Just around the corner now with a release date of May 2020, Marvel's upcoming Black Widow prequel has released a teaser trailer. The trailer was decent for what it was. It was basically a quick intro to the characters Natasha will meet back up with from her past. Enough to get me a little more intrigued than I was in the first place. Red Guardian seems to be one of the most interesting aspects for me. If they don’t make him a complete joke, he looks like he could be a lot of fun. For me this really hinges on the what & when. I can't pinpoint exactly when this actually takes place. Which will mean a lot, but really takes second place to the what. Because I'm not thinking the actual what of this film, but what it will have to do with the future of the MCU? Much like Captain Marvel, a good prequel has major effects on the now & beyond. I'm wondering what that will be with this? Something here should heavily influence the now & beyond. That's actually my biggest excitement from this film. Good character intro teaser though. Not much on substance, but it’s a teaser. I will say this though, they’re really going t ok have to come out the booth to make this a Marvel film, & not just another spy film. What are y'all's thoughts though? Put ‘em in the comments, like, & share.
Apparently, The MCU Has All Led To This...
This trailer is hilarious! This is set up for Ant-Man & the Wasp tickets going on sale tomorrow, announcing that everything you know & every experience has all led to this. So far, every single time I have any little doubts about this movie they put out a spot I absolutely love. This caught me so off guard. I knew there was going to be a punch line, but that was great. And then it just kept giving the more that came out. Great set up for the desk. I will definitely be grabbing tickets tomorrow. How bout y'all? Put your thoughts in the comments, like, & share.
New Trailer For "Luke Cage" Looks Very Promising
June 22nd is now one of the most anticipated dates on my calendar. This new trailer for Luke Cage season 2 is awesome! I loved the first season's first half. After Cottonmouth's demise however, it quickly fell apart. This one looks like it might fix that downfall by putting Mariah in the crosshairs of new baddie, Bushmaster. Who looks like he's gonna be friggin awesome by the way. Putting Mariah in his line looks like it's gonna be a nice way to curb her story. It puts her under Cage's reluctant protection, effectively switching the narrative to this new, invincible, bullets bounce off him, magic man. This trailer actually looks like this season could top Daredevil , which for me has been the high point for Netflix's Marvel shows. Can't wait though, what do y'all think of this new trailer? "Ant-Man & The Wasp" Delivers Some Interesting Character Posters
These character posters just got released for Marvel's upcoming Ant-Man & the Wasp, & I immediately noticed a couple things. The first was Wasp's costume. I may just be somewhat colorblind, but this is the first I've noticed her costume is blue. I even went back & rewatched the trailers. It reads way darker in those. Not that I care either way, just couldn't believe how much it popped on the poster. Two more of these posters caught my eye as well, with the rest basically just being standard. One was the inclusion of Lawrence Fishburne. I don't know if that's just because he's Lawrence Fishburne, or if it means that we'll be seeing more Goliath than I initially thought. I've loved Fishburne since he was Larry. So, giving him more screen time is a win for me. Always ready to add more heroes or villains to the Marvel universe as well. The second, & possibly main thing I noticed though, was how pissed off Michelle Pfeiffer looks. She's been trapped in the Quantum Realm for awhile. So I wouldn't expect her to he thrilled, but that's some determined anger on her face. That could mean nothing, but I'm all the sudden not the most trusting when it comes to this reunion. That's just me though. Anyone else have thoughts on these? Or thoughts on my insights? Put em in the comments, like, & share.
Mixed Feelings On The TV Spots For "Ant-Man & The Wasp
The past week has brought us a couple new TV spots for Marvel's upcoming Ant-Man & the Wasp . The first of which I was not into at all. The list joke was okay until the end. Definitely not something I'd use for a trailer, & the "save the world" part seemed to drag on a corny joke. A corny joke that would have been a little improved if cut short, ending at the 2A part. This had me a little worried. I loved the first film & liked the trailers for the sequel up to this point. The funny in this film highly matters though, so it needs to be on point. So when we got this next TV spot over the weekend, the "Wassup?" joke in the beginning kept my concerns going. That joke was dated when Scary Movie 2 used it. Does anybody really remember those guys anymore. They give the right response. Just will anybody get it now? I was put right back on though, with the "I eat people" line. That actually made me laugh out loud. All in all I'm thinking this one is really going to be hit & miss with the jokes. It looks like they're amping up the action this time around though. We'll see if that can balance everything out. For that matter we're just talking trailers. I've seen bad films with good trailers & vice versa. I'm honestly just looking forward to a little getaway from the effects of Infinity War , before we have to get psychologically ready for what comes next. Anyway, mixed feels on the TV spots. Concerns, but nothing to turn me away at all. Or really even get me too worried right now, for that matter. What are y'all's thoughts? Put em in the comments, like, & share.
