New Issue Of Entertainment Weekly Shines Some Light On "Black Panther"

EW had an exclusive set visit to Wakanda, getting to check out Marvel's February 16, 2018 slatedBlack Panther. Starring Chadwick Boseman as the title character, along with Andy Serkis (Ulysses Klaue), Michael B. Jordan (Killmonger), & Lupita Nyong'o (Nakia) this film will be directed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed). I get asked a lot about how T'Challa stood toe to toe with Winter Soldier without his suit. My Panther knowledge is slim so I never had an answer. Now however, this article has enlightened me. Not only is the closed to all outsiders Wakanda the only place to find the unbreakable vibranium, I've now learned they grow a heart-shaped herb. This heart-shaped herb gives the land's leaders superhuman strength. They give some background on the characters as well. Nakia is a "covert agent whose job is to stifle word of Wakanda's secrets, hunting down its enemies with deadly force". Now I really do want to see her & Black Widow go at it. They also shed some light on the villains of the film. Killmonger is a dissident from the country. An aspiring prince who, to bring the king of his throne, finds himself in league with outsider & vibranium poacher Ulysses Klaue. You'll remember him losing his arm in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He's now replaced it with sonic mining equipment stolen from Wakanda. They say his real threat, however, lies in what he could tell the outside world about the nation's secrets. I was already pretty excited for this film. The trailer was awesome. This though? This has my excitement peaked. This sounds interesting without even factoring in the whole superhero aspect. Not to mention there's a bunch of pictures with this article. I put a couple with the cover down below. You get an awesome whole family shot, as well as, the first shot of Micheal B. Jordan that I've seen so far that didn't make me think, "Hey, that's Creed." Which so far was the only worry I had about this film so far. What do y'all think of all this though? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

What's In Store For Spider-Man & The MCU Post "Homecoming"?

Spider-Man: Homecoming definitely isn't crawling in the box office. Surprising analysts with a domestic $117 Million, this thing has definitely marked the successful return of the web-head. What's next in store for Spidey though? A lot's came out since the films release. In an interview with Marvel Head Kevin Feige, when asked about the July 5, 2019 sequel date, he replied, "We are looking at a five-movie storyline: Civil War, Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, untitled Avengers, Homecoming 2, or whatever we end up calling it, as an amazing five-story journey for Peter Parker. In the way that the events of Civil War directly inform the opening of Homecoming & his state of mind as he goes back to high school, so too will the events of the next two Avengers movies as he continues with high school. This original 22-movie arc ends with the untitled Avengers in May of 2019 & then two months later it will be Peter & Spider-Man (on July 5, 2019) that usher us into the aftermath & how things proceed from there." How awesome is that? Not only does the 22-movie arc end with the 4th Avengers, but Spider-Man will not only deal with the aftermath 2 months later, it will also start what's next to come. With the Marvel Cosmic universe jumping off with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, that prompted the next question asking what that might entail? To which Feige stayed vague with, "More places to tell stories, more characters to tell stories with. Certainly those stories connect, as we'll see with Infinity War in a very big way. Whatever happens with Vol. 3 & beyond remains to be seen." It sounds to me like they might not be on paper, but there are definitely some plans for Spider-Man even post Homecoming 2. We'll just have to wait & see on that though. More for the future of the wall-crawler comes with some Blu-Ray release news. I thought one of the funniest parts of Spider-Man Homecoming were the Captain America PSAs. Now I'm hearing there are a lot more of those, & not only that, but we're going to get to see them all. The John Campea Vlog says these extras will be available on the Blu-Ray release Homecoming. Like I said, I loved these. They're Captain America being the all-American boy scout, & doing his part to help shape the minds of America's youth. They feel like a play out of Stan Lee's book with just the right amount of "corn". Yet, still fitting the character perfectly. I can't wait to see the rest of these. Two more things have come to light, one being a little "spoilery". I'll start with the first small bit from Cinema Blend. Isabella Amara, Sally Avril of Spider-Man: Homecoming, will be joining the cast of Avengers: Infinity War. She's only back for the first, but in Spidey comics lore her character eventually becomes Bluebird. Obviously not saying this will happen, but they've gotta have some sort of plans for her character right? The last piece of friendly neighborhood news is a little bit of a spoiler I guess, if knowing future names bother you. If so skip the rest of this. Zendaya's character Michelle drops the line in the end of Homecoming that her friends call her MJ. Much like it tends to do the internet exploded. If her initials are MJ, that has to stand for Mary Jane right? Not according to Kevin Feige. He told Den of Geek, "In setting up this will be a very different thing, she's not Mary Jane Watson, that's not who the character is. But giving her the initials that remind you of that dynamic certainly is intriguing about what could go forward." He added more to IGN. In which he said, "We never even looked at it as a big reveal necessarily but more of just a fun homage to his past adventures & his past love. She's not Mary Jane Watson." He adds, there are big reveals in the movie. That's not one of them." Talking future he goes on, "Is she going to date Peter? Are they going to fall in love? She seems to be intrigued with him. There's a nice chemistry there. Who knows what will happen in future films?" I've been saying from the jump initials are just initials. I didn't even think this a big deal when I heard it. It doesn't get more spelled out than that though. She's not Mary Jane. If they want to go different directions with this one they should. I think it's funny how you hear things from the comic circle like, they should use Miles Morales. However, if you change any little aspect of the Parker story you're wrong for that. As long as Peter gets bit by a spider giving him spider-powers, has web-shooters, & annoys the bad guys with his constant quips, I'm almost open to anything else being changed up. As long as they just keep giving us good movies. Wow, I know that was a lot to take in, but let me know your thoughts down below in the comments. Then don't forget to like & share.

