Finally we have got the teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, the highly anticipated sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Marvel really knows how to do these teasers, but at 2 minutes, 47 seconds, this is more a trailer in my book than a teaser. Even though this highly disrupts the ending of Infinity War, we get some major first looks in this trailer. Jake Gyllenhaal looks like Mysterio just got ripped right out of the pages of the comic book. From what Gyllenhaal & Holland say they will be teaming up against the Elementals in this. Those are the "guys" you see them fighting in this teaser. Each one having control of a different element. Personally, in Mysterio fashion, I think this is just a ruse pulled off with his signature special effects. We also not only get a look at Spidey's new suit, but was that a black Spider-Man noirish suit? If you blink you'll miss it, but it was definitely there. The biggest thing I took out of this trailer though was Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury. Does that cat no how to make an entrance or what? Hands down my favorite part of this trailer. Helluva first tease though. I knew there was a reason this made my top ten anticipated list for this year! What about y'all? Did this move you one way or the other on this? "The Vision And Scarlet Witch" Series Has A Writer/Showrunner
One of the real interesting things announced for the Disney+ streaming service was a slew of Marvel Cinematic Universe series. One of which being The Vision and Scarlet Witch has just took some more steps forward announcing Jan Schaeffer as the writer/showrunner in a Hollywood Reporter exclusive. If that name doesn't ring a bell, she's one if the Captain Marvel writers, & she penned the screenplay for the Black Widow film currently under development. Personally, I'm a little surprised at this lengthy resume, before even Captain Marvel's release, but I'm their faith is well placed in the co-writer of Olaf's Frozen Adventure . Paul Betanny & Elizabeth Olsen are expected to reprise their roles from the films. This in a series which I'm very curious as to the budgets of. Anyway, what do y'all think? Would you like to see an actual track record before this from the showrunner like we have with Favreau & The Mandalorian ? Or do you think this is a good choice, & Marvel must know what they're doing? For that matter, are you excited for a Vision/Scarlet Witch love story in the first place? Personally, I'm a little back & forth on it myself. Their relationship never really did it for me on the books. Hopefully, they can pull it off better in a series. Put your thoughts in the comments though, & don't forget to like & share.
Another Featurette For "Captain Marvel" Shows Pieces Of Larson's Intense Workouts
This was one of the most insane featurettes I've seen Marvel do so far. Mainly because you get a glimpse of the 9+ month workout regimen it took to become Captain Marvel . We tend to forget what these actors/actresses have to go through to become our super heroes. Even this small look made me tired just watching. Like most of these featurettes, you also get a synopsis of the character, along with some behind the scenes with the actors & directors, & a couple quick shots that weren't in the trailers. Some of the quick scenes definitely should've hit the trailer. If that special look earlier didn't have me on board, this definitely did. I've already got my tickets for opening day. Had a little trouble too. If you're in a big area like I am, theaters are filling up fast. Major respect to those involved after seeing this though. Especially Larson, it sounds like she went through a lot for this one. Thoughts? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Marvel Studios' Special Look At "Captain Marvel" Is My Favorite So Far!
Captain Marvel has had its ups & downs with me so far. In the last trailers I mentioned that "powered up" she looked awesome, but otherwise Brie Larson just looked kinda bored. On top of that Samuel L Jackson was stealing the scene left and right. Not the case with this newly released "Special Look". Jackson's still great, but this trailer gave some life to Larson out of full costume. Their back & forth seemed much more natural this time around. Leading me to hope I only felt that way in the first ones due to how the snippets were cut. I absolutely loved the Jukebox scene they put in here, not to mention the SHIELD logo quip. Comedic scenes aside though, this first foray into the cosmic side of the Marvel universe looks pretty intense this time around. You get more looks at her while team as well as some more of the training with Jude Law. Still no clear consensus on Law's character though. I'm still leaning towards Mar-Vell, even with the Yon-Rogg Funko "mishap". I keep thinking that was either misdirection or we're going to get a combination of the characters with the film's release. Making it a huge Spoiler instead. I digress though, back to the trailer. Which is hands down the first one for this film I've absolutely loved start to finish so far. It has totally renewed my excitement for this release. I also can't help but think this isn't as much set up for Captain Marvel in Avengers: Endgame as it is set up for the future of Marvel Studios as a whole. If this is what I think it is, it could be setting us up for the next major event post-Endgame . Those who are enriched in the actual Marvel comics probably already know where I'm going with this, but I think a "Secret Invasion" might've already occurred. Our heroes futures, based on this one's past might just be dealing with the ramifications. Anyways, as of now that's just speculation. So on another note, what did y'all think of this special look? Was it special enough for ya? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
