This seems way more like what we've grown to expect from Pixar than the upcoming Onward. I say that mainly because I'm definitely more intrigued by the contents of this Soul teaser than any & everything I've seen out of Onward. This feels like it has all the emotion & soul if you will, of previous Pixar films. While the comedy seems like it's there, it by no means seemed to be the only intent. Even in just this teaser I see something that I feel like we’ll be talking about for years. The synopsis that came with the trailer was deep. Directed by two-time Academy Award®-winner Pete Docter, & co-directed by Kemp Powers with Academy Award®-nominee Dana Murray producing, Soul opens in theaters on June 19, 2020. According to Docter, “It started with my son—he’s 23 now—but the instant he was born, he already had a personality,” says Docter. “Where did that come from? I thought your personality developed through your interaction with the world. And yet, it was pretty clear that we’re all born with a very unique, specific sense of who we are.” Soul introduces Joe Gardner, a middle-school band teacher whose true passion is playing jazz. “I think Joe is having that crisis that all artists have,” says Powers. “He’s increasingly feeling like his lifelong dream of being a jazz musician is not going to pan out and he’s asking himself ‘Why am I here? What am I meant to be doing?’ Joe personifies those questions.” The synopsis went on , “In the film, just when Joe (Jamie Foxx) thinks his dream might be in reach, a single unexpected step sends him to a fantastical place where he’s is forced to think again about what it truly means to have soul. That’s where he meets and ultimately teams up with 22 (Tina Fey), a soul who doesn’t think life on Earth is all it’s cracked up to be.” This sounds fabulous! Great talent, & a story that will undoubtedly come with some amazing music, heart, & soul. What did y'all think of this amazing teaser trailer? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
New “Onward" Trailer. Wait, It's About What Now?
I've been wondering what a post-Lasseter Pixar was going to look like. If these trailers for Onward have been any sign, I’m a little worried about what's to come. While this looks like it could be hilarious, & the animation looks great, the previews make it seem like it’ll be somewhat forgettable. Like a DreamWorks film. While they’re good, they don’t seem to stick around & pop up in my everyday life forever like Disney, Disney/Pixar films do. This new trailer gives us a look into the actual plot, & for me it takes yet another step into DreamWorks territory. When both the brother pass 16 their dad left them magic wand that can bring him to life for 1 day. However, when they try, they only bring back his bottom half. The 3 go on a quest to finish the spell & return their dad fully. The unicorns once again were favorite part of the trailer. The rest looks like it could be absolutely hilarious, with a great team in Pratt & Holland. I just don’t know if it's going to move past hilarious to the kind of thing we’re used to from Pixar. Fingers crossed though. I want to see Pixar keep churning out classics. Curious to hear what others think about this one though. Put it in the comments, like, & share.