"Avengers: Infinity War" To Pit Doctor Strange And Ebony Maw

Collider Heroes featured a behind the scenes picture of Benedict Cumberbatch fighting someone in a motion capture suit that someone had happened to notice was labeled EB-MAW. It doesn't take much deduction to realize this is Ebony Maw. I know very slim things about this character, so I turned to Fandom. He was a member of Thanos' Black Order. He was more of a strategist or thinker in the army of the Mad Titan. This picture is pretty much perfect, as his first mention on Fandom was being dispatched to take care of Doctor Strange. Apparently, Maw's main powers are deception & manipulation. He can coax peoples thought processes into serving his own goals with just his words. Pair that with a super-genius class intelligence, & you have one formidable foe. Sounds awesome. It looks like Thanos will have more than a couple of tricks up his sleeve when he faces off with the Avengers on May 4, 2018.

Marvel's New Warriors Has It's Cast, & Yes That Means Squirrel Girl

Still waiting for the upcoming Cloak & Dagger in 2018, it appears Freeform now has it's cast set for New Warriors due to follow in the same year. THR revealed in an exclusive that Milana Vayntrub (This Is Us) & Derek Theler (Baby Daddy) will lead the ensemble cast in the comedic series as Squirrel Girl & Mister Immortal. This is to be a live-action scripted comedy about six young folks sounds like F.R.I.E.N.D.S.. Only with the addition of villains & super powers. The 10-episode series will also feature Jeremy Tardy as Night Thrasher, Calum Worthy as Speedball, Matthew Moy as Microbe, & Kate Comer as Debrii. Now to be honest, I don't know anything about these people they have cast. So, if anyone else has an opinion on these choices leave them in the comments, as I would love to know a little about these choices. I also don't know much about these characters from the comics either. That's part of what intrigues me about this. I know who Squirrel Girl is, unfortunately. I know she's a fan favorite, & the people that love her, LOVE her. I just can't get over the silliness of the character. With the powers of a squirrel, she's labeled as unbeatable. A feat which she has backed up, but only "off panel". Meaning, she fights big baddies, but it's almost a fade to black before she wins. I read a couple issues of Night Thrasher, he's almost like an armored up version of Daredevil sans the blindness. My only knowledge of Speedball come from the events that launched Civil War in the comics. He was the sole survivor when a villain took out a whole town, prompting superhero registration. The other three, I am not really familiar with at all. According to the article Mister Immortal is exactly what he sounds like, yet he's never used his powers, Microbe is a hypochondriac who has the ability to talk to germs, & Debrii, low-level, very low-level telekinetic.  I hope this is really good. I have no reason to worry so far, as the preview for Cloak & Dagger looked really good. As soon as that starts to come around I'm sure will probably get our first look at this.

