Been awhile since I've wrote anything, but this is pretty big. MakingStarWars.net has reported sources placing the next saga in the “High Republic era. Usually very reputable, they say this sounds like it will be 400 years before the Skywalker saga. During a time of Bane's Rule of Two, & a much younger Jedi Yoda. Notice it says Saga, as reportedly this will not be a trilogy. Instead a saga of films that are interconnected via the era they’re told in. Supposedly this is what was supposed to go to Benoiff & Weiss before they moved on. Nothing really much in details other than this, & it will involve Jedi & non-Jedi. I can’t help but be a little concerned. I loved The Last Jedi, but that love wasn’t universal due mainly to its surprises, & stray from the EU. Here we’ve got what looks like the closest thing to Knights of the Old Republic we’re ever gonna get. That said we’re once again touching familiar ground that probably won’t be familiar at all if they want a good film. The masses have proved though, they want their Star Wars to be predictable, & only move in the directions they have already approved in their own heads. So, all in all I'm cautiously excited for this, as I've wanted a new cinematic spin on these times. Unlike others though, I feel like it should pull form history but not give us something we’ve already seen. Shake it up. Anyway, what’s y’all's thoughts? Do you wanna see a rehash of KOTOR, or something new with the original material just used as inspiration? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
"Logan" Director To Tackle Boba Fett
So the fact that a Boba Fett film is in the works has been nearly overshadowed by the news that it will be written & directed by James Mangold. A THR exclusive reports the Logan director/co-writer will be picking the fan loved bounty hunter. With the additional unconfirmed rumor that he will be reunited with X-Men co-writer/producer Simon Kinberg. The two are pretty close after their work on Logan. A film which totally raised the bar on comicbook films when it came out. Story details are nonexistent right now, but this is awesome. We hear a lot of no one asked for a Solo movie. This however, paired with the announced ObiWan film is more in the realm of, "Let's do this!" I loved Logan , & I think this team will be perfect for Boba Fett, or Boba Fett: A Star Wars Story, as I'm guessing it will be called. I started noticing a pattern after Solo: A Star Wars Story. Anyway though, I'm totally excited for this lineup, what about y'all? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Star Wars Celebration 2019 Has Announced It's Official Time & Place
Yesterday the Star Wars Show featured a big announcement. Star Wars Celebration 2019 will take place in Chicago for five-days, taking place from April 11-15, 2019 at McCormick Place. This will mark the 20th Anniversary of Star Wars Celebration. No details about panels or appearances have been revealed yet, but fans can start purchasing their tickets, including single-day, multi-day and VIP passes, on June 5 at 12 PM CST. I've never been to a Star Wars Celebration, but I know some people that made it to last year's in Orlando. Every single one of them talked like this was one of the greatest experiences of their lives. If I can figure out a way to go, I'll totally be there. Not too excited about it being in Chicago. I can think of a lot of places I'd rather go. However, this is lining up in time to not only shed light on Episode 9, but start confirming some of the many rumors out there. Like the series they're working on or what film's are actually coming next. Obiwan? Yoda? Boba Fett? Jabba? So many things have been tossed around, I just want to know what's really coming next. This is a good a place as any to finally make those announcements. Anyway, if I can't go, hopefully they'll stream the whole thing again. I'm excited! Who else? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
"Making Solo" A Little Different Than Recent Featurettes
This little behind the scenes featurette just dropped for Solo: A Star Wars Story , & I immediately had 2 thoughts. The first was just how serious everyone is. You see the ones for Infinity War , Last Jedi, even A Wrinkle in Time , & everybody involved looks like they're having a blast. Here it looks like if you even get a smile it's just a courtesy for the camera. I'm wondering if that's a reflection of everything this film went through. The other thing I couldn't get out of my head while watching this was how hard they're selling this. I never thought I'd see a Star Wars movie get this hard of a push. Don't get me wrong, Star Wars always spends a ton on marketing. It's just, usually it feels like a celebration. Like they're telling us we're lucky to get another Star Wars. The marketing for this has seemed more like usual movie marketing. Even a little more desperate though, showing us almost everything they knew we would want in there. Answering all of our Star Wars nostalgia questions up front. In comparison to other Star Wars films, it's like they're asking fans to come for the first time, instead of just reminding us when to. Anyway, what do y'all think? Of this featurette, & the marketing in general? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Favreau Drops Time Setting For Upcoming "Star Wars" Series
