The title says it all. This trailer has a lot going on in it. Obviously it's gonna take more than the three watches I've had to soak it all in. However, off the top I notice this is going for big. Real big. Whether that comes off as epic or a bunch of screen noise, will really depend on the content around all of it. That's the first thing that comes to my head mainly due to J.J. Abrams track record with me. I’ve always thought he was great starting off stories. Just not at finishing them up. I’ve never been too impressed with his endings. Hence my favorite of his being the first Star Trek remake. Which was basically left wide open, followed by the step back in my opinion that was Into the Darkness. Star Wars wise, there's few things off top that stood out for me. It's looking like the Emperor may have merged with the Death Star. I could be wrong on that, but that's where my head went when I saw the robotic, cloaked figure in front of Rey. Loved the whole their coming together will be there undoing. I’m hoping that's a Rey team-up with Kylo thing, but that just seems too likely to actually be it. Then there was the C3P0 “look at my friends scene. Could be touching, could be corny. Either way glad they showed it so it dosen’t get the Leia Poppins treatment when people see it. A scene I loved, but I think a lot of people wasn’t ready for it. A glimpse might have changed that. Anyway, this trailer displays pretty much all the action that was missing out of the others. I’ll probably notice a hundred more things as I rewatch it. Very busy, but I dug it for what it was. Visually stunning, action eye candy. I love it's called the Final Trailer. As if there's not going to be a million TV spots, clips, & “special looks” bombarding us over the months. What do y'all think of this look though when added to what we’ve already seen? Add whether you were pro- Last Jedi or anti- Last Jedi. As always, put it in the comments, like, & share.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order E3 Trailer & Gameplay
I'm a couple days late on this one, but I wanted to talk about it anyway. A new trailer debuted at E3 for the game Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, along with some gameplay footage. After the trailer at Star Wars Celebration, I've been anticipating this game's release. This new footage adds a familiar face to the fray in the form of Saw Guererra of Star Wars; Rogue One fame. Which tells us this game will have some significance to it when it comes to the storyline in one form or another. The gameplay is highly reminiscent of Star Wars Force Unleashed. Which is by no means a bad thing. The gameplay to Unleashed was it's best factor. That game only really fell short for me in story. Mainly because it felt like an Elseworldy more alternative timeline kinda thing. Obviously though it resembles Force Unleashed, it's definitely an upgraded version. My only concern is it's got some major shoes to fill in my book. The last time I anticipated a game such as I anticipate this one it was Star Wars: KOTOR. This one's edge however is fitting into a storyline I'm highly invested in. If they can pull that off, I'm happy to play just for the film aspect. What about y'all though? What excites you more playing the game, or hearing where it's story fits in? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
"Star Wars: Clone Wars" Season 7 Looks Epic
I wasn't on board with Star Wars: Clone Wars from the jump. I couldn't stand the idea of Anakin having a padwan. Much less one as annoying as Ahsoka. However, somewhere in the mix of watching, I reversed my thoughts on both subjects. I not only fell in love with this series, Ahsoka Tano became one of my favorite characters in the Star Wars universe. I actually felt it when she left the order, & her coming back in Rebels just made that series even greater than it was in my eyes. When I saw the first look at the new season I got concerned as to how they'd explain her back in. This new season trailer for season 7 of Clone Wars has erased all those concerns. I don't even care about the specifics, this looks friggin' awesome. I'm not only in for this run, I already want more. Not only do you have more Tano, but furthering Rex's story, more Maul? I'm super pumped for this! Curious though, what are y'all's thoughts of this new trailer? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Read MoreIs This That Notorious Game Of Sabacc? New "Solo: A Star Wars Story" TV Spots
