D23 Animation Panel Features Coco, Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph, Toy Story & More

The more I hear about this panel the more I have to think it seemed like more show than substance. That's not a bad thing either, all they want out of these is tease & hype. I wasn't there at all, I'm just going off the small amount of info that was really revealed vs. the scale of the show that accompanied. It is Disney however, & it is all about the show when it comes down to it. Hosted by John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Pixar & Walt Disney Animation Studios. It was a total star studded event. Filled with all kinds of behind the scenes goodies. Here's a quick breakdown of everything:

Untitled Disneytoon Studio Film: First we'll talk about this original new animated picture from Disneytoon Studios. On April 12, 2009 we'll explore the future of aviation all the way to the stars. Directed by Klay Hall & Bobs Gannaway, & produced by Ferrell Barron, I didn't really get enough out of anything I heard to form an opinion on this one. All I've heard was the Space Shuttle had eyes.

Untitled Dan Scanlon Film: Currently in production from Pixar Animation Studios, the director of Monster's University brings us this new original film set in a "suburban fantasy world". Scanlon, talked about losing his father at an early age & went on saying the film is inspired by the question, who was my father? In a world populated by elves, trolls, & sprites we follow 2 elf brothers that lost their fathers when they were too young to remember. With a little magic they take on a quest to that will allow them one last day with their father.

Coco: Right around the corner, I figured the push on this would be a total spectacle. I was right, this ended the show with a bang. Nov. 22, 2017 Pixar's Coco will give us a look at music loving Miguel. Though his family banned music long ago, he follows his love all the way to the Land of the Dead. There he meets his extended family, & in his journey home try to reveal the truth behind his family's ban of tunes. Lee Unkrich (Director), Adrian Molina (co-director), & Darla Anderson shared details of the film with the audience. Followed by the first public performance of Remember Me from the upcoming movie by Anthony Gonzalez (Miguel) & Benjamin Bratt (Ernesto de la Cruz). By the time all was said & done more that 160 performers were on stage, including the Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea, Ballet Folklorico de Los Angeles, & the Gordon Goodwin Big Phat Band. Even though this movie sounds like we may have seen it before (The Book of Life), & it does sound pretty close, I can't help but be really excited to see Pixar's take.

CocoD23.jpg

Olaf's Frozen Adventure: It's only natural to bring this one up next, as it will be the opener for Pixar's Coco. Kristen Bell (Frozen's Anna) came out to introduce this holiday adventure featuring the characters of Frozen. The trailer looked great to this 22-minute short will be directed by Kevin Deters & Stevie Wermers-Skelton (Prep & Landing), & produced by Roy Conli (Big Hero 6). Best of all it features my favorite snowman, Olaf. Speaking of Olaf, that's what happened next. Josh Gad (Olaf) surprised the audience with a live performance of the featurette's song That Time of the Year. You just never know what going to happen at D23.

Frozen 2 (Title TBA): Not much was really revealed about the upcoming sequel to 2013's much acclaimed Frozen. A behind-the-scenes video of the research trip to Norway, Finland, & Iceland was shown. Considering Nov. 27, 2019 is a little more than a hop, skip, & jump away, I wasn't expecting much more.

Toy Story 4: Josh Cooley (Riley's First Date?) was invited to the stage to reveal him as the sole director of Toy Story 4, accompanied by a behind-the-scenes day in the life at the studio film. This will be produced by Jonas Rivera (Inside Out) & is going for a June 21, 2019. Once again not too close, so I wasn't really expecting much. They teased some new characters, including a paper doll, but nothing to exciting.

Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2: Directors Rich Moore & Phil Johnston introduced Sarah Silverman (Vanellope von Schweetz), in what I knew was going to be something big, as this one is coming next year on Nov. 21, 2018. Silverman introduced a clip from the sequel, letting us know she has a glitch so she, along with returning Ralph (John C. Reilly), Fix-It Felix (Jack McBrayer), Sergeant Calhoun (Jane Lynch), & newcomer, website owning algorithm Yesss (Tariji P. Henson), ventures into the internet. In the clip they find themselves at Oh My Disney where they run into the Disney Princesses, 3-D animated no less. I've heard it's a really funny scene that was then blown away. How? As they go on to tell everyone that the actual princesses came back to reprise their roles, they figured seeing was believing. Auli'i Cravalho (Moana), Kristen Bell (Anna), Kelly MacDonald (Merida), Mandy Moore (Rapunzel), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Irene Bedard (Pocahontas), Linda Larkin (Jasmine), Paige O'Hara (Belle), & Jodi Benson (Ariel) took the stage, blowing everyone away. Can't wait to see this movie, I loved the first. I would say people seemed most buzzed about this, if it wasn't for the next entry.

