black horse. I don't know if they do this anymore, as it's not shown in this video as the opening, but I will say it was a sight to see, that really got my attention. The parade features the Disney characters donning costumes along with prominently featuring the villains, who's floats are awesome I might add. It's your standard parade stuff other than that except for the gravediggers. The gravediggers are friggin' awesome. They have a choreographed "dance" that involves them scraping their shovels on the concrete to produce sparks. It's probably the coolest sight I've seen in a Disney parade. I'm so glad Disney Parks are streaming all these things for those that don't get to see them. If you think they look cool on video though, they're even more amazing in person. Check out the video, & not only do I want to know what you think, but what's your favorite Disney parade? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Should The "TRON Lightcycle Power Run" Replace "Tomorrowland Speedway"?
So, the TRON Lightcycle Power Run coming to Walt Disney World rumor has been in full force as of late. It's starting to really take shape now though as Chip & Co has BlogMickey reporting that their sources tell them that the popular Shanghai Disneyland semi-enclosed roller coaster will be popping up in the Magic Kingdom to replace the Tomorrowland Speedway. Word is they'll be going for the Magic Kingdom's 50th Anniversary in 2021. Tomorrowland Speedway was an original, opening with the park in 1971. At first glance, I'm like, "Hell Yeah!". I've actually been really looking forward to getting a version of this ride. I love TRON. However, when I think of the actual loss that is the Tomorrowland Speedway, I can't help but wonder if the end justifies the means? I start to not think of this one as an adult, but as a child. Much like myself, this is the first automobile a lot of children get to drive. That's a big deal to a kid. Then I think of myself as a parent. This is the first car my children got to drive with me. That's a majority of what Disney is about, family. Part of me hates to see a ride that promotes that, replaced with another ride that requires a parent pass. For those that don't know what that is, it's a pass you can get if you have kids that can't ride a ride. so both parents can ride while the other watches the kid. So, all in all, I'm excited about this addition, I just wish there was a way for cohabitation. No permits have been filed on this yet. Nor has Disney officially announced this yet. It is expected to be announced at the D23 Expo this weekend though. What do y'all think? Do the ends justify the means or not? Put itin the comments, like, & share.
Changes For "Pirates of the Caribbean" Both Good & Bad It Seems
Yes, it seems the classic "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride in Disneyland Paris will be going through some major changes when it reopens July 24th. As well as some eventual changes coming stateside as well. Chip & Co. reports when the Disneyland Paris attraction reopens it will now contain Captain Barbossa, ghostly visages of Davy Jones & Blackbeard warning "dead men DO tell tales", & a new part for the famous Redhead (More on that later). The ride will also feature new enhanced Audio-Animatronics, cosutmes, special effects, lighting & sound, some of which classical music themes from the films. Oh yeah, Captain Jack has also renamed the Blue Lagoon Restaurant after himself. It seems he won it in a wager. This is all really cool, save one part. I enjoyed the addition of Jack stateside, as well as Davy Jones. Even though it sadly seemed to shorten the length of the ride. This however is just wrong. I mentioned the Redhead is getting a new part. She will Yes, it looks like the "We want the redhead auction will now be over." Not only that though, similar refurbishmentsare expected to take place in Disneyland & Magic Kingdom in 2018. They say it has to do with the changing of the times. I'm of the thought that pirates set in a time long ago don't change with the times. If they changed with the times this movie would look a lot more like that Tom Hanks movie Captain Phillips. Anyway, they're still leaving the line, "we want the redhead". Now she'll be taking part in the pirating. I just can't help feeling this is a bad change for the wrong reasons. What do you think? Leave the classics alone? Or are we not big enough to realize part of history anymore without taking it personal? Remember this is a ride about pirates, scallywags, thieves, & murderers.
"Happily Ever After" Is Amazing!! Check it out!
I've always thought Fantasmic in Disney's Hollywood Studios was the best firework show ever created. Until now. Disney put up a live stream of the new firework show Happily Ever After at the Magic Kingdom. Paired with music and animation that brings the castle to life, this thing is breathtaking. I can't wait to see this in person. It is a truly beautiful sight, filled with many surprises along the way. Check it out & let us know what you think in the comments below.
Is There Room In The Magic Kingdom For Another Mountain?
If the rumors are correct there is. Chip & Co. is saying rumor is Disney officials are floating around the idea of a volcano-themed roller coaster coming to Adventureland. It's actually a revived plan from the early 2000's for what was to be called Fire Mountain. Put on the shelf due to not making it through testing, it was to be an indoor flying coaster. For those not thinking this would fit, Chip & Co. makes sure to remind us of a certain Polynesian Princess, Moana. Pretty sure after her recent box office success the park heads have been beating their heads against the wall trying to figure out how to capitalize on getting her in as soon as possible. Especially after the success of the quick addition of Frozen replacing Maelstrom in Epcot. I know I'm all for this. Everyone knows the highlight for thrill-seekers at the Disney Parks are the mountains. So all in all another one just has to be looked at as a plus right? And Moana themed? What do ya think? Let it be known in the comments, like, & share.
