Sneak Peak At The Worlds Of Star Wars: The Last Jedi

With the clock winding down on the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi here's a look at the different planets we'll be visiting & their real-world counterparts. After seeing this, I think I'm most excited for Canto Night, the casino planet. It seems unlike any other atmosphere we've encountered so far in the Star Wars universe. These on-location spots are breathtakingly beautiful. Between Ahch-to & Crait, I can't tell you which one is a more amazing sight. Probably have to go with Ahch-To, but Crait is still a real visual treat. I've never seen salt flats in person, this makes me think I'll have t remedy that. Anyway, what world are you most excited to travel to in less than a week? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Rian Johnson Gives Some Huge, Small Details On His Upcoming Star Wars Trilogy

"New Characters, new places, let's start.. you know... let's start fresh." With those words to Collider, Rian Johnson has made his upcoming Star Wars trilogy even more intriguing. He also mentioned he will envision the whole of the trilogy, write & direct the first, & we'll have to see form there. My mind's racing as this news starts to narrow the possibilities of what we have coming once this thing gets underway. I'm still suspecting something Old Republic, but who knows? For that, matter how separated can we get? I know I had a hard time getting into Aftermath, & it's mainly because it's characters didn't have that big of a tether to any main Star Wars characters. However, that said, I'm glad I was able to get past that. I really enjoyed that trilogy of books as a whole. Proving it will get me eventually, if the stories good, but will that work on the whole. First impressions do mean a lot to most on the big screen, with second chances coming few & far between. I can't wait to hear more about this. Any ideas out there from y'all on what this could be? Old Republic, Bounty Hunters, or just something out the clear blue? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Big Star Wars Announcements TV Show & A Rian Johnson Written & Directed Trilogy

According to THR in a conference call on Thursday, Bob Iger has confirmed some amazing Star Wars tidbits. First, with a trilogy, first episode to be written & directed by Rian Johnson of the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Then came the long awaited confirmation of a Star Wars universe live-action TV show. Available on the Disney streaming service set to pop off in 2019. The big question on everyone's minds? What are these going to be? Bounty Hunters? Old Republic? Rebellion? Resistance? First Order? Obi-Wan? Probably not. Lucasfilm elaborated that the trilogy "will introduce new characters from a corner of the galaxy that Star Wars lore has never explored." Sooo, Outer Rim? Who knows, I'm curious though. This sounds like what I was thinking about when Disney first bought Lucasfilm, & was talking about extending the universe. As for the TV show, it's going to happen is all I really found out about it. So, lord knows what it will be about, but I will go as far as say expect something big. This sounds like something they're really going to use to tent-pole this subscription service they're going for. I can't wait though, more Star Wars is always good news. What do y'all think though? Lucasfilm Drops "Directing The Last Jedi" Featurette, But I Like These New Posters Even More

There's something special about this featurette Lucasfilm released about Rian Johnson directing Star Wars: The Last Jedi. It was the main thing that resonated with me while watching it. Johnson, when it really comes down to it, is just a fan like us. That being said can you imagine how much will it takes to separate the fanboy from it being time to go to work & get your crap together. I like to think I'm good at managing things, but this? I couldn't dream of walking onto a set like this & trying my hand & furthering one of the greatest pieces of modern mythology. I liked hearing him talk about this experience though. Going back to his days playing with the figures, & taking moments to freak out was awesome little bits, but that was overshadowed by these awesome posters released later. I'm a sucker for these drawn posters, as much as I'm a sucker for porgs, & these posters have both. Can you tell that Lucasfilm has realized the merchandise power of the porg? They're everywhere. And I'm not complaining, I think they're friggin' adorable. Amazing posters though, I could definitely see these going up on my wall. What do y'all think though? Two things... One, these amazing posters, & two, do you think you'd be able to helm "insert your favorite franchise here"? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Offically Finished

And with this picture released on director Rian Johnson's Instagram, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is officially complete. Giving a shout out to the hardest working post production team in the galaxy, he has confirmed that Last Jedi has wrapped & is "in the can". This is exciting news for the one film besides Force Awakens since Disney bought Lucasfilm, to finish without a major hitch. Yes, we tragically lost Carrie Fisher, but her loss is seeming to effect Episode IX far more than it's effects were felt on the actual developments that take place in The Last Jedi. Looks like the only thing left now is the battle for tickets & the wait for December 15th, opening day. Thrilling news though, Last Jedi is officially done. What do y'all think? What's your level of excitement going in? Anything that must happen for your enjoyment? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Why did J.J. Abrams Change His Ending For "The Force Awakens"? That Wasn't The Droid Rian Johnson Was Looking For.

So Rian Johnson is directing the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi, but apparently this will not be his first imprint in the Star Wars universe. In an interview with EW Johnson revealed he had asked J.J. Abrams for a big favor. What was that favor? Nothing big... Just changing his original ending for The Force Awakens. Johnson told EW, "I asked if R2 could come with Rey, & if BB-8 could stay behind with the Resistance."  He goes on to say, "Originally it was BB-8 who went with Rey, which makes sense for the story in a way. But I asked, 'Can you do me this solid & switch the droids?'" We know the outcome, R2D2 accompanies Rey to Luke's island of seclusion to return his lightsaber. Seems like Johnson really wanted to get R2 & Mr. Skywalker back together again. The question is why? It could have something to do with the fact that Rian Johnson also told EW that when first sitting down to write The Last Jedi his first concern was Luke. he said, "Figuring out where his head was at was the very first thing I had to do when writing the movie. I had to crack this. And it had to be something for me that first & foremost made sense. Why did Luke Skywalker go off to this island?" He goes on to say how it has to be something that not only makes sense to Luke, it has to make sense to us. That's not only some amazing insight into The Last Jedi, it's also an awesome look at two people compromising for the sake of the whole. It's always great getting two or more greats on the same page.