First Look At The Villain Of "Toy Story 4" In Action In New Clip
Pixar gave us our first look at Toy Story 4's new villain Gabby Gabby. Seeming to fit in newer villains as of late, she comes in as someone that is seemingly good. When you have a set of creepy, voiceless ventriloquist dummies as henchmen we know that they can't be the case though. I have a feeling Christina Hendricks' Gabby Gabby might wind up being the most villainous toy we've ever got in a Toy Story film. This clip paints her out as helping Woody out, but something about it has me thinking her turn is going to be pretty extreme. I don't know if it's the perfectly deceiving good act, or the fact that I can't get over the creepy ventriloquist dummy. I just think this ones gonna be sinister on a level we've not seen from a toy yet. Anyway, what did y'all think of this clip? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

First Official Trailer For Pixar's "Onward"
"Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney and Pixar’s Onward introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there. Pixar Animation Studios’ all-new original feature film is directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae—the team behind Monsters University.” That's the synopsis for the first official trailer for Onward, releasing in theaters on March 6, 2020, & honestly I'm not really feeling this one. Great cast attached, but this doesn't really even feel like a Pixar film to me. It could be great. Judging by just the synopsis & trailer though, it's nothing I'm really excited for. While it looks cute, not only was I not intrigued, it failed in its many attempts to make me laugh. The only thing that really got me was the unicorn gag. I loved that. I just couldn't help but keep thinking this felt like it came out of another studio, like DreamWorks. Hopefully before this comes out I'll see something that gets me excited. What about y'all? I'm curious to see if this did anything for anyone else. Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Second "Official" Trailer For "Toy Story 4"
Even though we've seen a lot of clips from Toy Story 4 so far, this one is calling itself the second Official Trailer for the upcoming Pixar film. After this I'm not sure where the main narrative of this film's going to be. As it seems to keep dancing back & forth between Forky & his rescue, & Woody's relationship with Bo Peep throughout the marketing. This look goes all in on the Forky angle, & if I'm being honest that seems to be the angle I've preferred more so far. Either way it looks hilarious nonetheless. Even though we've seen some of these scenes repeatedly they still made me chuckle. With me all out losing it at the "plush rush" scene. This outing is going to have some highly comedic content from what I've seen so far. Fingers crossed it holds up to the rest of the previous trilogy overall, but if everything we've seen is a hint I think we're safe on that. Very fun trailer though. I just hope it dosen't have a been there done that feel. The Forky rescue does seem like reused Story with new circumstances involved. Anyway, what did y'all think? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
TV Spot For "Toy Story 4" Introduces Us To Duke Caboom
Toy Story 4 is going all in when it comes to the comedy this time around. Fully evident in this new TV spot featuring Duke Caboom. Keanu Reeves' character labeled on the box as the best stunt daredevil Canada has ever seen. Only on the box though, out of the package the reality is totally different. As shown in this TV Spot, in a moment that made laugh so hard I had to watch it again just to see what I missed. Mainly because I highly remember these toys that didn't really live up to their descriptions. It wasn't funny then by no means, but now I can laugh at the false claims we were subjected to as kids. In the days of false advertising lawsuits you don't quite see stuff like this anymore without giant disclaimers. Loved this spot though. Caboom is gonna give Forky a run for being my favorite new character. Once again, June 21st is looking like a date to look forward to. Can't wait to see if this pays off on the emotional level of Toy Story we're used to, & at the same time keep up some of the comedy level these looks keep displaying. Anyway, what did y'all think of this look of Duke Caboom? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Bo Peep Dominates New Toy Story 4 TV Spot
Bo Peep takes center stage along with some of the new additions in this new TV spot for "Toy Story 4". Including a total laugh out loud moment for me involving Ducky & Bunny & a cat. My worries when it comes to this film are starting to fall away with every new look. Luckily there's a lot going on to fill the time until June 21st. Love this spot though, curious what y'all thought? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
All The New Original Material Coming To Disney+ !!
Yesterday Disney unleashed almost everything that will be Disney+, their new streaming service. Along with a couple videos. One, letting us know how it will look. Surprise, it looks like a streaming service. Two, & a video I've watched multiple times, welcomes The Simpsons over from FOX. They also mentioned the price at 6.99. Which puts them significantly lower than Netflix, which they had been saying from the jump, & then through in a launch date of November 12. A huge host of catalog & new releases will so be included. I'll be on board of course, but in case you're not yet, D23 gave full a full synopsis of the new original material, & when to expect all the big shows & films announced:
High School Musical: The Musical: The Series: The 10-episode scripted series, set at the real-life East High, where the original movie was filmed, follows a group of students as they countdown to opening night of their school’s first-ever production of High School Musical. With meta references and some docu-style elements, it’s a modern take on the “classic” from 15 years ago. Show-mances blossom; friendships are tested, while new ones are made; rivalries flare; songs are sung; and lives are changed forever as these young people discover the transformative power that only high school theater can provide.