Incredibles 2: I can't believe it's taken this long to finally get a sequel to this movie. However, June 15, 2018 we will finally get to visit this super-powered family again for the first time since 2004. This started with a look into what the fashion world thinks of Incredibles stylist Edna Mode. Featuring Heidi Klum, Kendall Jenner, Zac Posen, & Rachel Zoe, this thing was hilarious. I love Edna Mode. She was one of my favorite parts of the original film. Next up, director Brad Bird (Voice of Edna too) was brought on with Craig T. Nelson (Mr. Incredible), Holly Hunter (Mrs. Incredible), Violet (Sarah Vowell), Dash (newbie Huck Milner, & Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson). They revealed details of a bigger universe, containing new allies & an all new villain. The first one is still the best rendition of Fantastic 4 we've ever had. I've been waiting for this for awhile, & I think as superhero crazed as everyone is this will go over even better this time around. There was also a unfinished clip featuring Jak Jak coming into his powers. Mr. Incredible falls asleep watching the baby. Next thing you know Jak Jak comes into all his new powers while fighting a raccoon. I've heard this was hilarious. I hope we get to see it when it's finished.

New Photos From Disney's "A Wrinkle In Time" Feature Heads Looking At Seemingly Very Interesting Things

Yeah, not to much to this one. Entertainment Weekly released these pictures from the upcoming Disney remake A Wrinkle In Time. Thankfully, there is a trailer coming soon, because this is nothing. You get some heads looking off at something that is probably really interesting. Nonetheless, it's still just basically mugshots. I want to see what they're looking at. Although, Oprah should rock the bedazzled eyebrow thing she's got going all the time. Really though, I remember seeing the original as a kid. Even then I thought it was intriguing. Teen Meg (Storm Reid) tries to find her missing father (Chris Pine). She's then transported through time & space via a tesseract due to three supernatural ladies, Mrs. Who (Mindy Kaling), Mrs. Whasit (Reese Witherspoon), & Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey). Back then they just couldn't quite pull it off though. That's why I say I want to see what they're looking out. I think with today's effects they can really do something with this. Can't wait for the trailer, I hope this leads to more old Disney classics that they didn't have the means or budget for to be revisited. What do you think of these heads? And what are they all staring at? Any Ideas? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.

Disney Having No Luck On It's Quest For A Street Rat

According to the John Campea Movie Vlog, it's looking like Will Smith will be filling the impossible to fill shoes of the Genie in Guy Ritchie's upcoming live action remake of Disney's Aladdin. Starting on schedule to film this month might pose a problem though, considering they can't find their leads. Specifically, with Jasmine at least having some names in the works, it seems they're really having a hard time with locking down an Aladdin. Naomi Scott (Power Rangers) leads the narrow list for the role of Jasmine. Yet the real problem is, with over 2,000 people auditioned, an Aladdin is still nowhere in sight. Production has been pushed back to August, while Disney has even started to consider abandoning the getting an unknown. I hope not, I don't mind Naomi Scott in Power Rangers. She's a rather fresh face as is. I really liked the idea of a total unknown for Aladdin though. It worked wonders for Moana. What do y'all think? Should Disney abandon the search for an unknown or keep trying? Let me know in the comments, like, & share.

Perfect Casting Of Zazu For Live-Action Lion King

Joining what is shaping up to be a cast of perfection rivaling the live-action Beauty & the Beast is John Oliver. In an exclusive with The Wrap the host of Late Night With John Oliver will be taking on the role of the red-tailed hornbill that serves as advisor to the king. He joins already confirmed Donald Glover (Simba), James Earl Jones (Mufasa), & Seth Rogen & Billy Eichner (Pumbaa & Timon) with director John Favreau. This is awesome news to me. I love this guy. No one can do the Daily Show better than John Stewart, but John Oliver was pretty darn impressive when he took over. His own show now continues to be entertaining. I can't think of a better fit for this part, & this movie is shaping up to sound really good so far. What do y'all think about this casting so far? put it in the comments, like, & share.