Jon Favreau's upcoming, live-action Star Wars series is my main reason for caring about Disney's plans for a streaming service, & now we know exactly when it will take place. Favreau told Nerdist at the Solo premiere that the unnamed series takes place 7 years after Return of the Jedi's Battle of Endor. The series will introduce brand new characters to the Star Wars universe, and will be a Segway between Jedi and The Force Awakens. Probably like Rebels in between 3 & 4, except falling in between 6 & 7 in the same ballpark worth of time if I had to guess. I'm sure we'll see some familiar faces along the way as well. This is exciting. I'm hoping we really get a feel of the hows & whys to the Resistance & the First Order in this. What do y'all think? Are you ready for this series? 7 TV Spots For "Solo: A Star Wars Story" Have Filled The Week
Solo: A Star Wars Story had it's big opening night last night. Reviews are as mixed as any modern Star Wars film, & I'm actually hearing good things from my usual trusted spots. I'm hung up on this excessive amount of TV spots released over the week though. Almost every day we've got a new TV spot, & I'm officially throwing up the white flag. It's not that there's a lot. Actually, it's on point with the last few releases in quantity. It's that most of them are whole scenes, as opposed to remixes of the larger preview. I usually don't even pay them too much mind. I just feel like these showed me a lot. I can't say I've seen too much yet, but I'm definitely at my limit. At least most of what was shown, were scenes everyone knew was going to be in the film. May 25th is two weeks away though. This thing is now in danger of showing me a lot more than I wanted to see on the way in. That all said, you immediately know why they're doing this. The problems this movie went through are almost as excessive as the amount of people who have voiced they don't even really want a Han Solo film. Lucasfilm thinks they have some convincing to do. With that in mind, I think they've totally made their point. This looks really good. A whole lot better than I ever thought it was going to look. It could just be the best scenes, & clever trailers, but in all honesty these trailers do me way better than the trailers for Rogue One did. I'm pumped. I wanna see this... just no more trailers. What do y'all think of this excessive amount of TV spots? Too much? Quantity aside, what about quality? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Amazing 360 View Of That Notorious Sabacc Game
This will be the coolest thing you see all day! This video Star Wars put up puts you right in the middle of the Sabacc game that made Star Wars history. We all know how this clip from Solo: A Star Wars Story ends, or do we? For all we know this could be the first of many games back & forth between these old friends. This is an awesome way to see it though. It's so much to watch at one time it's almost overwhelming. I'm gonna watch this with some VR goggles, & totally shut off everything next time around. Perfect vid for Star Wars Day! May the Force be with you, & May the 4th be with you!
Help UNICEF Save Children With Your #RoarForChange
Before we get to this great message from UNICEF, I've got to address this video. The build up videos to Solo: A Star Wars Story so far have been great. This Chewie's a diva thing is no exception. I kept thinking about that character poster they left Joonas Suotamo's name off of? Maybe that's the real explanation. Seriously though this was hilarious. The shot with the umbrella is instant classic material. This is what it's all about though, Star Wars' Chewbacca challenges you to #RoarForChange. They want you to show them your best Wookiee roar! For each public post, like, or share on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter that includes #RoarForChange between May 3 - 25, 2018, Star Wars: Force for Change U.S. will donate $1 to UNICEF USA, up to $1 million. Funds will be used to support UNICEF’s lifesaving work for children around the world. Learn more at ForceForChange.com.
Get Ready For May The 4th With Ron Howard's Telling Of "Star Wars: A New Hope"
This video is great!! Ron Howard gives Star Wars : A New Hope the "Arrested Development" treatment. Just in time for May 4th, or Star Wars Day as the fans know it, this vid had me rolling. You know you're in for a good start anytime a vid starts with "Meet Darth Vader." I also really love the totally shameless plug for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Part if me hopes they give all the films this treatment. At least, the original trilogy. Anyway, check it out, & have a great Star Wars Day tomorrow!! Or even better, May the 4th be with you!!
Donald Glover Gives A Tour Of Lando's Millennium Falcon
I'm already convinced that Donald Glover's Lando will be by far the best aspect of May 25th's Solo: A Star Wars Story . This video just added fuel to my fire. Donald Glover gives you a full rundown of Lando's Millennium Falcon, before it became the "hunk of junk" we know it as. The tour is even complete with a walk through of the Cape room. Which, of course, Lando would have a cape room. I can't think of anyone else right now I would pick besides Glover to fill the shoes of Billy Dee Willams. Each time we see more, I'm that much more convinced not only will Lando steal this film, but we missed a great chance. A Lando film's where it's at. He's the main reason I'm excited for this film. Now I'm going to watch this a couple more times to freeze frame all the parts of the Falcon. Because yes, it's that serious. While I'm doing that let me know your thoughts on this video, like, & share.
