I just made it through the 8 episodes of Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny Season 2 that Disney released on it's YouTube channel earlier this week, & I have to say I enjoyed these far more than the first season. Most of these have actual ramifications to the Star Wars universe. Not to mention they are put together so much better than their predecessors. My favorite episodes in this order from the new season are The Path Ahead , Bounty Hunted , & Unexpected Company. The first two of those fill in some blanks with some always needed Yoda wisdom & how Leia got that bounty hunter costume, while the third just makes Ahsoka Tano that much more awesome. I also loved the addition of Mas Kanata to the original trilogy. The other episodes are really good as well, with some good messages for younger viewers in the form of Hasty Departure & Jyn's Trade . The only one of these episodes I could really do without is Shuttle Shock. Which is kinda a shame, as I thought this might finally get me to care about Rose Tico. It was wasted though, & that relationship between her & Finn still just seems forced to me. Check 'em out though. Let me know what you think? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Star Wars: Forces of Destiny Crash Course Feels Like An Old "The More You Know" Cartoon
This is a very different episode of Star Wars: Forces of Destiny. Like I said in the title, the whole thing felt like a like one of those old "The More You Know" cartoons. They would come on back when Saturday Morning Cartoons were still a thing. They'd try to teach morals, good habits, & just overall safety. This totally feels like one of the morals episodes. Was it good? I didn't really dig it, but I can't knock it at all because of what it is. This wasn't made for me, it was made for a way younger audience, & in all reality we need more stuff like this. I can't believe with so many people "screen parenting" that the messages that were contained on those screens when I was a child are missing now. It's sad really. Anyway, check this out. If you have kids let them watch it more importantly. Let's show a little support for this amazing effort at trying something I haven't seen in awhile. Other than in shows that are specifically for this purpose, & those are usually boring. I wanna know y'all's thoughts on this. Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Newest "Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny" Gives Us A Spoiler For "Star Wars: Rebels"
So, the newest episode for Star Wars: Forces of Destiny dropped, & with it came a spoiler for Disney XD's Star Wars: Rebels. In this episode, which only exists for comedic purpose, the Ewoks are hungry & Leia isn't quite to fond of the idea of them eating Stormtroopers (Hence the name, An Imperial Feast). She sends Han & Chewie to get some rations & BAM! Rebels spoiler, Hera Syndulla makes it to the events after Return of the Jedi. So no matter the fate of the rest of the Star Wars: Rebels crew Hera makes it past season 4. My guess is she's one of few, I don't think a major amount of the Rebels crew are going to make it through to the credits of season 4. That's a-whole-nother show & a-whole-nother story though. This is about this episode, An Imperial Feast, which is, all in all, meh. It's a kid's show, so it's inevitable to have these throwaway comedic episodes. That said, it isn't bad, just not my cup of tea. I'm always looking for some advancement when it comes to my Star Wars though. What did y'all think? About this episode, the newest batch as a whole, & the revelation that Hera Syndulla makes it all the way to the fall of the Empire? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
More Jyn Erso In Newest Episode Of "Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny"
I've liked a lot of these Star Wars: Forces of Destiny episodes, especially in this new season. This one falls on a middle ground for me though, for a couple of reasons. One it contains Jyn Erso, which while I liked for Rogue One, she's not the most likable character. It worked for the movie, as she was playing a role that would get redeemed by the end. Where as used as a normal character with others in the Star Wars universe she doesn't come off as one of the scoundrels like a Han or a Lando with their redeeming qualities, she comes off as just unlikable all around. The biggest contributor to this being just meh for me is this is a prime example of why these episodes should be longer. This scene has meaning beyond it's message. However, without context we don't know what all this is even for. It's stuff like that that made a lot of the first season episodes seem like they really had no standing in the grand scheme of the Star Wars universe. Getting a little more time here on both ends would give some significance to the plans they're running around with. But hey, if my biggest gripe is that it should be longer that's saying something for it. What did y'all think of this episode though? In fact what about the whole of season 2 so far? "Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny" Season 2 Continues To Impress With "The Starfighter Stunt"