Ever Wonder What Happened To Andy's Dad From Toy Story?

Toy Story fans, this video is really worth checking out if you've ever been curious about not only what happened to Andy's dad, but also the origins of Woody. Super Carlin Brothers had a sit down with Mike Mozart, friend of late Pixar Head Writer Joe Ranft, & he relayed the story as it was told to him. I'll give you an in a nutshell version. Watch the video for full details. Anyway, the house from Toy Story was Andy's Dad's parents house. Also named Andy as a child he loved Woody's Roundup, which was presented by a cereal company. In order to sell cereal to get their Woody toy you had to send in box-tops. Andy senior's parents were not so well off so he came up short on box-tops, but sent in anyway with a letter explaining he was Woody's biggest fan. The show got cancelled before the Woody's went to manufacturer & the toy hit the trash. It was later picked up by a secretary, who got Andy senior's letter, & she sent it to him. That's why Woody didn't know of his show. It was cancelled & he never came into contact with the other toys. This is where it got intense. Andy senior had polio. All his toys had to go, but he crawled & saved Slinky Dog, Potato Head, & Andy. He then left to go to Seattle, leaving the toys. That's where he met Andy's mom, & had the kids. Post polio sets in. In bad shape they move back in with his parents. He gives the key to little Andy, tells him of a chest where his best friend will be, & passes away before Andy can come back with the chest. With Andy junior looking exactly like his dad when the toys awaken in the chest they just figure he's Andy Sr., as they have know track of time while asleep. So, there you go, a Toy Story prequel even more sad than Up. It's cool to know that this much thought goes into these stories though. That's shows a lot of love & passion goes into these Pixar films, with every consideration taken. Watch the video if that was interesting. It goes way deeper into everything. Let us know what you think of these revelations in the comments, like, & share.

(UPDATE) : Andrew Stanton, who helped write 1995's Toy Story has dubbed this fake news. Very interesting story though nonetheless.  Who knows if this was really told in the long run. If so, it seems it was an afterthought.

Don't Watch "Cars 3" Without Checking Out This First

ESPN put out this "documentary", 95: The Untold Story Of Lightning McQueen, & it was awesome. I wish this would have played right before Cars 3. This puts the whole film in perspective. Starting with a throwback to the original film. Then, moving into some background into what happened in-between then & now. Go ESPN, Disney*Pixar, & director Morgan Spurlock. I hope this is on the Blu-Ray release.

Can't Wait To Finish This Clip Of "Lou" Today To Start Off "Cars 3"

Disney*Pixar released this clip of "Lou". The story of a toy stealing bully ruining recess, & the only thing in his way is a "Lost & Found" box. Or else whatever is living inside. This is the short featurette directed by Dave Mullins & produced by Dana Murray that will precede Cars 3. I wasn't intrigued until I saw this clip, & now this definitely has piqued my interest.

Disney XD's "Ducktales" Reboot Gets New Theme Song & Release Date

Disney XD released the opening to their new Ducktales reboot, & I've gotta say, this is definitely a great first step. They said they we're going to stay very close to the original, & this shows it. Some of the scenes in this opening are straight out of, or if not extremely paying homage to it's Emmy Award-winning predecessor. Also released, Saturday, August 12th beginning at midnight EDT/PDT, the one-hour television movie premier will debut on Disney XD, & play consecutively for 24 hours. That should be enough time to catch it right? The series will debut with two new episodes Saturday, September 23 at 7am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 8pm, & 10:30pm EDT/PDT. Also available on the Disney XD app & Disney XD VOD on the same dates. So what do y'all think enough nostalgia in there for ya? Let us know in the comments, like, & share. While you're down the let us know which Disney cartoon you'd want to see next if this works? I can't make up my mind whether I want Chip & Dales Rescue Rangers, Tale Spin, or Darkwing Duck.

Pixar Coco's Opening Cartoon Got A Trailer & You're Gonna Want To See It!

The featurette for Coco has released a trailer. Why is this featurette so important as to get a trailer?  Beacause it's Olaf's Frozen Adventure. That's right, everyone's favorite summer lovin snowman is gettin a solo. A short solo, but a solo nonetheless. Featuring four new songs, this will reunite Josh Gad, Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, & Jonathan Groff from the original. It's to be directed by Kevin Deters and Steve Wermers-Skelton and produced by Roy Conli, with the original songs being by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson.  This trailer's really good, with the featurette coming off looking hilarious. It actually made me laugh out loud more than a couple times. Now I'll say something that's going to be really unpopular though. The first time I saw Frozen, I didn't really care for it. It's grown on me a lot since, but even though I didn't care for it, I loved Olaf. He quickly became one if my favorite animated characters. So needless to say, this just gave me another reason to be counting down the days until November 22. Tell us what you thought of this trailer down below, & don't forget to please like & share.

