Now we have two more episodes of the ongoing Star Wars: Forces of Destiny shorts. This time they take place on the same planet in the same general area. That being said, with who's involved I would almost think these also take place at roughly the same, if not, the same time. The first one, titled The Stranger pits Jyn Erso against some stormtroopers in an attempt to rescue a little girl's cat. That description alone almost speaks volumes for this episode. This definitely ranks with the Hoth episode in terms of throwaway, even if it is a little more enjoyable. That could be in part to kitty cuteness though. It does at least build on the character of Jyn Erso though. As she helps this kid, whom she doesn't know at all, at great risk to herself. That in itself does score a couple of extra points for this short, placing it above the Endor & Hoth episodes in my book. The next short, titled Bounty of Trouble, I really enjoyed. This one has Sabine Wren staging a kidnapping of Princess Leia to pass off stolen Imperial Plans. So far this is the one that has felt most worthy of having the title Star Wars. I could see this scenario starting off a scene in Rebels. Speaking of which, that's where I feel this series, once again, failed by missing a great spot to tie this in to the already established lore. I think they're really missing an opportunity here. If saying you want more of something is my only complaint though, they had to have done something right with this one. I really hope if they keep doing these, they stay with more stories like this one. That not only seem to fit the universal tone, but can also be tied in somewhere to the bigger picture. So all in all, I'll say I enjoyed 1n a half of both of these. What did y'all think? Let us know down in the comments, like & share.