Marvel Releases Touching Tribute To Joan Lee

If you didn't know, Joan Lee, wife of Stan Lee for 69 years, passed away on Thursday at the age of 93. Marvel had already wrote, "We lost a member of the Marvel family today & our thoughts & prayers go out to Stan & his daughter Joan in this difficult time", in a statement. Now they've released this video, which was planned for later this year. This thing is touching. I can't count how many times I teared up while watching it. This man truly found his soulmate. It leaves me to worry too. I've personally seen what happens to couples who have been together this long after one passes. It's hard. He lost someone who's been in his life longer than I've even been alive. That's a hard hole to fill. My deepest condolences go out to Stan & his daughter in their time of loss.

"Fresh Off The Boat's" Randall Park Joining "Ant-Man & the Wasp"

Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly (Wasp), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), & Michael Pena (Luis) are all returning to their roles in Peyton Reed's Ant-Man & the Wasp. Now Collider reports that The Tracking Board has Randall Park on board to play SHIELD Agent Jimmy Woo. I friggin' love this guy. If you don't know him from The Interview, I hope you know him from Fresh Off The Boat. If not, definitely check him out, he is hilarious. This is not only a great addition to the comedic tone of this movie, but also SHIELD? That name's been pretty irrelevant since the events of Captain America: Winter Soldier. I have to wonder if this means the TV show is about to gain a little more relevance as well? Not as much as affecting the movies, but having the movies affect them more again? Let me know what y'all think of this down below. Not just Randall Park, but the SHIELD thing as well. Don't forget to like & share.

Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury Joining "Captain Marvel"

Deadline has confirmed Samuel L. Jackson's, Nick Fury will be reprising his role in March 8, 2019's Captain Marvel. He'll be joining Academy Award winning, Brie Larson, who's taking the role of the title character with Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck scheduled to direct. I couldn't be happier about this news. Everyone always lists Captain America as the leader of the Avengers. However, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe it was Nick Fury that put everything together. He kept the ball rolling for a good while there to. For that matter, I really want to know Fury's take on the Sokovia Accords. The Ultimate Universe of Marvel comics basically designed this character with Samuel L. Jackson in mind. It show's too, because he is perfect in the role. Anyway, what do y'all think? Does this get you anymore excited Captain Marvel? I know I'm more interested with this info. Write it in the comments, like, & share.

Marvel's Inhumans Gets A Trailer To Go With It's New Poster

Inhumans got a new poster a couple days ago followed by the announcement of a trailer to release today. First of all this new poster is way better than the last one. It at least gives you a look at something for someone who don't know who the Inhumans are. Then we get to this trailer. I had already talked about the first picture released, & how I had seen cosplay done better than what was put forth. I bring this back up now because, I feel almost the same about this trailer. I still have high hopes for this, but to me it came off as being almost fan made. Even Lockjaw the Dog, which I thought was the best part of this trailer by the way, came off looking like a special effect. Even the sets screamed fan film. I know this is a television series & budgets aren't going to be the size of the theatrical films, but I figured with this thing being shot in Imax & debuting in Imax they'd come with it. At least for the pilot. Fingers crossed this thing has enough story to get past all that. We won't know for sure until Sept. 1 when this thing debuts in Imax theaters, but I'm a little worried. What do y'all think of this trailer? Yay or nay? Are we all still excited for Inhumans or am I right to be a little concerned? Let us know in the comments, like. & share.