I Thought I Couldn't Get More Excited For "Cars 3" (Newest Trailer)

This trailer is perfect, all the way down to the choice of song. I'll be honest when the first Cars came out I was a naysayer all the way up to the point of the movie's release. I just didn't see what you could possibly make about talking cars that would be worth watching. I was wrong. This wound up becoming, & still is, one of my favorite Pixar films. I couldn't believe how much heart it had. Then the sequel came. I felt as if I got a slapstick, cartoonish version of the original classic as a follow-up. When the third was announced I had no hope. However, since the first teaser trailer of Cars 3, I've been pumped for this. It really looks like they've toned it back & got more into a more down to earth, as real as talking cars can be story. That's what I think got to me about the sequel, it was a spy story, not a cars story. This trailer also wants to remind you this is a Pixar movie as well with some word from the late Paul Newman's Doc Hudson. To stir up the emotions as Pixar does best. What do y'all think of this trailer? Are y'all as excited for Cars 3 as I am? Let us know in the comments, like, & share. Also, don't forget to look for the movie review on Friday.

Entertainment Weekly Dishin Up Some Exclusives On Ducktales

In addition to an exclusive first look at Mary Poppins Returns, EW also has this detailed exclusive on Disney XD's Ducktales reboot coming in August. Now I LOVE me some Ducktales so this one is right up my alley. The new one, described as Indiana Jones mixed with Arrested Development, will stick to it's original adventure formula each week with hints of a bigger picture. This time around though Scrooge & Donald have a past treasure hunting. Through the course we'll find out why that past ended. Also new, Donald's nephews have more character this time around. With Huey (Danny Pudi) being the oldest, more responsible, brains, Dewey (Ben Schwartz) wanting to stand out from the three, & Louie (Bobby Moynihan) just hoping to be the youngest forever. Webby (Kate Miccuci) is also looking to get more screen time this time around with a stronger voice this time around. After this they get into some exclusive character bios. Donald Duck (Tony Anselmo) is an overprotective single parent, that as we mentioned earlier used to go on adventures with Scrooge McDuck (David Tennant). However, that relationship has been severed to the point that the boys don't even know their relation to the famous Scrooge McDuck. By the end of episode 1 though, Donald reluctantly moves in. I love this development, as one of my favorite characters is the angry, unlucky duck that no one can understand. Then there's Gladstone Gander, the "yin" to Donald's "yang". He has the reverse luck of Donald & becomes his & Scrooge's shared nemesis. Gyro Gearloose (Jim Rash) will return with a hipster makeover. Yet, will retain his in-house mad scientist status. We already mentioned in another article his intern Fenton (Lin-Manuel Miranda) who doubles as Gizmoduck. Scrooge will get a equal to himself in the form of Goldie O'Glit (Allison Janney). She share's a contentious relationship with Scrooge that goes back to the Gold Rush. That'll add some really interesting dynamic. Of course, there's the best jailbreakers/ worst criminals Ma Beagle (Margo Martindale) & the Beagle Boys (Eric Bauza). I love all their creative "Get Out Of Jail Free Cards". While we're dealing with "can't do without" characters, there's Flintheart Glomgold (Keith Ferguson) Scrooge's biggest nemesis, described as a go-go 80's billionaire that's bigger, faster, & cheaper, wanting to outdo Scrooge in every way. Their last character bio went to newcomer Mark Beaks (Josh Brenner). He's "new money" representing today's tech industry billionaires, caring more for trending & followers than accumulating wealth. So there it is in a nutshell. I'm really looking forward to this reimagined Ducktales, & from what I'm reading we've got the foundation for a really good new remake that while new will stick to the original formula. What do you think? Will you be traveling to Duckburg in August? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.