Timing: Available at launch
I've counted out High School Musical before, & was so wrong. Though this dosen't look great, I'm going in with an open mind. Mainly just because of the total surprise of the originals.
The Mandalorian: The first ever live-action Star Wars series is written and executive-produced by Emmy®-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) directing the first episode. The highly anticipated series features an all-star cast that includes Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, and Nick Nolte. Set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order, the series follows a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
Timing: Available at launch
I've been on with this from it's announcement. Totally trust Favreau to deliver, & a Star Wars "western" sounds amazing.
Diary of a Female President:Told from the narration of her diary, the series follows a Cuban-American 12-year-old girl as she navigates the ups and downs of middle school and her journey to becoming the future president of the United States. Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) and Emily Gipson (I Can and I Will) will executive produce along with Ilana Peña (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend).
Timing: Year One
I don't know if I'm the demographic for this one. Dosen't sound like something I can't wait to see, but it does sound like something I want my daughter to watch. So, I'll check it out nonetheless.
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: Anthony Mackie will return as Falcon and Sebastian Stan will reprise his role as Winter Soldier in the new Marvel Studios series.
Timing: Year One
This sounds great. I keep wondering if we keep getting the back & forth of who's Cap's best friend? I can only hope.
Loki: Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role as Loki in the new Marvel Studios series.
Timing: Year Two
One of the most fleshed out villains we've got from the MCU, & I can't wait to get into this series. Looks like we'll have to with it's year 2 scheduling.
Untitled Cassian Andor Series: Diego Luna will reprise his role of rebel spy Cassian Andor in this series set during the formative years of the Rebellion prior to the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire. Alan Tudyk will also reprise his role as K-2SO with Stephen Schiff (The Americans) as showrunner and executive producer.
Timing: Year Two
Out of Rogue One, the two returning for this series were two of my three favorite characters. Very curious for where this will go.
WandaVision: Elizabeth Olsen will return as Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany will reprise his role as The Vision in the new Marvel Studios series.
Timing: Year Two
Probably the least I'm excited for these Marvel series, but that's not saying much. I'm still super pumped to see if they can get me more interested in this than the comics did.
Forky Asks a Question: Forky, from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4, is a craft project created from trash, so he has important questions about how the world works, such as: What is love? What is time? And of course, the deepest question of all, What is cheese? He explores all of these questions and more in a series of 10 shorts.
Timing: Available at launch
This is already my favorite character from a movie I haven't even seen yet. I doubt that will change by the time this comes out.
SparkShorts: Disney+ will be the exclusive home of SparkShorts, the Pixar Animation Studios short film series designed to discover new storytellers and explore new storytelling techniques from across the studio.
Timing: Available at launch
I've loved ore of these than I haven't. Can't wait to see if they add more to their already impressive lineup.
Lamp Life: Bo Peep makes a big comeback in Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4 and she leads the way in the all-new animated short film, finally answering the questions about where Bo was since we last we saw her in Toy Story 2.
Timing: Year One
I only wish we could see this before the release of Toy Story 4. Curious to say the least.
Monsters at Work: Inspired by the characters of Pixar’s Monsters, Inc., the animated series from Disney Television Animation picks up six months after the events of Monsters, Inc. and follows Tylor Tuskmon, an eager and talented young mechanic who works on the Monsters Inc. facilities team but dreams of working his way up to the Laugh Floor. Returning cast members Billy Crystal, John Goodman, John Ratzenberger, Bob Peterson, and Jennifer Tilly will join new cast members Ben Feldman, Kelly Marie Tran, Henry Winkler, Lucas Neff, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Stanton.
Timing: Year One
I hope we get the same animation. If so, count me 100% in for a new round in Monstropolis. Love the Laugh Floor at Magic Kingdom.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: The Emmy® award-winning animated series will be returning with 12 all-new episodes exclusively on Disney+. This will mark the return of classic characters Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Padmé Amidala, as well as fan-favorites Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex.