"Spider-Man: Homcoming" Please Don't Show Us Anymore

I just got finished basically doing two things. Begging Spider-Man Homecoming to stop showing me any more trailers, & praising them for at least not really giving away any of Michael Keaton's Vulture. Well in the ultimate we don't listen to you, there's not only another trailer, but it features Keaton's Vulture & his crew. Once again, great trailer, but who's money do you not have yet? With everything shown so far if they're not going to see Spidey, then they're not going to see Spidey. Stop giving away this movie any further. I can't wait for this thing to come out now so I can see it, & save myself for catching any more for free. Anyway, what do y'all think? Not only of the trailer, but an I wrong? Has this thing not been over-trailered yet? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.

Spider-Man's Screen-time In "Avengers: Infinity War" & Even More Trailers For "Spider-Man Homecoming"

So we all know everyone & their mother is set to appear in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. Now we're getting an idea of where everyone's favorite neighborhood superhero falls into the mix. Collider mentioned a Spider-Man: Homecoming press junket where Fandango questioned Marvel's own Kevin Feige about how much screen-time Spidey will have in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War? He replied, "I think it might feel bigger a little bit because of Homecoming & because of what people know from it, but it's about on par with [Civil War]." This is pretty much on par with what I was thinking everyone was going to get for Infinity War. You gotta figure you'll have the cast of Civil War, Hulk, Thor, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thanos, & Lord knows who else. How much screen-time can even be available in the first place with that big of a cast? In other Spidey news here's some new trailers. Full scene clips actually, & even in the comments to the video someone mentions how they feel like they've now seen most of the movie. I do have to somewhat agree, this movie has now officially reached over-trailered status for me. I love what I'm seeing, don't get me wrong. Everything about this looks good. I just don't want to see anything else new until I'm sitting in the theater. At least they're saving Michael Keaton's Vulture. I feel like he's the only thing we haven't seen a lot from. I hope they keep it that way too. Keaton's probably the thing I'm most excited for in this movie. Anyway, what do y'all think? Has it been too many trailers? And what are you're guesses on the rest of the screen-time for Avengers: Infinity War? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.

Tom Holland Talks Spider-Man; Venom Not In MCU & Peter Parker's Been There For Awhile

The other day we talked about that weird interview with Kevin Feige & Amy Pascal. Now, in an interview with Steve Weintraub of Collider Tom Holland has made it known that as of right now Venom is not part of the MCU. Spider-man will not be in the Venom movie either as of this point, as that would make Venom part of the MCU. I'm not sure Sony is making the best play here. For some reason time & time again they keep proving in the long run, that they don't understand this franchise. So fingers crossed for Venom, but at least we know from now it won't taint Spider-man. Then, in extra wall-crawler news, Huffington Post also got word from Tom Holland. This time regarding a fan theory involving the little kid who has a stand off with a drone at the Stark Expo, wearing a Iron Man mask in Iron Man 2. I'm sure you can get where this is going, but it's now confirmed as a real thing. Not only did Holland confirm the boy was Peter Parker, he went on to say, "I can confirm that as of today. I literally had a conversation with Kevin Feige only 20 minutes ago. Maybe I've just done a big, old spoiler, but it's out there now." So how bout that? Parker has roots in the MCU. I think it's pretty cool, even if it's an afterthought. What do you think? Should Sony keep pursuing this Venom thing or ride the Marvel Studios waves & count the cash? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.

Tom Holland's Spider-man May Appear In Non-MCU Sony Spinoffs?

I saw this on monkeysfightingrobots.com, & I don't know what to take out of this video at all. In an interview with Amy Pascal (Sony Executive) & Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios President), Amy is speaking about the Sony announced Black Cat & Venom Sony films. She says, "Those movies will all take place in the world that we're creating for Peter Parker. I mean, they'll be adjunct to it; they may be different locations, but it will still all be in the same world & they will be connected to each other as well." She's then asked of Tom Holland appearing. In which she says, "There's always a chance." Definitely watch the video though, as the look of pure confusion on Kevin Feige's face speaks to me as this not being the last we're going to hear on this subject. Definitely going to keep my eyes & ears on any developments to come. I'd be all for these spin-offs if I they weren't a Sony only production. They've had too many chances at this already, & I'm only trusting the hands of the MCU with Spidey. Now if I hear these will also be in conjunction with Marvel Studios, I may change my mind. Until then though this is just another bad idea from Sony. What do y'all think? Leave it in the comments, like, & share.