The Trailer Is Here, And Your Title Is "Avengers: Endgame"
Wow..... Wow. Wow. Wow. This trailer was everything I wanted it to be & more. I thought it was just going to be a teaser. Figured it was definitely going to end after Tony/Iron Man's message is space, but no. It just kept going. Finally giving us the title, & yes, it's one of the heavily rumored ones, Avengers: Endgame. This is how you launch off something this big. This gave me goosebumps. In fact, I've never had a preview put me through so many emotions all at once. If you want to know why I wasn't totally feelin' the Captain Marvel trailer, this is why. This is the caliber of trailer we should be at. I should want to jump up & see the film now, & not now, but right now. I could do with just this, & absolutely no more until this film come out. Perfect opening trailer. All the feels, & then ending on a comedic note. Loved it!! I can't even say anything else. Just hurry & come out! What do y'all think? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
New Trailer For Marvel Studio's "Captain Marvel" Debuted Last Night
After finding out that Jude Law is in fact not playing Mar-Vell as everyone previously thought via a Pop Vinyl release, I was really looking forward to this new Captain Marvel trailer. For those who don't know the Pop figure I'm mentioning was named Yon-Rogg. Funny thing is this is the exact opposite of playing Mar-Vell, as he was his nemesis. According to ScreenRant, Marvel was not so happy about this apparent leak, & the Pop figure's name has now been changed to Star Commander. So, still not 100%, but I'm just gonna guess a form a Yonn-Rogg is the safe bet. Anyway, back to the matter at hand, this new trailer. I was a little underwhelmed this time around. Don't get me wrong, I really liked it. I was just expecting to be blown away. In fact besides the last couple of scenes where Captain Marvel's tearing ass through space, I honestly thought Samuel L. Jackson's young Nick Fury totally stole the the trailer. On top of that, it doesn't help Larson almost seems bored at times here. I'm still feel like the finished product is going to be great. This trailer just didn't give me the feeling that most Marvel trailers do. I do feel like this is going to be the most "comic-book" thing we've seen so far in the somewhat grounded reality of the MCU so far. I think this is really going to test what they can do next in the form of expanding the universe into the wide world of weird that is the whole of Marvel comics. Believe me when I say we haven't even scratched the surface of where Marvel can go. So, all in all, I liked the trailer. I was hoping to love it, but it's a just a commercial. No real reflection on the final product. They put out an awesome looking poster though. But really, I'm curious to know, what are y'all's thoughts? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Variety Reports Loki, Scarlet Witch, & More Coming To Disney Streaming
Not sure what to think of this one. With no comment from Marvel or Disney, in a Variety exclusive, early development has begun on a number of Marvel limited series. While name dropping Loki & Scarlet Witch, the article points to Marvel looking at a cast of second tier (no standalone movie) MCU characters for 6 to 8 episode series for their streaming service coming next year. This is where it gets crazy. Apparently the actors from the MCU such as, Tom Hiddleston & Elizabeth Olsen are expected to portray their roles for these series, with Kevin Feige being hands on as well. The budgets, along with anything else really were kept quiet, but if all this is real, the figure must be astronomical for a series. Disney is showing a lot of determination/throwing in tons of money in getting this streaming service to work, & do so as fast as possible. If this is true? They've got my money that they've already had that much more so. This sounds amazing! If this is true, they're finding a way to really make the MCU feel like comic books themselves. Some stories are miniseries, some one shots, & I can't wait to soak up everything i can. So for now let's act like this is happening for sure, & let me know what you think? Are we down for some MCU B-sides? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
"Captain Marvel" Official Trailer Is So Friggin' Here!!