Timing: Year One
Uh. Yeah. One of my favorite series is continuing? I'm in. So in. Can't wait to see where this picks up, & if it holds up to the original.
Marvel’s What If…?: Marvel Studios’ first animated series, taking inspiration from the comic books of the same name. Each episode will explore a pivotal moment from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turn it on its head, leading the audience into uncharted territory.
Timing: Year One
Oh the places they can go with this. One of my favorite comic concepts, I'm super pumped for this twist on the MCU.
Encore!: Executive producer Kristen Bell brings together former castmates of a high school musical, tasking them with re-creating their original performance in a high school reunion like no other. Emotions run high as the former students face faded friendships, former flames, self-doubt, and killer choreography. Through it all, these unlikely groups of friends—with the help of Broadway’s best—just might pull off a standing-ovation-worthy performance of beloved musicals like The Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, Annie, and more.
Timing: Available at launch
Actually more pumped for this than the High School Musical series. Sounds like a lot of fun.
Untitled Walt Disney Imagineering Documentary Series: The documentary series chronicles the 65+-year history of Walt Disney Imagineering with parallel storylines of the people, the craft, and the business. Created by Academy Award-® and Emmy-® nominated director and producer Leslie Iwerks, the series includes exclusive interviews and never-before-seen footage from Disney’s parks around the world.
Timing: Available at launch
I could watch Immagineering footage for days. This is so up my alley. I love this stuff.
Marvel’s Hero Project: The series, produced by Marvel New Media in partnership with MaggieVision Productions, reveals the remarkable, positive change several young heroes are making in their own communities. These young heroes have dedicated their lives to selfless acts of bravery and kindness, and now, Marvel celebrates them as the true Super Heroes they are.
Timing: Available at launch
Real life heroes. Once again one I'm not 100% excited for, but will make my children watch.
The World According to Jeff Goldblum: Through the prism of Jeff Goldblum’s always inquisitive and highly entertaining mind, nothing is as it seems in this new series. Each episode is centered around something we all love—like sneakers or ice cream—as Jeff pulls the thread on these deceptively familiar objects and unravels a wonderful world of astonishing connections, fascinating science and history, amazing people, and a whole lot of surprising big ideas and insights.
Timing: Available at launch
Anything through the eyes of Jeff Goldblum would be amazing. Count me so in for this one.
Be Our Chef: What if your family had the chance to create the next great Disney Parks dish? Hosted by Angela Kinsey, Be Our Chef invites families from diverse backgrounds to join a Disney-inspired cooking competition at Walt Disney World that is positive and playful in tone. In each episode, two families will participate in a themed challenge based on their family traditions and the magic of Disney. The finalists will apply what they have learned to create a dish that represents their family through a Disney lens.
Timing: Year One
Thanks to Ramsay I now love cooking shows, & to me, there's no food better than Dismey Parks food. This is must see material.
Cinema Relics: Iconic Art of the Movies(working title): Cinema Relics is an anthology series that takes a unique look at beloved films through the props and costumes (now modern “artifacts”) that made them unique—from the craftspeople who created them, the actors who interacted with them, and the collectors/archives who own and cherish them. The show will be hosted by film historian/collector Dan Lanigan. Among the films featured in the first eight episodes are Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Mary Poppins, The Muppet Movie, Tron, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Cinema Relics is produced by ABC Studios, Alternative and executive produced by Jason Henry and Dan Lanigan.
Timing: Year One
Just as up my alley as the Immagineering show. I love stuff like this.
Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2: As never before in its near-century-long history, Walt Disney Animation Studios is opening its doors, allowing cameras to capture in intimate detail how the voice cast, directors, and team of artists come together to create Frozen 2. This multi-episode documentary series shows the hard work, imagination, heart, fun, and intensity that go into making one of the most highly anticipated Disney Animation features of all time.
Timing: Year One
After the trailer, I'm pretty sure Frozen 2 Is going to shatter some records. Even if I didn't want to see this, & I so do, I'm sure a certain 5yr old would demand it.