Tom Holland & Zendaya Host a "Spider-man: Homecoming" Featurette

Right after I say I'm starting to feel like we're seeing too much Spider-man/Iron Man 4, we get this 25 minute featurette. I does have some new footage,  most of which is more a behind-the-scenes type of thing. This is like the "Flavor Flav" of Spider-man: Homecoming. In the fact that this is totally a "hypeman" for the film. At one point Kevin Feige flat out says Spider-man is the greatest Marvel Superhero. The skits between Tom Holland & Zendaya could've probably used a little more fine tuning, but besides that, we did learn some cool little tidbits in this video. Kevin Feige lets us know that Peter Parker has been Spider-man for 6 months in the beginning of this. We don't see Uncle Ben die or a spider bite. Everything up to & including Civil War will be told through Peter's cell phone in a montage, I would guess first thing. Instead of the usual, we're getting a kid becoming a Superhero story, instead of a traditional origin story. Tom Holland says that this rendition of the wall-crawler is most similar to the teenage version seen in the Ultimate Spider-man comic-books. This is the greatest thing I could hear. That is my favorite rendition of Spider-man. There's some more about Michael Keaton's amazing looking Vulture selling Avengers weapon tech on the black market, more on the new Spidey-suit, & they made sure you know from the jump, then over, & over again that Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man will be here. The overall consensus between all involved though is this will be the newest, never seen before version of Spider-man ever. I hope. Sony, Marvel you have my money. Don't show me any more of this movie, please. The more you show the more I don't get to experience in the theater. What do you think? Am I the only one worried that we're seeing too much of this? Let me know in the comments, like, & share.

Marvel's Looking Like They're Going to Do It Again With "Black Panther" Teaser Trailer & Poster

Marvel Studios released their first Black Panther trailer & poster yesterday, & I'm beginning to think Marvel can do no wrong. This looks really good. I mean, look at Chadwick Boseman in that poster down there. He's got regal written all over him. Andy Serkis looks amazing reprising his role as Ulysses Klaue. We get a look at Martin Freeman's Everett K. Ross & Lupita Nyong'o's Nakia. Wakanda looks great, with it's mix of "tribal" Africa & the hidden "science fiction" Africa of Wakanda. As a teaser this is awesome. I can't wait to get a full trailer so we can get some a couple story nuggets to go with these visuals. I don't know much about Black Panther except the basics, & I usually don't get to say that much when it comes to these Marvel movies. So I'm a little more excited than usual for this one, as I don't really have a clue as to what's going to happen. Other than the obvious someone wants Wakanda's vibranium. The only worry I have so far going in is every time I saw Michael B. Jordan in the trailer I couldn't help but think, hey it's Apollo Creed's son. So if anything I hope as we get into the film I can put that thought aside, & get into this new character. Can't wait for more, but even more importantly what do y'all think of not only this trailer, but the poster too? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.

James Gunn Will Partner With Feige To Oversee Marvel Cosmic Universe

Before the release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 we talked about James Gunn taking up Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. We also went on to mention how that would be the beginning shape of things to come in the Marvel Cosmic Universe. I took that as this, but apparently I jumped the gun. According to Collider yesterday, in an interview with IGN Gunn has revealed that he will work with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige to oversee the future of the entire Marvel Cosmic Universe. As I said, I kinda thought this was a thing already. It's confirmed now though, & I think it's awesome. Guardians have become my favorite entries in the Marvel Universe. Which is strange considering out of all the comics I get every week, I've never really read Guardians. I have to thank the X-men crossover Black Vortex for giving me the limited amount of Guardians of the Galaxy knowledge I do have. I used that knowledge to win the soundtrack at the opening of Volume 2. Anyway, are you pumped about this James Gunn revelation or do you think Feige was fine on his own? Watch Stan Lee Assemble Marvel Heroes For Disney Cuise Line's Marvel Day At Sea

I love this. It's so cornily Stan Lee it's great. Disney Cruise Line this fall, will have Marvel Day At Sea on select 7-night cruises from New York City. This video has Stan Lee giving all the heroes a call to make sure they're up to the task. This cruise sounds really cool & I'm a land-lover at heart when it comes to giant boats. Something about the Titanic that rubbed me wrong. Check it out though it's a fun video.

