Michael K. Wiliams Cut From Whatever We're Going To Call The Han Solo Movie

Am I the only person starting to wish a week could go by without hearing bad news from the upcoming Han Solo movie? And while I'm asking questions, why do we still not know what this thing is called? It's a mess, & this bit is just another example of such. In a Deadline exclusive Michael Kenneth Williams (The Night Of, The Wire) has now had his role cut from the upcoming stand-alone. With Ron Howard doing extensive reshoots, he needed Williams to come back. However, Williams schedule will not allow any leeway until the end of November. Considering this would push back the release date they had to, in his words, "...clip-clip-clip". He was to play a half-human, half-animal character he described as a "kick-ass character". I'm not going to jump to conclusions, but this whole movie is starting to feel forced. Almost to the extent of stubbornly. I'm going to trust the decision for now as it could be a small, insignificant part, that's easily cut out & replaced. It's a shame, I enjoy Michael K. Williams in everything he pops up in. This whole ordeal that is the untitled Han Solo, is starting to really warrant a movie about the making of the movie though. Michael seemed like there wasn't any bad blood & even mentioned he doesn't think his not being in the Star Wars family is final. We'll still have to wait until May 25th, 2018 to see if this ting can be put back together. Until then what do y'all think? Is this thing starting to look like Humpty Dumpty? Obi-Wan Kenobi Movie Announced With Rumors Of More Things To Come

I'm still not sure why Lucasfilm decided to go with a Han Solo film as the stand-alone follow up to Rogue One. If they would've been taking bets, my money would've been on something a little more Jedi-y. Even though I was wrong on that one, it looks like that's the direction we're going now. In a THR exclusive, Oscar-nominated, Stephen Daldry is in early talks to helm an Obi-Wan Kenobi stand-alone. This has been my most anticipated of all the rumored "Anthology" (Not Prequel) Star Wars films. Don't give up on those rumors by the way, as the article mentions Lucasfilm also considering Yoda & Boba Fett films, with Collider later even mentioning a Jabba the Hutt picture. Those sound pretty cool too, but they're only in "consideration stage" so we'll get back to Obi-Wan. Ewan McGregor, who played Kenobi in the Prequels (Many say the best part of them.), has expressed interests already in returning to the character. However, the sources wanted to emphasize that no actor or script is attached. That being said, Lucasfilm, (Because you're totally reading this...) you have to do this with McGregor. It's an obvious choice, that if not made will make me question the whole thing. Unless we're doing an Obi-Wan as a kid thing, in which I'd also have to question that as well. I think a film set on Tatooine while doing his hermit thing would be amazing, & Ewan falls at the perfect age for it. Only time will tell from here, but I already am more excited for this than Solo. Most importantly however, what do y'all think? Do you want to see this one? Is there one you'd rather see from the list of considerations? For that matter, is there something you'd want instead of all the above? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Death Star To Make an Appearance In Han Solo Film?

Ron Howard put up this pic of a Death Star trooper helmet with the caption "The Empire Looms Large". This has head many to believe that the planet-killing Death Star will be making yet another appearance in the upcoming Han Solo film. This immediately caught me off guard. One reason is because I was under the impression we were going back a little further than that. The other is considering Han is pretty surprised by the notion of the giant space-station when first seen in A New Hope. Meaning at most, if it appears it will be outside of Solo's presence most likely. Leaving me to think, why have it at all? Then I thought, what if those helmets were used for all space-station operation. The Empire was a machine. If those were just used for operators they would probably be used for operators in many space-stations. Just a thought, we won't know for sure until this things released. So until then what do y'all think? Death Star or another station? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

It's Been About Time For Another Star Wars Blip

You know how much I love these Star Wars: Blips. This time in an episode titled The Chase, BB-8 teams up with the mighty Chewbacca. These are so much fun. I think I have more fun with these than I did with Forces of Destiny. Keep these coming, they're great. Not much more to say considering it now took you longer to read this than to watch the blip. So, what do y'all think? Keep the Star Wars: Blips coming? Which one has been your favorite so far? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.