Magic of Animal Kingdom: In the heart of Central Florida, a team of more than 1,000 highly respected animal-care experts, veterinarians, and biologists perform groundbreaking work at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park and Epcot SeaBase aquarium. Now for the first time, National Geographic will offer viewers an all-access pass into the 24/7 world of the incredible animal caretakers running one of the most advanced veterinary facilities in the world.

My favorite "zoo" in the world. I will definitely check this out to see a little more of what makes it tic.

Timing: Year One
Yeah. You said Marvel right? Nuff said.

With the help of a specialized expert, each family will go on a unique journey to confront the family’s dilemma head on. Can they finally come together as a family to overcome their obstacles… and reconnect?
Timing: Year One
First thing I might skip. Dosen't really grab me. I'll have to see more.
Rogue Trip: Renowned journalist Bob Woodruff travels the world with his 27-year-old son, Mack, and visits all of the places your average tourist is least likely to venture—the roguish, often misunderstood, and frequently overlooked corners of the world whose hidden corners surprise, amaze, and inspire. This is the family vacation most of us are least likely to take.
Timing: Year One
This however, sounds super interesting. I'll just have to make sure the wife don't watch this without me.
Shop Class (working title): A new competition series featuring teams of inventive students, who are tasked with designing, building, and testing new contraptions. In each episode a panel of experts will rate their work based on engineering, design, and the final test of the build. In the final episode, one team will be named Shop Class Champs.

Now it’s up to Noelle to scour the globe to find him, bring him home, and save the Christmas season. Cast also includes Kingsley Ben-Adir, Billy Eichner, Julie Hagerty, and Shirley MacLaine.

The movie, executive-produced by Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh (creators and executive producers of the long-running Emmy Award-winning series Phineas and Ferb), centers on Phineas and Ferb as they set out across the galaxy to rescue Candace, who has been abducted by aliens and has found utopia in a far-off planet, free of pesky little brothers. Reprising their roles are: Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn; Vincent Martella as Phineas Flynn; Caroline Rhea as their mom, Linda; Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus; Alyson Stoner as Isabella; Maulik Pancholy as Baljeet; Bobby Gaylor as Buford; Olivia Olson as Vanessa; Tyler Mann as Carl; and Povenmire and Marsh as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and Major Monogram, respectively. David Errigo Jr. joins the cast as Ferb Flynn.
Timing: Year One
One of my favorite modern animated series. This has been long awaited.
Stargirl: Based on the critically-acclaimed New York Times best-selling Young Adult novel of the same name, this teen coming-of-age story is about Leo Borlock (Graham Verchere), an average 16-year-old who is content to fly under the radar until an offbeat and unconventional new student named Stargirl (Grace VanderWaal) shows up at his high school, turning his and everyone else’s world upside down, forever changing the way they see themselves and each other.
Timing: Year One
Gonna have to see more on this one. Not sure if I'm in just based on this description. Not familiar with the source material.
Timmy Failure: Based on the book Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made by Stephan Pastis from the beloved illustrated book series of the same name, Timmy Failure is helmed by Academy Award®-winning director Tom McCarthy with a screenplay by McCarthy & Pastis, and tells the story of Timmy, our quirky, deadpan hero, who along with his 1,500 pound polar bear partner, Total, operates TOTAL FAILURE INC., a world-class detective agency (at least in Timmy’s mind anyway).
Timing: Year One
Once again, not familiar with the source material, but just the description on this does have me intrigued.
Togo: Based on a true-life adventure in the Alaskan tundra, this story takes place in 1925, when an epidemic of diphtheria breaks out in a remote Alaskan town, causing countless children to fall gravely ill. The necessary antitoxin is hundreds of miles away, across treacherous terrain with a massive storm on the horizon. As the crisis grows more desperate, the village leaders realize their only hope lies with one man—Leonhard Seppala (Willem Dafoe) and his lead sled dog, Togo.
