The title says it all. This trailer has a lot going on in it. Obviously it's gonna take more than the three watches I've had to soak it all in. However, off the top I notice this is going for big. Real big. Whether that comes off as epic or a bunch of screen noise, will really depend on the content around all of it. That's the first thing that comes to my head mainly due to J.J. Abrams track record with me. I’ve always thought he was great starting off stories. Just not at finishing them up. I’ve never been too impressed with his endings. Hence my favorite of his being the first Star Trek remake. Which was basically left wide open, followed by the step back in my opinion that was Into the Darkness. Star Wars wise, there's few things off top that stood out for me. It's looking like the Emperor may have merged with the Death Star. I could be wrong on that, but that's where my head went when I saw the robotic, cloaked figure in front of Rey. Loved the whole their coming together will be there undoing. I’m hoping that's a Rey team-up with Kylo thing, but that just seems too likely to actually be it. Then there was the C3P0 “look at my friends scene. Could be touching, could be corny. Either way glad they showed it so it dosen’t get the Leia Poppins treatment when people see it. A scene I loved, but I think a lot of people wasn’t ready for it. A glimpse might have changed that. Anyway, this trailer displays pretty much all the action that was missing out of the others. I’ll probably notice a hundred more things as I rewatch it. Very busy, but I dug it for what it was. Visually stunning, action eye candy. I love it's called the Final Trailer. As if there's not going to be a million TV spots, clips, & “special looks” bombarding us over the months. What do y'all think of this look though when added to what we’ve already seen? Add whether you were pro- Last Jedi or anti- Last Jedi. As always, put it in the comments, like, & share.
Carrie Fisher & Mark Hamill Will Return For "Star Wars: Episode IX"!!!
The cast has been released for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX . According to StarWars.com, the movie will begin filming at London’s Pinewood Studios on August 1, 2018. J.J. Abrams will return to direct the final installment of the Skywalker saga, with a script by Abrams and co-writer Chris Terrio. The biggest announcement by far was the return of Leia Organa once again played by Carrie Fisher, using previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Another big surprise is the return of Mark Hamill to the role of Luke Skywalker. Probably much more blue & see through than we're used to. Other returning cast members also announced include Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Anthony Daniels, and Billy Dee Williams, who will reprise his iconic role as Lando Calrissian. I'm absolutely giddy with excitement right now. I had remembered a throwaway comment about unused Leia footage, & I've been waiting to see how they were going to handle the unfortunate demise of Carrie Fisher. Hopefully they've got enough footage to really give the character a real worthy send off. Absolutely love the idea of a Luke force ghost. It just seems like the natural thing to do with the character next. Obviously I'm excited for Lando's return. I've mentioned before, he's one of my favorite side characters. Even though he'd probably be pretty upset I see him as a side character. As for the rest of the cast, it's no surprise they're all returning. They're far from finished. Worried about the JJ thing. Not because of JJ himself, I just hope the decision isn't due to the mixed thoughts on The Last Jedi . I dug that one, but mainly I hope they don't injure themselves trying to backpedal. Anyway, yay!!! Carrie Fisher & Mark Hamill! What ya think? Awaiting their return as much as I am? Any theories? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Luke Looks Pissed
I could've just put the title on this & left it at that. Mark Hamill put this up on his Twitter. It's from a magazine in a language I can't understand. So we're going to go with it's called that & it's from a country that is not America. What I do understand however is looks. And the look on Luke Skywalker's face is not only pretty damn intense, it is also the look of anger. Someone pissed in Luke's cornflakes. He's dressed in what looks like a heavier version of his Return of the Jedi garb, & the dark outfit only helps the intensity in the eyes of the farm-boy turned last Jedi. I can't help but wonder what he's so angry at? Yoda warned us where emotions such as these lead. What do you think of this cover? Light on the character we'll see, or just an image? Starting to think Luke might be going a little darker than we thought? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
New Details, Character Motivations, & Pictures Are Coming In As We Get Closer To "Star Wars: The Last Jedi"
We're getting more plot details to the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi as we inch closer to December. First from Variety, where John Boyega (Finn) tells them the Resistance isn't in the best condition. The most telling tidbit came next though, with him going on to say, "It's a chance for each character to decide what side they're fighting for. It's an epic dark story. At the same time it's still fun. It's still Star Wars." I can only take this as everything we saw in The Force Awakens is suspect. There has to be a reason to say this. Therefore, someone or ones not exactly sure they are on the right side. This is intriguing as it backs up a lot of fan-theories going around the interweb. That however, brings us to Entertainment Weekly's 2-part cover story where they mention it might be John Boyega's Finn wanting out of the resistance. Not for any nefarious reasons. More because it's pretty dangerous being part of a militant resistance if you didn't know. However, when he meets Kelly Marie Tran's Rose, he's a hero now. In which, it seems to be the theme of this film is meeting rather disappointing heroes. This brings us to the main part of the EW cover story, because I save the best for last. Luke Skywalker. We get some teasing about whether or not Luke actually knows who Rey is. The most interesting part to me though comes in the form of what got Luke to be the morose hermit we saw in the previews calling for the Jedi's end. That's a far cry from the optimistic farmboy that overthrew the Empire. What happened between Return of the Jedi & The Force Awakens? A little insight to this is given with, “[Luke] made a huge mistake in thinking that his nephew was the chosen one, so he invested everything he had in Kylo, much like Obi-Wan did with my character,” Hamill says. “And he is betrayed, with tragic consequences. Luke feels responsible for that. That’s the primary obstacle he has to rejoining the world and his place in the Jedi hierarchy, you know? It’s that guilt, that feeling that it’s his fault, that he didn’t detect the darkness in him until it was too late.” The rest of this article paints out a Luke Skywalker that is filled with doubt, hoping to find deep down the hero of the rebellion. There's also two more parts to the cover story that feature the mo-capped Dark Side mentor Snoke's Praetorian Guards, that are similar to the Royal Guard of the Emperor. (Hopefully they'll get some action though.) As well as, a shot of Chewie with one of the adorable Porgs of Achc-to, the planet where Rey found Luke doing his hermit thing. I love penguins so obviously I'm crazy about these, & will probably own one in many forms. Those pics will be collaged at the bottom. My mind is racing with how this will all play out though. Is Luke gonna make it though, will he still be good if he does, will Rey continue to the light or fall to the dark, or for that matter will Kylo Ren redeem himself in some amazing way? So many questions, & not too long before we get some answers. What do y'all think about all this though? Any thoughts on who will be on what side come the end of this? Put 'em in the comments, like, & share.