New Details, Character Motivations, & Pictures Are Coming In As We Get Closer To "Star Wars: The Last Jedi"

We're getting more plot details to the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi as we inch closer to December. First from Variety, where John Boyega (Finn) tells them the Resistance isn't in the best condition. The most telling tidbit came next though, with him going on to say, "It's a chance for each character to decide what side they're fighting for. It's an epic dark story. At the same time it's still fun. It's still Star Wars." I can only take this as everything we saw in The Force Awakens is suspect. There has to be a reason to say this. Therefore, someone or ones not exactly sure they are on the right side. This is intriguing as it backs up a lot of fan-theories going around the interweb. That however, brings us to Entertainment Weekly's 2-part cover story where they mention it might be John Boyega's Finn wanting out of the resistance. Not for any nefarious reasons. More because it's pretty dangerous being part of a militant resistance if you didn't know. However, when he meets Kelly Marie Tran's Rose, he's a hero now. In which, it seems to be the theme of this film is meeting rather disappointing heroes. This brings us to the main part of the EW cover story, because I save the best for last. Luke Skywalker. We get some teasing about whether or not Luke actually knows who Rey is. The most interesting part to me though comes in the form of what got Luke to be the morose hermit we saw in the previews calling for the Jedi's end. That's a far cry from the optimistic farmboy that overthrew the Empire. What happened between Return of the Jedi & The Force Awakens? A little insight to this is given with, “[Luke] made a huge mistake in thinking that his nephew was the chosen one, so he invested everything he had in Kylo, much like Obi-Wan did with my character,” Hamill says. “And he is betrayed, with tragic consequences. Luke feels responsible for that. That’s the primary obstacle he has to rejoining the world and his place in the Jedi hierarchy, you know? It’s that guilt, that feeling that it’s his fault, that he didn’t detect the darkness in him until it was too late.” The rest of this article paints out a Luke Skywalker that is filled with doubt, hoping to find deep down the hero of the rebellion. There's also two more parts to the cover story that feature the mo-capped Dark Side mentor Snoke's Praetorian Guards, that are similar to the Royal Guard of the Emperor. (Hopefully they'll get some action though.) As well as, a shot of Chewie with one of the adorable Porgs of Achc-to, the planet where Rey found Luke doing his hermit thing. I love penguins so obviously I'm crazy about these, & will probably own one in many forms. Those pics will be collaged at the bottom. My mind is racing with how this will all play out though. Is Luke gonna make it though, will he still be good if he does, will Rey continue to the light or fall to the dark, or for that matter will Kylo Ren redeem himself in some amazing way? So many questions, & not too long before we get some answers. What do y'all think about all this though? Any thoughts on who will be on what side come the end of this? Put 'em in the comments, like, & share.

Re-Write for "Star Wars: Episode IX"!?!

What's going on with the Star Wars Universe? There's the excruciatingly extensive reshoots for Rogue One, directors being fired from the untitled Han Solo film, the fact that we are still calling it the untitled Han Solo film, & now a re-write for the script of the upcoming, also untitled Star Wars: Episode IX. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jack Thorne will re-write the script for the upcoming cap to the current main-story trilogy. Thorne best known for a lot of British television shows, the upcoming Wonder, & the stage play Harry Potter & the Cursed Child. Out of all this, I'm most familiar with Potter. However, reading plays is not my cup of tea, so I still haven't made it through the book. I have not really heard great things from people that have. I haven't heard bad things, just more of a "meh", type attitude towards it. This does worry me a little, but so far this new Lucasfilm has been two for two, three for three if you count Star Wars: Rebels (I do). Part of me really wants to see that original story, before the tragic loss of Carrie Fisher. Just to see how much detouring has to be done. Originally it was said that Princess Leia was to have a big part in that film. I have no reason so far to doubt that they'll pull it off in the long run. It is kinda crazy though, how much trouble these Star Wars films have been to develop. What do y'all think? Starting to worry? Or is this not as serious as knowing what the upcoming Han Solo is called? Put it in the comments, like, & share.