Timing: Year One
I'm sure this will be amazing. Disney has proved time & again they're great at telling these stories.

Toy Story 4 Spills It On Some New Characters, Including The Villain
Toy Story 4 is bringing us some new characters. We've already met Ducky & Bunny, but thanks to an Entertainment Weekly exclusive now we've got some more new faces in the form of some of the lost toys. First up, there's the guarded secret of Keanu Reeves' character. Up until now there was no mention of who he'd be voicing in the new installment. Niw we know a little about Duke Caboom. A 70's motorcycling action figure that's the "greatest daredevil in Canada." That is, except for the fact he's never actually been able to pull of any of the stunts in his commercials. Next up, we've got Officer Giggle McDimples. She's a Polly Pocket inspired character. An officer from the Giggle McDimples line of toys. As well as Bo's best friend, to be voiced by Alli Maki. Last but definitely not least, what looks like the creepiest villain ever to grace a Toy Story, Gabby Gabby. A creepy 1950's doll with an voiceless group of henchmen in the form of ventriloquist dolls. This creepy old doll is said to be perfect, except she has one broken thing keeping her form being purchased & loved. Her Annabelle vibe has her down as probably the lost toy I'm most excited for. However, Duke Caboom comes in a very close second, just because of how much I love Keanu Reeves. Just a few more things to get me more excited for Toy Story 4. How bout y'all? What's your favorite synopsis when it comes to these new characters? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Read MoreOfficial Trailer For "Toy Story 4" Released
This official trailer is the first real trailer for the upcoming Toy Story 4. And if anything, it proved that the Toy Story franchise has found yet another way to tug on our heartstrings. June 21st we'll see Woody embark on an adventure to find a runaway toy that was homemade by little Bonnie from a spork. Forky is her favoritest toy in the world right now, & losing it would crush her. If that wasn't enough to get to us Woody seems to find another purpose in this trailer as he's reunited with Bo Peep. Who's been living amongst a group of lost toys. She starts to show him all the things a life outside of a child has to offer. Meanwhile, the rest of the gang attempt a rescue of their own it looks like. I was very pleasantly surprised by this trailer. I found myself wondering if it was to late for this. Not to mention, it's always dangerous to add a fourth to a trilogy. Especially a trilogy that's considered perfect like Toy Story. Just based on what we've seen here though this will contain all the heart of the originals, & leave us all weeping like little babies all over again. This has done exactly what it was supposed to do. It's amped up my excitement level more than it was before. I'm now all in for this round 4 with Woody, Buzz, & the rest of the gang. How about y'all though? What do y'all think after this? One too many, or has this put you on the same page as me, ready to go? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
SparkShorts' "Kitbull" Is Hard To Watch Greatness
The third in the lineup of Pixar's SparkShorts has debuted, & it's unique in many ways. Titled Kitbull, it's animation is not the normal fare you'd expect from Pixar. Using gorgeous 2D animation, it gives off more of a Disney Animated Short vibe. If it wasn't for the intensely heavy story attached to it, I would think that's where it belonged. However, this very tastefully, & nonchalantly dealt with heavy subject matter that literally brought tears to my eyes. I'm a big animal person, & I've always said the bad rap pitbulls get are do to humans more than the dog itself. This shirt hits that nail right on the head. When they reveal where this is going I lost it. Angry & in tears at the same time I watched as this went on to prove everything I've always said. However, it was once again the subtlety that was used to convey this gruesomeness that impressed me the most. This could've been overwhelmingly in our face, but was, in glorious Pixar fashion, somehow toned down. Making it a somewhat innocent approach to an absolutely horrible subject matter. Loving & missing my own pitbull, this was a very hard watch. However, the cuteness factor, & pure love involved in this story revolving around the implied hate made this pure greatness. I loved this cartoon short. It made me go through every emotion possible in about 8 minutes, & that itself is a tall feat. Animal Welfare agencies should make this there new mascot of sorts. Curious, did this hot anyone else as hard as it hit me? And like me, did you still thoroughly enjoy it as much as myself?