Check Out Mary Poppins In Entertainment Weekly

Friday's 6/9 issue of Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive first look at Mary Poppins Returns. I've collaged some of the released pics below, but I'd be pretty sure this won't be it for the issue. It's cool to get a visual of our new Poppins, new companion Jack (Lin-Manuel Miranda) a lamp lighter that was a former apprentice of original's Bert (Dick Van Dyke), & the family they're out to help.  You've got some concept art that looks pretty familiar of Cherry Tree Lane, as well as Jack lighting some lamps & his favorite abandoned park. There's an actual shot of some lamp-lighters looking like they're in or just finished a song & dance number. Then speaking of song we've got the cast together around the piano with Marc Shaiman. He wrote the new score with Scott Whittman.  Director Rob Marshall & John Deluca are seen on the London set with Big Ben in the background. There's also a shot of the family, the kids with Jack & Poppins, & of course the beautiful cover featuring Mary Poppins ever so perfectly. They shed some details on top of these awesome behind the scenes pics too. This will take place 25 years after the first film into London's mid-1930's economic slump. When loving banker & artist Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw) loses his wife, he & his three kids are lost. Aunt Jane (Emily Mortimer) & housemaid Ellen (Julie Walters) can't even bring things back together. What do they need in their lives? Emily Blunt's Mary Poppins. She leads the family on adventures on the top of Big Ben, the bottom of the ocean, & encounters with some animated dancing penguins, as well as an upside-down cousin (Meryl Streep). If they pull this off, it is going to be amazing. According to the article the "filmmakers have dedicated themselves to being as faithful & respectful to the iconic original as possible while still crafting a fresh new family musical." I know I'm going to hold them to that. This synopsis sounds really good to me so far, & these pics look awesome. I can't wait to see a trailer for this, but it's gonna fell like forever as this one's not due till Christmas 2018. Until then, check out this issue. Most importantly though, I want to know what y'all think of all this? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.

Beautiful New Trailer Released For Pixar's Coco

When the poster came out, I had mentioned how everything that comes out for this movie makes it seem as if this will be Pixar's most beautiful film to date musically & visually. This trailer just adds more fuel to that fire. It  does what great trailers do. Instead of more "tease" shots, they build on the teaser. Filling in & building on the shots that they've showed us already. Next, I have to mention the first major stand-out of this trailer as it starts, voiceover. I don't need this in every trailer made, as it got out of hand, but I miss this. A good voiceover is just awesome for some reason. That out of the way, & other than just giving us some more time on what they've already showed us, this one a little different from what we've seen. It doesn't focus on Coco wanting to play music. This trailer seems to put it's focus on the "fish out of water" story, with a living person never being in the land of the dead. With the dead's shock, his shock, & his family trying to help him get out, this seems like it's what's going to be the major portion of the comedy of this movie. Really good trailer.  Still not a worry in the world on this one. This is really shaping up to be one of my most anticipated films this year. Let us know what you think of this trailer in the comments, like, & share.

Pixar's New Coco Poster Is Beautiful

Every single thing I've seen that has to do with this movie so far is making it seem as if this may be the most beautiful film, both visually & musically, Pixar has ever made. This poster is no exception to that. I actually want to hang this on my wall, & that's a lot coming from a man with literal boxes of movie posters. Just when I thought I had soaked it all in I noticed the dead huddled around the reflection in the puddle. I found this whole thing totally moving, & I can't wait for this movie. This is definitely one of my most anticipated films of this year. What do y'all think of this poster? Let me know in the comments below, like, & share.

Happy 85th Birthday Goofy!!!

On this day 85 years ago we were introduced to Dippy Dawg in Mickey's Revue. Years later, & now known as Goofy, this is still one of everyone's favorite three Disney characters. The Goof has starred in a number of classic shorts, some of my favorite being his numerous "how to" videos. Or more notably his "how not to" videos. Then there was The Goofy Movie, which brought Disney back into my life in a time when it was starting to fade due to being a teen. That led to Goof Troop, a series proving it wasn't time to give up on these classic characters, as if used correctly they're timeless. The new Goof has taken more of a comic relief position coming of as the Bill & Ted or Harold & Kumar of the group. Happy Birthday Dippy Dawg, aka The Goof, aka Goofy!!!! Write your favorite Goofy moment in the comments, like, & share.