Trying To See How Many Different Characters One Can Be In A Single Galaxy, Warwick Davis Confirmed For Untitled Han Solo

I'm starting to feel like they're not going to tell us the name of this movie until we've already paid for it, & are sitting in the theaters. Last week EW reported Ron Howard's confirmation of Warwick Davis to the film. If this was a Marvel film we would be wondering if he was a Watcher, as the rumor goes for Stan Lee. I only say this because this will mark his fifth time appearing in the Star Wars universe. Debuting at 11 as the Ewok, Wicket, he's also made appearances in The Phantom Menace, The Force Awakens, & Rogue One. I loved Warwick Davis for probably all my years watching movies. Jedi is probably the first movie I remember seeing in a theater, & Willow is actually one of my favorite movies. Lucky guy, he's in a position to be able to appear in these films that started his career in the first place, & be totally different characters. Anyway, great addition, can we just get a name for this thing? May 25th, 2018. We've got less than a year & don't know what to call this thing. Write some name ideas down in the comments, like & share

Still No Name, Untitled Han Solo Film Has A Composer

I had been hearing that this had happened, but to be honest, my knowledge of composers is slim. I can probably name four, recognize a couple more if I hear their names, & I'm sure I'll think half of what I hear is John Williams. Keeping with the spirit of first names though, another John, John Powell, will compose the score this time around for the young, scruffy looking nerf-herder. If that means nothing to you don't sell yourself short, you're not the only one. It took me watching Collider the next day to find out I do remember this guy's work, even if I don't know his name. While I don't remember the music of the Bourne series or Kung Fu Panda, I do recall being blown away by the Academy Award winning music of How To Train Your Dragon. It really stood out to me during the film, & probably is the sole reason I actually remember that non-Disney animated motion picture. I've noticed that I really enjoy some of the other animated pictures out there. However, most non-Disney animated films seem to not have the lasting impression on me that Disney provides. Anyway, in my limited knowledge of composers, & my first thought being "that's not John Williams", I at least know there is something this guy worked on that I enjoyed thoroughly. They did also mention that this will stay true to the spirit of Star Wars, while retaining Powell's "distinctive voice". So it will probably still seem pretty familiar. When are they going to get a name for this thing though? Let us know what you think of this addition down in the comments, like, & share.

If You Haven't Watched The Behind-The-Scenes Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer, Why Not?

This is even better than the teaser trailer, & that stops me in my tracks still whenever I see it playing. I'm usually one who likes to see behind-the-scenes things, just not as promotional material. This did it right though. They managed to make a behind-the-scenes feel like a trailer. With looks at all kinds of new species throughout the galaxy, some of the new characters with some of the old, & real sets that actually blow up. That's what it was that did it for me now that I really think about it. The use of practical sets & actual explosions. Digital Effects are awesome, but I feel they're even better when used as a "seasoning", just sprinkled over already created actual, physical effects to blend the illusion. I can't wait to see this movie. Check out this trailer, let me know what you think in the comments below, like & share.