Second Pixar SparkShort "Smash And Grab" Was Everything I Hoped For!
This is how you hand over heavy handed material & still keep it innocent & entertaining! The second of the SparkShorts, Smash and Grab , is everything I've grown to expect from Pixar. It keeps its message disguised under a highly entertaining short about to robot friends just trying to get away. While at the same time covering over the struggle of mundane, everyday real life work that never seems to payoff. These robots just want to reach an unreachable goal of ascending to the ranks of the ones they work for everyday. Literally tied to their underling positions, for without then they'll die. Never experiencing the true freedom of not needing to keep working. I'm sure there's a higher percentage of people that can relate to this than can't. The real beauty here though, besides the animation, is how well its material is hidden. That's the real Pixar trick. From a child's eyes this will be read as two friends that just want to get away & be free together. While the rest is left up to an adult's view to decipher. I love how this was pulled off, & will definitely be sharing this one with my loved ones. This actually felt like it deserved the Pixar name. What did y'all think? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Really Letdown By The First Pixar SparkShort "Purl"
So, I noticed last night I had missed the first SparkShort from Pixar, Purl. I was really excited to sit down & watch it. However, upon doing so I was not only totally let down, but also glad I chose to watch this before watching it with my littlest child. I've always applauded Pixar for adding adult themes in disguise to their amazing animated movies, but this attempt pretty much totally abandoned the disguise. What you get instead is a very heavy handed short dealing with women equality in the workplace. Nothing I'm against at all by the way, I'm known for mainly hiring teams of women myself. I'm just not a fan of how this was pulled off in this short. One cute character overlay does not work to disguise the approach, containing an adult joke, & a curse word. Which in my spare time I'm pretty sailor mouthed myself, but I don't need my littlest jumping up saying, "You bet your ass!" just because the cartoon says it. Over the years I've seen Pixar hide very mature themes of love, growing old, death, self worth, & more, & I feel like to their standards this was a complete fail. While I appreciate its message, I'm just highly let down by its execution. I hope to get more from the next SparkShorts. At least something I can share with my kids. Until then check it out, & let me know your thoughts. Put 'em in the comments, like, & share.
Big Game TV Spot For "Toy Story 4"
Proving how expensive Superbowl ads have become Disney went for before with their Marvel ads, & after the game for this "Toy Story 4" ad. This clip totally made me laugh out loud too. Woody & Bo Peep get to a carnival, when Bo Peep asks where's Buzz. When Woody tells her he'll probably catch up, you skip to Buzz getting attached to a fence as a carney game prize. This gives us what I'm betting us the first actual scene with Ducky & Bunny, & it's great. I myself, don't think the intro scene for them we got earlier is actually in the film. This however, I'm guessing definitely is. Not wanting to loose their spot as top prize to Buzz, they fight back. Hilarity ensues. I really liked this, once again short, 30 second, trailer. Just enough to get a laugh, & showcase one of the set pieces for the film. Yet, at the same time, not really give away anything. That's 3 short trailers for the big game, & I dug everyone of them. In fact, it might be time to hang up the long super trailer, go back to these. Less to speculate on might help overall results of people being let down due to drawing their own conclusions. Pixar Introduces "SparkShorts"
This is a really awesome concept! Disney*Pixar is opening up the studio to every department to create their own shorts. With a limited budget Pixar's looking for the next big thing in animation, that might just happen to be right under their nose the whole time. I can't wait to see these. In the wake of Lasseter's departure they're desperately going to need some new creative spark. Which is exactly what they're looking for here. Hence the name, SparkShorts. I'm already more interested in this than I was with the announcement of Onward . Their next big film, supposed to come next year. I love it the "little guys" get a chance to shine. You usually find some real magic there. Anyway, what's your thoughts on this new project? Put 'em in the comments, like, & share.