I've been really impressed so far with the second season of Star Wars: Forces of Destiny. My favorite still being the last episode Teach You, I Will, this new episode The Starfighter Stunt doesn't disappoint. In an entertaining use of Padme Amidala we get to see Ahsoka giving her some flight lessons. Considering that in itself sounds really boring, of course it gets interrupted by a hidden droid fighter. And as usual, without R2-D2 all would be lost. Once again a solid episode though. Leading me to think these could really hold some importance if they upped the runtime to 5-10 minutes. They're really catching their strides in this second season, & I love to see it. I hope this does bring some new blood over to the Star Wars Galaxy, fans are what keeps all this going. Curious to know what y'all think though? What do you think of this new season in comparison to the first? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Always Wise Words From Yoda In "Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny" Episode "Teach You, I Will"
Teach You, I Will has to go down as my favorite episode of Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny to date. As soon as I saw Yoda on the front, I figured the Jedi Master for a main character in this one, & I was right. Yoda delivers some amazing wisdom throughout as he checks in & builds on Anakin's duel-lightsaber training of his padwan, Ahsoka. Though short, this episode was a must see, delivering many messages throughout. The resolution of taking one's training & making it your own might be some of the best advice in life one could take. Anyway, I loved this episode. What did y'all think? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
New "Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny" Episode "Tracker Trouble" Takes Place During "The Force Awakens"
Han Solo gets to make an appearance before his solo film in this Star Wars: Forces of Destiny episode. Titled Tracker Trouble, this episode takes place on the way to Mas Kanata in The Force Awakens. Still not the most relevant of things to watch, but once again it really feels like Star Wars. That's something I've definitely noticed about the first two episodes from this second season, & so far I'm really digging it. This show could probably even stand a time extension to the 5-10 minute mark if they keep this up. What did y'all think of this episode though? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
"Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny" Newest Episode Debuts
Brand new episode of Star Wars: Forces of Destiny came out. This episode, titled Newest Recruit, kicks off season 2. I had a small problem with the first season not only seeming to lack any impact on the Star Wars galaxy, but not really containing any substance at all. This one, while not having any impacts on the galaxy, still was really entertaining. It felt like a mini-episode of Star Wars: Rebels. I think what I really like about it, is while it was just the girls, it still felt like Star Wars. Some of the earlier episodes felt like they could have almost been any cartoon. With some even felling like cartoons about Star Wars, as opposed to something that actually fits. Anyway, all in all this was a really cool, little short. I'd like to know what y'all think though? Both Star Wars fans & the casual watcher. I'd really like to get a feminine take on the "girl power" of these. Do you think they will open more girls up to Star Wars? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Latest "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" Episodes Seem To Have Something In Common
Now we have two more episodes of the ongoing Star Wars: Forces of Destiny shorts. This time they take place on the same planet in the same general area. That being said, with who's involved I would almost think these also take place at roughly the same, if not, the same time. The first one, titled The Stranger pits Jyn Erso against some stormtroopers in an attempt to rescue a little girl's cat. That description alone almost speaks volumes for this episode. This definitely ranks with the Hoth episode in terms of throwaway, even if it is a little more enjoyable. That could be in part to kitty cuteness though. It does at least build on the character of Jyn Erso though. As she helps this kid, whom she doesn't know at all, at great risk to herself. That in itself does score a couple of extra points for this short, placing it above the Endor & Hoth episodes in my book. The next short, titled Bounty of Trouble, I really enjoyed. This one has Sabine Wren staging a kidnapping of Princess Leia to pass off stolen Imperial Plans. So far this is the one that has felt most worthy of having the title Star Wars. I could see this scenario starting off a scene in Rebels. Speaking of which, that's where I feel this series, once again, failed by missing a great spot to tie this in to the already established lore. I think they're really missing an opportunity here. If saying you want more of something is my only complaint though, they had to have done something right with this one. I really hope if they keep doing these, they stay with more stories like this one. That not only seem to fit the universal tone, but can also be tied in somewhere to the bigger picture. So all in all, I'll say I enjoyed 1n a half of both of these. What did y'all think? Let us know down in the comments, like & share.