Oh my Celestial!! This Captain Marvel trailer was amazing on so many levels! My excitement level wasn't on an Avengers 4 level for this one, but it sure as Hela is now! Everything I saw got me excited for this one. March 8th is just too far away to do this to me. Just off this trailer alone I can list several things I can't wait to see on top of Captain Marvel herself. The discovering her own origin storyline is intriguing, young Nick Fury seems to be everything I could've possibly hoped for, & Skrulls! Skrulls! A Marvel comic staple. Throw in young Coulson, Jude Law, & that awesome power up sequence? I'm so in! Marvel here, take my money!! Just show me more! March 8th now seems so far away. I can't wait! What did y'all think? Finally Got To Really Look At EW's "Captain Marvel" Spread
Took me a couple days, but among clearing out boxes & getting everything going in our new spot, I got to check out EW's exclusive first look at Marvel's upcoming "Captain Marvel". Where Brie Larson will be taking on the role of Carol Danvers the half human, half Kree superhero said to be the most powerful we've seen in the MCU so far. Set in the 90s, this film will not be an origin story. Though I'm sure we'll get filled in some way, this will start with Carol already having her powers. She's already left Earth & is part of elite military unit known as Starforce on the Kree planet of Hala. This is where we'll run into the return of Korath, Djimon Hounsou, returning from Guardians of the Galaxy and Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan). This is also where we'll get introduced to Jude Law as the commander of Starforce. He's sees Carol as a "mentee & pet project". They'll be going up against sworn enemy of the Kree, the green, shapeshifting Skrulls. With Ben Mendelsohn playing their leader, Talos. He uses said shapeshifting skills to infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D., where he comes up against a de-aged Samuel L Jackson as 90s Nick Fury, Two-eyed Desk Jockey. Speaking of throwbacks, we'll also see the return if Ronan. Who will be not quite the crazed heretic from Guardians of the Galaxy. Instead he's a high ranking member of Kree society. This was also accompanied by several exclusive pics, I've bunched them together below. My favorite of which has to be the young Sam Jackson shot. Followed by the Skrulls & Ronin shots. That doesn't take away from Ms. Danvers either. Larson looks absolutely amazing in this suit. Even on that cheesy as all what cover shot she manages to still almost pull it off. I'm totally psyched for this. Mainly, I want this to amp my already insane levels of excitement for Avengers 4 , & if judging by just these shots & snippets from EW alone? I think we just might get that. What do y'all think though? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
So.. About Gunn & "Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3"....
I'm currently in full move mode. That's the main reason I've been barely here. I find myself with a little time to think though. So I figured I'd address this whole James Gunn debacle I've been trying to avoid. If you've managed to miss all this, James Gunn made a series of horrible, total bad taste jokes that I'm not even going to revisit here. However, these were made almost 10 years ago, & had since been apologized for. Fast forward to now, & due to a strong political stance, this information has been resurfaced online to damage Gunn's character. Let the show begin. It worked. Disney immediately severs ties with Gunn. Something I felt was kinda strange if you factor in the questionable things that have been said in the past by a lot of Disney actors. Anyway, the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy rally behind their director. They put out a letter in support of his rehire. Dave Bautista being the most outspoken, at one point all but asking out of his contract. Even Bobcat Goldthwait came out of nowhere asking Disney to remove his voice from an upcoming attraction using his character from Hercules. Stating he knows he's said some questionable things. Told them to check James Woods rep as well. This is where I realized this was going to take awhile to unfold. And it did. Petitions were written. Arguments were all around. Marvel Studios made a plea to Disney to reinstate Gunn. Now for the next foreseeable future Gunn's out, his script's in, & Guardian's of the Galaxy Vol 3 is on full hold without a director. Although it's heavily rumored Taika Waititi may direct. Which seems like the obvious choice, though just not James Gunn. I've been watching this all unfold while moving, & it's pretty troubling. I mean, like I said horrible, distasteful jokes, but does this mean no one should ever get to be redeemed? Apologies were made. This was past. I do fully understand both sides of this. We're stuck in an environment where this could effect the bottom line. The company has to make a decision on that line. This happened way before Gunn & Marvel Studios were a thing though. I get distancing yourself from something that happens while under contract, but doing so for happenings before that agreement seems a little overboard. I feel like this decision is going to come back to haunt them. Gunn at one point was going to help shape the Marvel Cosmic Universe. Not to mention with Vol 3 on hold, what's this do to the MCU lineup as a whole? These films have a planned order. One of the main things that helps them flow so well. How much does this throw off the order? On top of this I don't even want to think about the biggest loss.... Awesome Mix Vol 3. Gunn has put together two of the best soundtracks of all time. I'm really going to miss his setup for 3. All in all, I feel like we lost more than we gained. I won't say this is a shot at free speech. I'll say again, horrible things said. This is more a shot at reformation & redemption. I just feel one shouldn't have to wear a "Scarlet Letter" forever. Especially for words. Anyway, that's my two cents on all this. Would love to know everyone else's thoughts. Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Nick Fury & Maria Hill To Join "Spider-Man: Far From Home"
A lot of dust is returning to the Marvel universe for Spider-Man: Far From Home . Spider-Man will not be the only victim of Thanos's snap to appear in the sequel to the Sony/Marvel collaboration Spider-Man: Homecoming . He will be joined by Samuel L Jackson & Cobie Smulders' Nick Fury & Maria Hill, Agents of SHIELD. I saw this on Vulture earlier, & thought, "that's kinda out of left field." Then I thought about how big the connection between Spider-Man & Nick Fury was in Marvel's Ultimate Universe. He pretty much took the role of MCU Tony Stark in those Bendis fueled stories. There was some great back & forth between those two, that will totally shine on the big screen. I've actually gotten more & more excited about this the more I thought about it. Between this & Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio, I'm getting pretty excited for July 5th. Love to know what y'all think though. Put it in the comments, like, & share.
