"Making Solo" A Little Different Than Recent Featurettes

This little behind the scenes featurette just dropped for Solo: A Star Wars Story , & I immediately had 2 thoughts. The first was just how serious everyone is. You see the ones for Infinity War , Last Jedieven A Wrinkle in Time , & everybody involved looks like they're having a blast. Here it looks like if you even get a smile it's just a courtesy for the camera. I'm wondering if that's a reflection of everything this film went through. The other thing I couldn't get out of my head while watching this was how hard they're selling this. I never thought I'd see a Star Wars  movie get this hard of a push. Don't get me wrong, Star Wars  always spends a ton on marketing. It's just, usually it feels like a celebration. Like they're telling us we're lucky to get another Star Wars.  The marketing for this has seemed more like usual movie marketing. Even a little more desperate though, showing us almost everything they knew we would want in there. Answering all of our Star  Wars  nostalgia questions up front. In comparison to other Star Wars films, it's like they're asking fans to come for the first time, instead of just reminding us when to. Anyway, what do y'all think? Of this featurette, & the marketing in general? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

7 TV Spots For "Solo: A Star Wars Story" Have Filled The Week

Solo: A Star Wars Story had it's big opening night last night. Reviews are as mixed as any modern Star Wars film, & I'm actually hearing good things from my usual trusted spots. I'm hung up on this excessive amount of TV spots released over the week though. Almost every day we've got a new TV spot, & I'm officially throwing up the white flag. It's not that there's a lot. Actually,  it's on point with the last few releases in quantity. It's that most of them are whole scenes, as opposed to remixes of the larger preview. I usually don't even pay them too much mind. I just feel like these showed me a lot. I can't say I've seen too much yet, but I'm definitely at my limit. At least most of what was shown, were scenes everyone knew was going to be in the film. May 25th is two weeks away though. This thing is now in danger of showing me a lot more than I wanted to see on the way in. That all said, you immediately know why they're doing this. The problems this movie went through are almost as excessive as the amount of people who have voiced they don't even really want a Han Solo film. Lucasfilm thinks they have some convincing to do. With that in mind, I think they've totally made their point. This looks really good. A whole lot better than I ever thought it was going to look. It could just be the best scenes, & clever trailers, but in all honesty these trailers do me way better than the trailers for Rogue One  did. I'm pumped. I wanna see this... just no more trailers. What do y'all think of this excessive amount of TV spots? Too much? Quantity aside, what about quality? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Amazing 360 View Of That Notorious Sabacc Game

This will be the coolest thing you see all day! This video Star Wars put up puts you right in the middle of the Sabacc game that made Star Wars history. We all know how this clip from Solo: A Star Wars Story ends, or do we? For all we know this could be the first of many games back & forth between these old friends. This is an awesome way to see it though. It's so much to watch at one time it's almost overwhelming. I'm gonna watch this with some VR goggles, & totally shut off everything next time around. Perfect vid for Star Wars Day! May the Force be with you, & May the 4th be with you!

Get Ready For May The 4th With Ron Howard's Telling Of "Star Wars: A New Hope"

This video is great!! Ron Howard gives Star Wars  : A New Hope the "Arrested Development" treatment. Just in time for May 4th, or Star Wars Day  as the fans know it, this vid had me rolling. You know you're in for a good start anytime a vid starts with "Meet Darth Vader." I also really love the totally shameless plug for Solo: A Star Wars StoryPart if me hopes they give all the films this treatment. At least, the original trilogy. Anyway, check it out, & have a great Star Wars Day  tomorrow!! Or even better, May the 4th be with you!!

Donald Glover Gives A Tour Of Lando's Millennium Falcon

I'm already convinced that Donald Glover's Lando will be by far the best aspect of May 25th's Solo: A Star Wars Story . This video just added fuel to my fire. Donald Glover gives you a full rundown of Lando's Millennium Falcon, before it became the "hunk of junk" we know it as. The tour is even complete with a walk through of the Cape room. Which, of course, Lando would have a cape room. I can't think of anyone else right now I would pick besides Glover to fill the shoes of Billy Dee Willams. Each time we see more, I'm that much more convinced not only will Lando steal this film, but we missed a great chance. A Lando film's where it's at. He's the main reason I'm excited for this film. Now I'm going to watch this a couple more times to freeze frame all the parts of the Falcon. Because yes, it's that serious. While I'm doing that let me know your thoughts on this video, like, & share.