"Disney Empire" Starts The New Year Off Right With "From Now On"!
If you haven't seen this video yet, drop what you're doing & take some time to watch it. This thing almost brought me to tears, & at some points made me shout with excitement. All while doing the dishes. I'm working on a Top 10 video for my most anticipated items this year, & this gives a small look at a lot of them. Normally this is where I'd talk about what I liked most in the video posted, but in all honesty, I don't want to spoil it. Plus, like I said, I'll be talking about a lot of this later on today or tomorrow. I will say, bravo Disney!! This is how you boldly go into a new year. I was already pumped, but this totally put me over. I hope ya'll enjoy this video as much as I did. This is gonna be a big year, filled with limitless possibilities.
Another Teaser For "Toy Story 4" Introduces Key & Peele's Ducky & Bunny!
Yesterday you met Forky from next summer's Toy Story 4. Today you meet Ducky & Bunny, voiced by the multi-talented comic duo Key & Peele. Woody's gonna get a look at Carney Toy life. These guys get interrupted trying to win their freedom from a life tacked on a wall by Woody & friends. This is one of the things I've liked the most about these movies. The different locales. Being toys, you would figure these films would be hard pressed to get these guys some different scenery. Everytime though, they find new ways to get these toys around from place to place. Can't believe we've got both of these teasers back to back. I love 'em. So far, this has been a really fun way to introduce new characters. What do y'all think? Excited to see the behind the scenes life of Carney Toys on June 21st? I know I am! Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Soo, That's A Thing... Toy Story 4 Teaser
Wow! A totally unexpected Toy Story 4 teaser dropped with some totally unexpected content in the form of what I'm hoping is a significant new character. All is happy in the opening of this teaser. All our friends are together. Until the debut of a homemade spork toy. This is followed by chaos after declaring he shouldn't be there because he's not a toy. For those who have managed to not be familiar with a spork somehow, it's the lovechild of a spoon & a fork. Resulting in a spiked-tipped spoon. Which if you add googly eyes & some pipe cleaners, becomes a very cheap spiky-haired, action-less action figure. Great announcement teaser though. What did y'all think? "AUNTIE EDNA" Short Coming With Home Release
"Many of you have suggested we show what transpired the night E babysat Jack-Jack. Well, we were WAAAY ahead of you!" With those words Brad Bird might've just tweeted out what could wind up being my new favorite part of Incredibles 2, AUNTIE EDNA, a new short directed by story supervisor Ted Mathot. This will be for the special features in in the home release, on Digital 10/23 and Blu-rav 11/6. I had a feeling they wouldn't waste the opportunity when I saw the film. This is gonna be great. Not only that, this is my daughter's favorite 2 characters. She's gonna be ecstatic when she finds out. Are we the only ones? Who else needs this in their life? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Countdown To "Incredibles 2" With Two New Clips
I can't believe we're close to only a week away from Incredibles 2 . I got my tickets so long ago, I didn't even know we were this close. Disney*Pixar just released these 2 new clips for anyone that's still not quite on board. These clips fill in two scenes that have already been heavily featured in the trailers. Which is great in itself, just because we only spoil scenes we've basically already seen. Great movie marketing. These are great clips to extend on too. The cookie clip has Frozone seeing what Mr. Incredible has been going through while playing "Mr. Mom". This clip has some great one-liners in it, & if this is something we can hope to experience throughout.. we're in for a real treat. The second clip is more of the scene that I'm guessing opens the film. If so, probably the debut of Frozone this time around as well. Everyone really gets a chance to shine here, & I can't wait to see the rest of this action sequence. These have got me tallying down the days until next Wednesday. I signed up for the double feature, so I'm really going to get to see how this weighs against the first next Wesnesday. Anyway, what do y'all think of the clips? Put it in the comments, like, &