"Black Widow" Solo Film Now Has A Director
Collider announced Cate Shortland beat out "approximately 75" other directors trying to nab the standalone Black Widow film. Featuring Scarlett Johansson leather clad, spy slash only non-powered Avenger out of 2. Now, nothing else is known about this film at all. Not even a date, but Collider thinks it a safe bet for 2020. It's also speculated it will be a prequel, exploring Widow's past. This is where I wanted to drop in my own two cents. The prequel idea would be cool, but I'm hoping they'll approach it from a past, off screen past, & now kinda thing. Where something post Avengers, follows through all of Avengers as we know offscreen, then affects wherever she is during this film we're speaking of now. That would be my perfect Black Widow film. Knowing Marvel Studios, it will at least live up to that, or completely blow it away. Anyway, anyone else have any ideas how to make a relevant Black Widow film? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Introducing Ant-onio Banderas! New "Ant-Man & The Wasp TV Spot
I feel so bad for laughing at this new TV spot for Ant-Man & the Wasp . Ant-thony's death in the first one was a very emotional moment. I'm guessing we're not taking the ant's lives that seriously this time around. That's okay too. This was friggin hilarious. I've heard good & great things from the premiere so far. I'm getting really excited for this one. The trailers so far have been way more hit than miss. This one was no exception. What do y'all think? Funny, or to soon to mock ant deaths still? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Tom Holland Gets Script For New Spider-Man Film, Only Leaks Title
Tom Holland has been known to let some things slip when it comes to movie spoilers. So when I saw on Instagram that he'd recieved the script for the sequel to Spider-Man Homecoming , I figured I'd wait over the weekend to see of we got more than the title. Alas, we did not. We do now know it's titled Spider-Man: Far From Home though. Probably a nod to reports already telling us this film will take Spidey abroad, but Feige went on to announce like the first, this one has multiple meanings. Which immediately makes me remember that this will be one of the first films chronologically to deal with the fallout of Avengers 4 . Whatever it will be called. Can't believe we got this title before that one. It really must be something special. John Campea also mentioned the what I thought was just the inevitable new costume the other day. Thinking about what he said with the name of the film. It seems a little more of a big deal. He mentioned this suit as a coming of manhood to an extent. Also a form of "far from home". The name's as good as Homecoming was. In which, it's a name. As much as I loved the first movie, that title just never really stuck for me. This one's kinda the same. It's not a bad name, but it doesn't just grab me by title alone either. Movie's still probably going to be great again. I'll just probably once again forget the surname, & go with Spider-Man 2. Or something to that extent. That's me, what do y'all think though? Put it in the comments, like & share.
Two Big Revelations From "Ant-Man & The Wasp" Featurette
Who Is The Wasp? is the newest featurette for Marvel's upcoming sequel, Ant-Man & the Wasp. most of it just deals with reintroducing everyone to Hope, her mother Janet, & the Wasp mantle they'll share. However, I took two major reveals out of this video. One was Scott saying he saw Janet while in the Quantum Realm. We had been hearing he gets a signal from her, but not this. He actually sees a trapped in the Quantum Realm Janet, & she looks pretty mobile still on top of that. The other thing was Feige's mention of how important these characters will be to Avengers 4 . Which let's me know there will be a lot riding on this films end credits. Personally, I'm convinced we haven't seen the end of characters turning to dust. Giving Scott some extra stakes as we round the corner to settle the effects of Avengers: Infinity War . Anyway, those are the biggest things I got out of this featurette. Those, & the reminder that with Wasp's addition, we now have all the original Avengers on screen. Friggin awesome. What do y'all think of these couple of revelations though? Pumped for Ant-Man & the Wasp? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Apparently, The MCU Has All Led To This...
This trailer is hilarious! This is set up for Ant-Man & the Wasp tickets going on sale tomorrow, announcing that everything you know & every experience has all led to this. So far, every single time I have any little doubts about this movie they put out a spot I absolutely love. This caught me so off guard. I knew there was going to be a punch line, but that was great. And then it just kept giving the more that came out. Great set up for the desk. I will definitely be grabbing tickets tomorrow. How bout y'all? Put your thoughts in the comments, like, & share.