This New "Solo: A Star Wars Story" Featurette Has Me Starting To Think They Can Pull This Off

Solo: A Star Wars Story has had a major share of production problems. Alden Ehrenreich has an uphill battle trying to fill the shoes of Harrison Ford. No one seems to have asked for, or wanted this prequel. A part of me still thinks Lando is going to steal the show. After this featurette though, I've found myself really starting to come around. I'm starting to see a lot more Han in Ehrenreich, it looks like they're covering all the "greatest hits" like meeting Chewie & the winning of the Millennium Falcon, & on top of that, every new thing I see adds to this looking more & more entertaining. I'm getting a western vibe from it, & that actually works for me. I'm totally on board for this as of this featurette. Ron Howard looks like he put Humpty Dumpty together just fine, & any doubts I had I'm putting behind me. I could be wrong, but I think this one is going to be a pleasant surprise. What do y'all think? Are y'all signed onto Solo  yet, or still a little reserved going in? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Chewbacca Actor Gets No Love On New "Solo: A Star Wars Story" Posters

Two things stuck out at me the second I saw these posters for Solo: A Star Wars Story. One could be just me. In that, I feel like these single character posters should give you a feel of the character. These don't. They're all basically the same exact poster. That's just me, & by far not the biggest problem however. The biggest problem is not what's there, it's what isn't. Joonas Suotamo, the actor that plays Chewbacca, is missing. Which they could've easily explained away if everyone else wasn't listed, but even the friggin alien & robot get a credit. How do they miss Chewbacca? That's messed up on so many levels. Joonas is even showing up to Hollywood Studios for Star Wars: Galactic Nights. I don't even know what to say. Mr. Suotamo I am offended for you. What do y'all think of this horrible oversight? Is This That Notorious Game Of Sabacc? New "Solo: A Star Wars Story" TV Spots

Two new TV spots for Solo: A Star Wars Story have been released over the last couple of days. The first shows the meeting of Han & his furry copilot Chewbacca, as well as what could be the notorious game of Sabacc, where Han wins the Millennium Falcon from Lando. (I hope Lucasfilm doesn't miss this marketing chance to sell me a Sabacc deck!) Then, speaking of Lando, we get some exciting team up action in the second TV spot. It's exciting & scary at the same time to see Star Wars giving us something that almost feels like another genre still in the universe. I'm definitely getting a heist film vibe out of all these trailers. Especially, this second TV spot. All in all though, the more I see of this I'm having more & more faith in it actually being a good film. Lord knows all the chips have been stacked against it. I did get a scary feeling for the first time while watching these though. I've heard other people say it, but this is the first time I've wondered, if this is too much Star Wars? Star Wars has always had a certain feel to them. Seeming like almost grand events when they come out. Even the prequels, love or hate, are on another level for me than other films. However, for the first time this one just feels like a movie to me, & that's a little troubling. Hopefully, after actually seeing this I can say I'm wrong, & this is every bit as magical as the other Star Wars films. We won't find out for sure until May 25th. Until then, what do y'all think? Too much Star Wars? As good as this looks, do you think it will hold up? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

New "Solo: A Star Wars Story" Trailer Has Me Still Wanting A Lando Movie

So the new trailer just dropped for Solo: A Star Wars Story , & the biggest thing I once again came to was how much I would rather have a Lando film in its place. Donald Glover seems to just demand attention in every one of these trailers. The more we get of him, the more it shows too. After getting that out of the way though, this is a really solid trailer. If it's a true example of what to expect from Solo, it might actually wind up defying the odds. Finally, I'm starting to get a since of Han out of Alden Ehrenreich. Not much, but I'm starting to see a little of what becomes the smuggler we know & love. I'm also getting the sense that Woody Harrelson is going to deliver, as usual. He looks like he just really slid right into this role. This look here is the first I've actually been fully excited for this movie. It's still just a trailer, I've seen it go pear shaped from here. Going fromjust it though, this film looks like it could be even better than Rogue One: A Star Wars Story . Let me know what y'all think of the trailer below. Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Jon Favreau To Lend His Voice To "Solo: A Star Wars Story"

That's right, Iron Man's right hand man Happy Hogan will be voicing an alien character in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story.  Collider reported this last night as director Ron Howard took to social media to make the announcement. I mean, all in all this usually wouldn't mean much to me. It's just a voiceover that if I'm being honest, I'd probably not even be able pick out if you didn't tell me who. This however is a little different for me because I love me some Jon Favreau. It's even getting to the point now where I don't know which I like more, Jon Favreau the actor, or Jon Favraeu the director. With Iron ManJungle Book under his belt, & Lion King now to come, Favraeu has quickly become one of my favorite directors to look out for. That said his director talents are neck & neck with his on screen talents. Don't believe me check out Chef. There's no way that movie should be as good as it is, but I've even watched it more than once. Anyway, always a great addition. I hope they make us try to figure out who he is. What do y'all think though? To Favreau, or not to Favreau? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Pics & More From "Solo: A Star Wars Story"