Yet Another "Spiderman Homecoming" Trailer

Letting us know that Spider-Man Homecoming will be super-fun this time around, I'm beginning to think we're getting to a dangerous over trailering of this movie. While I love the scenes showed, some of the new suit's web features in action, Tom Holland having fun as the wall crawler, & a very sinister sounding Keaton as Vulture. The movie looks awesome. We're just reaching the point of, if you're not convinced by now, you probably never will be. I just don't want to be Spider-manned out by the time this thing comes around. Anyway, another great trailer. Letting me know, based on just the trailers, I'm really going to like this interpretation of Spider-man/Iron Man 4. Just bring on July 7th soon though before they give us an editable mini-movie. What do y'all think? Too much push? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.

Here's Some More "Off Duty" Thor & The "First Look" At "Avengers: Infinty War"

I've started calling these videos "Off Duty" Thor. They started with him telling us what he was doing during Civil War, & now Thor discovers some action figures on set. These things are so funny, I totally wouldn't mind a Thor's Day Off movie if Marvel ever runs out of ideas. After the Thor short this picks up with the "first look" at Avengers: Infinity War. I put first look in parentheses because if you blink you'll miss the first look. It does give a really good summation of events to this point though. As well as let you hear how excited everyone working on this is. What do y'all think? Both of "Off Duty" Thor & the "First Look". For that matter what has been your favorite of the "Off Duty" Thor vids? Let us know in the comments below, like & share.

Newest "Spider-Man Homecoming" Trailer Reveals Some Plot Details

Two new trailers actually. One, a short comedic one with Stan Lee for the NBA Finals, & the other a full-length that sheds some light on the Vulture's (Michael Keaton) plans for the upcoming film. It opens up with the events of Civil War from Spidey's point of view as he documents the battle. Then it goes on to let us know the Vulture is modifying left over/stolen Avengers tech. That'll definitely keep Tony Stark around. As much as Civil War felt like Avengers 2.5 to me this is starting to feel like Iron Man 3.5. That's not necessarily a bad thing either. This, like Hulk popping up in the next Thor, is what comic books have been about for years, crossovers. I'm just wondering how long they can keep this up. The budgets aren't getting any smaller. Anyway, loved this, don't want to see anymore, just hurry up July 7th, & let's see this thing already. Let me know y'all think? Are you still excited for the newest big screen exploits of your favorite neighborhood wall-crawler? Did you dig this trailer as much as I did? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.

D23 Expo Announces Big Marvel Presence

D23 have now announced the Marvel presence at this years D23 Expo. These additions have added to my want for them to stream this as they did Star Wars Celebration earlier this year. Friday, July 14 at 1:15 in the D23 Expo Arena Cup o' Joe will take place. In which, Joe Quesada, Chief Creative Officer of Marvel, will hold what they're calling a "no-holds-barred panel on everything Marvel." Later at 6 p.m. on Stage 28, Marvel Animation will host a panel with special guests, exclusive footage, & announcements regarding their future. There will also be a Pavilion containing some costumes from Thor: Ragnarok & Black Panther, multiple giveaways, events, & the chance to meet Marvel Studios' filmmakers, development team, & talent. In addition to all this, for the first time D23 Expo will have a Marvel Games Pavilion. Where you can get a chance to experience new console & mobile games. Among these will be LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, Action-RPG/MMO Marvel Heroes Omega, MARVEL: Future Fight, & Marvel Puzzle Quest. Once again, I really hope they stream this thing. It sounds absolutely thrilling. Definitely looking forward to Cup o' Joe more than anything out of this. The no-holds-barred part intrigues me. What gets y'all goin about this announcement? Let us know in the comments below.