Synopsis For The Fourth "Avengers" Is Causing Mass Speculation
The first description of the untitled Avengers 4 has been spotted in the latest issue of License Global. The new May issue included this vague synopsis for the film: “A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.” Afterwards, the internet has gone crazy with speculation. Even mentioning the illuminati, which would have to be reinvented, a handful a characters are absent from that usual lineup. I'm still leaning towards Secret Wars. That sounds like the best place to take it coming off Infinity War , but only they know for sure. This synopsis does seem to elude to a multiverse fueled film, with it's talk of reality. If that's the case, literally anything can happen. The more I think about it, I'd love to see that. Different versions of what we have now trying to get back right sounds awesome. Anyway, does this pique anyone else's curiosity? Any thoughts as to what's next? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Jake Gyllenhaal Joins "Spider-Man Homecoming" Sequel (UPDATE)
UPDATE: THR reports the character Gyllenhaal will play is none other than Mysterio. With two of my favorite childhood movies being FX & FX2 , adding the villain known for special effects use is right up my alley. This is even more exciting than the addition of Gyllenhaal himself. Sinister 6 might finally see the light after all.
Jake Gyllenhaal is finally about to dive into the comic-book universe. Variety reports the Oscar-nominated actor is set to join the sequel to Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. It’s currently unknown who he's playing, but sources say he would be the new villain. If so he'll join Michael Keaton, who will be returning to reprise his role of Vulture. Tom Holland is returning to play Peter Parker, with Zendaya and Marisa Tomei also coming back for the sequel. Jon Watts is back as director with Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley taking on the script. I absolutely loved Spider-Man Homecoming . Not only is everyone coming back a plus, but this addition is great. Gyllenhaal has been one of my favorite actors since Donnie Darko. I can't wait to see whose shoes he'll be filling. Let the internet begin. His consistency is off the charts though. So I'm sure whatever it is, it will be rememberable. Any thoughts on this addition? Put 'em in the comments, like, & share.
Marvel's "Eternals" Are Coming
In a THR report via Collider, Matthew and Ryan Firpo, whose spec script Ruin was featured at the top of the 2017 Black List, has been hired by Marvel to adapt The Eternals. The story beginning millions of years ago when Celestials genetically experimented on humans, creating the super-powered and near immortal beings the Eternals, and their monstrous counterparts the Deviants. This was originally Jack Kirby's invention, which I'm only vaguely familiar with. It was retold later by Neil Gaiman. That happens to be the iteration I own in Graphic form. It's an amazing story, dig into the roots of the whole Marvel universe. That said, this is gonna be hard to pull off. If Guardians of the Galaxy was a hard sell, this is way more out there than that. If anything was going to try to raise the stakes higher than Infinity War or what's to come next, Eternals definitely raises the bar. I can't wait to see how this one all unfolds. Writers are a big first step. What do y'all think? Familiar with Eternals ? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
New Trailer For Marvel's "Luke Cage" On Netflix
June 22nd we've got another round of Luke Cage coming to Netflix, & I'm not sure what to think. The first half of season 1 was some of the best stuff Netflix has made as a studio. Then they killed off the best character. This has left us with a portion of plot rolling into season 2 that I could care less about. On the other hand, seeing this trailer, Bushmaster looks like a formidable foe. I don't know anything about the character. From the trailer, I'm getting a voodoo vibe. Always makes for a good antagonist. It also looks like we're taking one more step towards "Heros for Hire". That's one of the things I've been looking forward to since the addition of Misty & the Iron Fist. So all in all, this trailer has left me kinda just wondering. There's what I knew would be the inevitable already disappointing leftovers from the end of season 1. However, everything new looks really good. I'll say this, I'm more excited for this now than I was. What do y'all think? Amped up for season 2? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