Entertainment Weekly is dishing out all kinds of tasty little morsels this week on Solo: A Star Wars Story.  This time with some exclusive new pics I've collaged down there at the bottom. Along with some extras on the film the filmmakers describe as a combination film noir & Western, with buddy comedy elements smuggled inside. Out of all those pics down there I've gotta say, Lando won the trailers & now he's winning the pics as well. He's right at home with the two-headed alien where Glover made sure to mention not only were they playing sabacc, but there's "a lot of it". Maybe he's eluding to a certain game in which a certain ship changes hands? You also get a shot of beautiful, mystery woman Qi'ra played by Emilia Clarke. Whom she describes as having "a couple of guises, but essentially she is just fighting to stay alive." You see Han & Chewie on the back of the Conveyex planning their heist. Second place for these pics goes to the shot of Tobias Beckett played by Woody Harrelson in the Falcon sitting arouund the holochess table. Woody has been my number one drive for wanting to see this film since he was announced. Hoping to up his status with a big heist, he winds up becoming a mentor to Solo. Ron Howard describes him as a "powerful criminal" & "free agent". Going on to say he "really shapes Han more than anybody, as Han comes to believe that in a lawless time, he needs a moral code." If you're like me though you're wondering about the poic of the muddy imperials. That's because it's not who that matters in that pic, it's where. That pic was taken on the swamp world of Mimban. If that souunds familiar it's because Mimban is the setting for the no longer cannon book Splinter of the Mind's Eye.  Can't wait to see what they're drawing from that. Lots of cool stuff though withn the promise of even more to come. What do y'all think of these awesome new pics & descriptions from Solo: A Star Wars Story  ? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Check Out Han Solo On This Weeks Cover Of Entertainment Weekly Along With Some New Details

Entertainment Weekly's upcoming cover story this week is none other than Solo: A Star Wars Story. Two trailers & now this back to back to back are trying to make up for the lack of exposure, at least for a Star Wars film, unusually close to the May 25th release date. With more coming throughout the week they dish some little nuggets on what Lucasfilm prez Kathleen Kennedy describes as "A heist, gunslinger type movie". Speaking of which, that monorail on steroids in the trailer? That's the Conveyex, a train Han must break into & steal something from to impress his new cohorts. Figuring thats the start of where she gets the heist portion from. Han's described as immature, less experienced, & needing to "gain the respect of the people he interacts with, even if they're the lowest of the low." Throughout he'll befriend Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), go crazy in love for shadowy Qui'ra (Emilia Clarke), & of course there's Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) & his droid L3-37. The young smuggler will also cross paths with "career crooks" Tobias Beckett (Woody Harrelson), blaster wielding Val (Thandie Newton), & crime boss Dryden Vos (Paul Bettany). Ehrenreich is then quoted as saying he thinks Han is really just trying to figure out who's good & who's bad. This, the trailers, so far this film sounds awesome. It all is going to hinge on Alden Ehrenreich's portrayal of Han Solo. We'll just have to wait & see. There'll be more coming from this article, there was already some more pics with more details on some of these characters. Until then, what do you think about where this is at so far? At Last, A Trailer For "Solo: A Star Wars Story"

All truth be told, this year's Super Bowl has one reason to have me parked in front of it. Solo: A Star Wars Story. This thing had had a battle to get through, & in all honesty, I expected this to be a little longer. We all know Super Bowl time is pricey though, & this movie has a bit if uncertainty, to say the least. I didn't see anything in this trailer to worry me though. All in all, it looks like we're going to be hitting some familiar "Legends" spots. Looks like Han is trying to join the Empire. In those stories, that's how he meets Chewie. You get your first look at the Falcon, Woody Harrelson, & Donald Glover's pimp-Lando look. Everything looks great, except the big thing that's missing. You literally just get a glimpse of Alden Ehrenreich under heavy shadow. That's been a concern of mine in this one. Probably my biggest concern. Is this guy Han Solo? Everything that is in the trailer is totally on point though. How that unfolds into the whole picture. We'll see as this thing gets closer. What did y'all think though? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