Two new TV spots for Solo: A Star Wars Story have been released over the last couple of days. The first shows the meeting of Han & his furry copilot Chewbacca, as well as what could be the notorious game of Sabacc, where Han wins the Millennium Falcon from Lando. (I hope Lucasfilm doesn't miss this marketing chance to sell me a Sabacc deck!) Then, speaking of Lando, we get some exciting team up action in the second TV spot. It's exciting & scary at the same time to see Star Wars giving us something that almost feels like another genre still in the universe. I'm definitely getting a heist film vibe out of all these trailers. Especially, this second TV spot. All in all though, the more I see of this I'm having more & more faith in it actually being a good film. Lord knows all the chips have been stacked against it. I did get a scary feeling for the first time while watching these though. I've heard other people say it, but this is the first time I've wondered, if this is too much Star Wars? Star Wars has always had a certain feel to them. Seeming like almost grand events when they come out. Even the prequels, love or hate, are on another level for me than other films. However, for the first time this one just feels like a movie to me, & that's a little troubling. Hopefully, after actually seeing this I can say I'm wrong, & this is every bit as magical as the other Star Wars films. We won't find out for sure until May 25th. Until then, what do y'all think? Too much Star Wars? As good as this looks, do you think it will hold up? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
New "Solo: A Star Wars Story" Full Teaser Is Missing Something
First of all this trailer is way better than I thought it was going to be. Paired with the Super Bowl Spot yesterday, these really give you a feel of what they're going for with Solo: A Star Wars Story. I really dig how this looks, the visuals & lived in Star Wars backdrops are awesome. That shot with the Star Destroyer in pursuit is one of the coolest shots I've seen. I would have that as a poster. The story it looks like they're trying to tell with the "kicked out if the academy" opening, seems like what we want from the film it seems not many wanted in the first place. Then hell, Donald Glover looks so perfect they should've just done a Lando film, & that gets me to what stands out the most for me... Where's Han? Did y'all see him? I've been saying that Alden Ehrenreich had some big shoes to fill. All in all I like to feel I'm pretty open minded. I also didn't want a Harrison Ford impression either. I was looking for at least a glimmer of Han though, I feel like so far I haven't seen it. Maybe it's because it's Han friggiin' Solo. The only character you could've chose I had seen more in my lifetime would be Luke Skywalker. Still, I wanted to see that glimmer of Han that I got from Chris Pine when he picked up the role of Kirk in the new Star Treks. I'll still be there Memorial Day ready to see it, & who knows by the end of all this I could really come around to this guy. He's got some convincing to do along the way is all. What did y'all think though? Am I wrong? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
At Last, A Trailer For "Solo: A Star Wars Story"
All truth be told, this year's Super Bowl has one reason to have me parked in front of it. Solo: A Star Wars Story. This thing had had a battle to get through, & in all honesty, I expected this to be a little longer. We all know Super Bowl time is pricey though, & this movie has a bit if uncertainty, to say the least. I didn't see anything in this trailer to worry me though. All in all, it looks like we're going to be hitting some familiar "Legends" spots. Looks like Han is trying to join the Empire. In those stories, that's how he meets Chewie. You get your first look at the Falcon, Woody Harrelson, & Donald Glover's pimp-Lando look. Everything looks great, except the big thing that's missing. You literally just get a glimpse of Alden Ehrenreich under heavy shadow. That's been a concern of mine in this one. Probably my biggest concern. Is this guy Han Solo? Everything that is in the trailer is totally on point though. How that unfolds into the whole picture. We'll see as this thing gets closer. What did y'all think though? Fourth Season Of Star Wars: Rebels Will Be The Last (Trailer)
In the rolercoaster of emotion that has been Star Wars Celebration this year we have another happy/sad moment. At the Star Wars Rebels panel we got a sweet trailer followed by the news that this season coming this fall would unfortunately be the last. We got confirmation of Saw Gerrera & Mon Mothma, as well as a tease of the possibility of Boba Fett. Executive producer, Dave Filoni made sure to assure everyone that, "This is by no means the end of what we're doing in animation." This is where I mention his shirt, which changed from Ashoka Lives? to Ashoka Lives!, and I have a strange feeling he was hinting at something... As for the trailer, it looks awesome. I've got to be honest though, I've only seen Season 1 so I'm still playing catch-up right now. I didn't have any faith in this show at first, thinking it would be a toned down Star Wars for kids. When my littlest girl started getting into Star Wars I grabbed the "movie". Which was just the two pilot episodes, & before I knew it i had found a great Star Wars series worthy of carrying the name. So I bought Season 1 in it's entirety. Hooked from that point on, I'm currently awaiting Season 2 to show up in my mailbox. This show proves the infinite amount of room Star Wars has to grow, even with all new characters. So all in all, though I can't speak for the new trailer, I can vouch for this series. I'm only one season in & just with that season alone, I can say it totally tops Clone Wars. I'm sure I'll want more after this season ends too, so I'm happy to know if this is the end, it's not entirely the end.