Sam Mendes In Early Talks For Live-Action Pinocchio

Heard from Collider today that Deadline has Sam Mendes in early talks to direct Disney's live-action Pinocchio, from a script by Rogue One writer Chris Weitz. Apparently Mendes was also in talks to also direct a live-adaption of James & the Giant Peach for Disney which was unmentioned. so no word if that is still a thing or not. Sam Mendes is known for American Beauty, Skyfall, & Spectre. Two of which were great, & as for Spectre, I haven't seen it, but haven't heard great things either. the other two are amazing though keeping me in good spirits for this decision if it happens. I watched the classic animated version of this when it was released recently, & it definitely holds up today. Even a little graphic in spots, but I think that's exactly why it holds up so well. Hopefully this is told faithfully & nothing is held back. As I didn't even remember most of the Pleasure Island sequence. Anyway like & share. Let us know what you think in the comments, & we'll keep up on anything else we hear on this.

Disney XD's New Ducktales Has It's Gizmoduck!

Blatherin Blatherskites!! I remember as a child actually getting disappointed if I didn't hear these words while watching DuckTales. This was the call to arms of Duckburg's resident superhero Gizmoduck, the secret alter ego of Fenton Crackshell-Cabrera, Scrooge Mcduck's accountant. The Wrap reports however, that this time around he will spend his days as an intern for Scrooge's personal mad scientist Gyro Gearloose. This actually makes sense, as it probably makes for an easier transition, considering Gyro Gearloose was the original creator of the Gizmoduck suit in th first place. Disney has announced that Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of Broadway's Hamilton as well as a key in the creation of the soundtrack to Moana, will be voicing Duckburg's version of Robocop. He will be joining the already star-studded cast that includes, David Tennant (Scrooge McDuck), Danny Pudi (Huey), Ben Schwartz (Dewey) Bobby Moynihan (Louie) Kate Micucci (Webby Vanderquack), Toks Olagundoye (Miss Beakley) and Beck Bennett (Launchpad McQuack). They honestly could have annouced anyone in this role, and not to take anything away from Lin-Manuel Miranda, but  I probably wouldn't have cared. The big news for me is the fact that Gizmoduck is included in the first place. DuckTales played a really big part in my childhood. So much so I've introduced my daughters to it via power of DVD, and they love it too. I not only hope they can do this justice, I hope it's so much so that Talespin & Rescue Ranger reboots are quick to follow. Is there anyone else out there as excited as I am about this new DuckTales? If so put your favorite character in the comments, like and share.

Hacked Disney Movie Being Held For Ransom

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Disney CEO Bob Iger has revealed hackers are holding a Disney movie "hostage" for a huge ransom in Bitcoin or else they will release it piece at a time. Iger is working with federal investigators & has stated that Disney won't pay. Later on in the day Deadline revealed that they had learned it was May 26th's upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales that fell victim to this piracy. It won't take Alanis Morrissette to find the irony in that. All joking aside though, this sucks. A lot of people work really hard to get these major motion pictures of the ground, & they all fall victim to a stunt like this. I hope this gets figured out before it becomes a real problem throughout the industry. If you see this film pirated, no matter how much you have to fight the urge, don't watch it. That's the only way I can think to not let these pricks win. Tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Disney Channel Cheerleader-Zombie/Love Story/Musical On The Way

I had to keep checking the calendar to make sure this wasn't an April Fools Joke, but it's definitely May & this is definitely happening. THR reports production has started on Zombies, a Disney Channel Original Movie filled with song & dance numbers, to debut in 2018. Meg Donnelly (American Housewife) & Milo Manheim (Ghost Whisperer) will lead this musical set at Seabrook High School. Where all was good until students transfer in from Zombietown. Yeah, Zombietown. Then cheerleader Addison (Donnelly) & zombie football star Zed (Manheim) fall in love. Now these star-crossed lovers must bring their community together. Even after typing all this out it still doesn't seem real. Directed by Jeffrey Hornaday, choreographed by Cristopher Scott & Hornaday (both of Teen Beach Movie), & executive produced by Effie Brown (Star, Dear White People) & Hornaday, the film will also star Trevor Tordjman (The Next Step), Kylee Russell (Jump In), & Carla Jeffery (Curb Your Enthusiasm). Co-producers David Light & Joseph Raso came up with the story & wrote the script with Josh Cagan (The Duff). If you can't tell by my tone throughout this, I think this is a joke. This sounds like one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. In it's defense though, I thought I would never be interested in High School Musical, & it's one of my favorite musicals now. So though I will keep an open mind, I will not be holding my breath. Is there anybody who thinks otherwise on this one? I would love to hear why in the comments below.