"Star Wars Forces of Destiny" Latest Episode Probably Best So Far
So, all in all I haven't been too impressed with the Star Wars: Forces of Destiny shorts. In defense they're not for me. They're cute & more for small kids, but when this first got announced, I was under the impression the female side of the Star Wars galaxy was really going to get a significant place to shine. That being said, I'd figured these would feature some major moments for the ladies. I was a little let down when I saw them. I had to realize they were more for yucks, than to further the narrative. This latest one however, titled The Imposter Inside, feels like it would have started off an episode of Clone Wars. Featuring Ahsoka & Padme having a run in with a shapeshifting assassin, like the one seen in Attack of the Clones. Once again, no major impact on the Star Wars universe. This one at least, felt like it fit in there. In fact, this was the first one of these I watched that I wanted more of. I'm hoping this is a signal that they've saved the best for last. What did y'all think of this one? Am I wrong for expecting some substance to these, even though they're just shorts? Let me know in the comments, like, & share.
Flashback To Leia On Hoth In Another "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" Episode
Beasts of Echo Base is the title of the latest release from the Star Wars: Forces of Destiny mini-series of shorts. Like many of the others this is silly with no real bearing at all on the Star Wars universe. I'm sure my 4 yr. girl is going to love this, & I guess that was what they were going for in the first place, but man. Some of these really feel dumbed down way too much though. I'm really hoping they are saving the bests for last, but I've almost gave up on any real character development out of these. I'm really curious as to how others are receiving these. Let me know in the comments, like, & share.
Two More Episodes Released Of "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" & I Just Want More
Episode 3 & 4 of the female-centric Star Wars: Forces of Destiny were released, & I can't help but feel like I want more out of this series. Episode 3, Ewok Escape, takes place as Wicket leads Princess Leia to the Ewok village. They come across some stormtroopers on the way, & in a nutshell Leia learns that the little bears are pretty capable. This was a cute short. It fills in a small spot in Jedi, which is pretty cool. Just insignificant really. I keep thinking about how bad I wanted these to actually mean something significant to the Star Wars lore. So far they're just cute throwaways. Leading me to Episode 4, The Padwan Path. This was probably the most disappointing to me. When I saw Ahsoka in the original trailer for these I was very excited. I'm taking into consideration that might be why I was so let down. You get a story of Ahsoka as a padwan running into some trouble while trying to make a ceremony with Anakin & Yoda in time. This could have been I perfect time to throw in a little tease of life in-between leaving Anakin & the Order, & returning to face Vader. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, do yourself a favor & watch Clone Wars & Rebels. You're Welcome.) Anyway, there's still more of these to go to right the ship's course. Am I wanting too much outta these though? Let me know what y'all think down below in the comments, like, & share.
"Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" Showing Potential In Second Episode
The second episode showcasing the women of Star Wars was released, & I liked it more than the first. That being said, the first episode is needed to set this episode up. Leading me to almost think they should have just came out together. This one, titled BB-8 Bandits, picks up after the Sands of Jakku, right as Rey is about to take BB-8 to the Niima Outpost in The Force Awakens. Speaking of which, do you remember Teedo? If not, that was the guy in The Force Awakens that had BB-8 tied up in his net when Rey came across them. Well according to this, he didn't take so kindly to losing his prize. He comes back with some friends giving us the titled BB-8 bandits. In the process of trying to grab back the little droid we come back full circle to that first, seemingly throwaway episode. Anyway, this one showed a lot of potential for the future of this series. Can't wait for more now. What did y'all think though? Are y'all feelin the Star Wars girl power? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.
First Episode Of "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" Debuts
The first episode of Star Wars: Forces of Destiny debuted today. Titled Sands of Jakku, this short takes place right after the initial meet-up of Rey & BB-8 "in-between the lines" of The Force Awakens. Out of all the clips I had seen in the trailer, this was the one that least interested me. It turns out I was right, as this is nothing that's going to further any story along. However, this was made in the name of "girl power" to attract young girls to Star Wars, & in that it succeeds. My about to be 4 year old daughter loved this. BB-8 is her favorite thing in life, so this was right up her alley. It is a cute short too, don't get me wrong. It's just more Blip than Clone Wars or Rebels. I'm hoping as we get into more of these they have more of a significance to the whole picture. As opposed to little shorts holding no actual meaning in the Star Wars galaxy. Anyway, check it out, I would love to know what you think. Put it down below, like, & share.