"Ant-Man & The Wasp" Delivers Some Interesting Character Posters
These character posters just got released for Marvel's upcoming Ant-Man & the Wasp, & I immediately noticed a couple things. The first was Wasp's costume. I may just be somewhat colorblind, but this is the first I've noticed her costume is blue. I even went back & rewatched the trailers. It reads way darker in those. Not that I care either way, just couldn't believe how much it popped on the poster. Two more of these posters caught my eye as well, with the rest basically just being standard. One was the inclusion of Lawrence Fishburne. I don't know if that's just because he's Lawrence Fishburne, or if it means that we'll be seeing more Goliath than I initially thought. I've loved Fishburne since he was Larry. So, giving him more screen time is a win for me. Always ready to add more heroes or villains to the Marvel universe as well. The second, & possibly main thing I noticed though, was how pissed off Michelle Pfeiffer looks. She's been trapped in the Quantum Realm for awhile. So I wouldn't expect her to he thrilled, but that's some determined anger on her face. That could mean nothing, but I'm all the sudden not the most trusting when it comes to this reunion. That's just me though. Anyone else have thoughts on these? Or thoughts on my insights? Put em in the comments, like, & share.
Mixed Feelings On The TV Spots For "Ant-Man & The Wasp
The past week has brought us a couple new TV spots for Marvel's upcoming Ant-Man & the Wasp . The first of which I was not into at all. The list joke was okay until the end. Definitely not something I'd use for a trailer, & the "save the world" part seemed to drag on a corny joke. A corny joke that would have been a little improved if cut short, ending at the 2A part. This had me a little worried. I loved the first film & liked the trailers for the sequel up to this point. The funny in this film highly matters though, so it needs to be on point. So when we got this next TV spot over the weekend, the "Wassup?" joke in the beginning kept my concerns going. That joke was dated when Scary Movie 2 used it. Does anybody really remember those guys anymore. They give the right response. Just will anybody get it now? I was put right back on though, with the "I eat people" line. That actually made me laugh out loud. All in all I'm thinking this one is really going to be hit & miss with the jokes. It looks like they're amping up the action this time around though. We'll see if that can balance everything out. For that matter we're just talking trailers. I've seen bad films with good trailers & vice versa. I'm honestly just looking forward to a little getaway from the effects of Infinity War , before we have to get psychologically ready for what comes next. Anyway, mixed feels on the TV spots. Concerns, but nothing to turn me away at all. Or really even get me too worried right now, for that matter. What are y'all's thoughts? Put em in the comments, like, & share.
Marvel's "Eternals" Are Coming
In a THR report via Collider, Matthew and Ryan Firpo, whose spec script Ruin was featured at the top of the 2017 Black List, has been hired by Marvel to adapt The Eternals. The story beginning millions of years ago when Celestials genetically experimented on humans, creating the super-powered and near immortal beings the Eternals, and their monstrous counterparts the Deviants. This was originally Jack Kirby's invention, which I'm only vaguely familiar with. It was retold later by Neil Gaiman. That happens to be the iteration I own in Graphic form. It's an amazing story, dig into the roots of the whole Marvel universe. That said, this is gonna be hard to pull off. If Guardians of the Galaxy was a hard sell, this is way more out there than that. If anything was going to try to raise the stakes higher than Infinity War or what's to come next, Eternals definitely raises the bar. I can't wait to see how this one all unfolds. Writers are a big first step. What do y'all think? Familiar with Eternals ? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
Where Was "Ant-Man & The Wasp"? New Trailer Debuts
One of the really big or small questions, depending how you look at it, during Avengers: Infinty War was, where was Ant-Man during all the chaos. Short answer is house arrest, but in the first video to announce the trailer the Avengers cast had a little fun with that question. Underneath that video is the new trailer that just dropped today. I gotta say this trailer felt refreshing after the events of Avengers: Infinity War. After all that intensity this feels like relaxing after a hard day's work, & that's crazy to say considering this trailer looks like it totally amped up the action from the first outing. They also look like they heard the memo that we all want more Michael Pena. The real standout to me though, is this looks like Wasp might steal the whole show. Ant-Man might wind up her comic relief. Even though do seem to be getting a lot of giant Ant-Man, this trailer seems to be all her. We also get to see more of Ghost though. Our antagonist this time around. From what I do know, this is a pretty intriguing character. Mostly dealing in industrial espionage, this film fits the character perfectly. I really love how they handle the phasing effect. I thought the first film was amazing. They were going for a perfect blend of comedy with superhero, & they completely nailed it. Judging from this trailer they're about to do it again. Loving the Goliath cameo!! Anyway, great trailer, that's the new poster beneath it. I think it even gives more of a Wasp takes front vibe too, but we'll just have to see. I'll be there July 6th. Will y'all? Put it in the comments, like, & share.