Latest "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" Episodes Seem To Have Something In Common

Now we have two more episodes of the ongoing Star Wars: Forces of Destiny shorts. This time they take place on the same planet in the same general area. That being said, with who's involved I would almost think these also take place at roughly the same, if not, the same time. The first one, titled The Stranger pits Jyn Erso against some stormtroopers in an attempt to rescue a little girl's cat. That description alone almost speaks volumes for this episode. This definitely ranks with the Hoth episode in terms of throwaway, even if it is a little more enjoyable. That could be in part to kitty cuteness though. It does at least build on the character of Jyn Erso though. As she helps this kid, whom she doesn't know at all, at great risk to herself. That in itself does score a couple of extra points for this short, placing it above the Endor & Hoth episodes in my book. The next short, titled Bounty of Trouble, I really enjoyed. This one has Sabine Wren staging a kidnapping of Princess Leia to pass off stolen Imperial Plans. So far this is the one that has felt most worthy of having the title Star Wars. I could see this scenario starting off a scene in Rebels. Speaking of which, that's where I feel this series, once again, failed by missing a great spot to tie this in to the already established lore. I think they're really missing an opportunity here. If saying you want more of something is my only complaint though, they had to have done something right with this one. I really hope if they keep doing these, they stay with more stories like this one. That not only seem to fit the universal tone, but can also be tied in somewhere to the bigger picture. So all in all, I'll say I enjoyed 1n a half of both of these. What did y'all think? Let us know down in the comments, like & share.

"Star Wars Forces of Destiny" Latest Episode Probably Best So Far

So, all in all I haven't been too impressed with the Star Wars: Forces of Destiny shorts. In defense they're not for me. They're cute & more for small kids, but when this first got announced, I was under the impression the female side of the Star Wars galaxy was really going to get a significant place to shine. That being said, I'd figured these would feature some major moments for the ladies. I was a little let down when I saw them. I had to realize they were more for yucks, than to further the narrative. This latest one however, titled The Imposter Inside, feels like it would have started off an episode of Clone Wars. Featuring Ahsoka & Padme having a run in with a shapeshifting assassin, like the one seen in Attack of the Clones. Once again, no major impact on the Star Wars universe. This one at least, felt like it fit in there. In fact, this was the first one of these I watched that I wanted more of. I'm hoping this is a signal that they've saved the best for last. What did y'all think of this one? Am I wrong for expecting some substance to these, even though they're just shorts? Let me know in the comments, like, & share.

Flashback To Leia On Hoth In Another "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" Episode

Beasts of Echo Base is the title of the latest release from the Star Wars: Forces of Destiny mini-series of shorts. Like many of the others this is silly with no real bearing at all on the Star Wars universe. I'm sure my 4 yr. girl is going to love this, & I guess that was what they were going for in the first place, but man. Some of these really feel dumbed down way too much though. I'm really hoping they are saving the bests for last, but I've almost gave up on any real character development out of these. I'm really curious as to how others are receiving these. Let me know in the comments, like, & share.

Two More Episodes Released Of "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" & I Just Want More

Episode 3 & 4 of the female-centric Star Wars: Forces of Destiny were released, & I can't help but feel like I want more out of this series. Episode 3, Ewok Escape, takes place as Wicket leads Princess Leia to the Ewok village. They come across some stormtroopers on the way, & in a nutshell Leia learns that the little bears are pretty capable. This was a cute short. It fills in a small spot in Jedi, which is pretty cool. Just insignificant really. I keep thinking about how bad I wanted these to actually mean something significant to the Star Wars lore. So far they're just cute throwaways. Leading me to Episode 4, The Padwan Path. This was probably the most disappointing to me. When I saw Ahsoka in the original trailer for these I was very excited. I'm taking into consideration that might be why I was so let down. You get a story of Ahsoka as a padwan running into some trouble while trying to make a ceremony with Anakin & Yoda in time. This could have been I perfect time to throw in a little tease of life in-between leaving Anakin & the Order, & returning to face Vader. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, do yourself a favor & watch Clone Wars & Rebels. You're Welcome.) Anyway, there's still more of these to go to right the ship's course. Am I wanting too much outta these though? Let me know what y'all think down below in the comments, like, & share.

"Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" Showing Potential In Second Episode

The second episode showcasing the women of Star Wars was released, & I liked it more than the first. That being said, the first episode is needed to set this episode up. Leading me to almost think they should have just came out together. This one, titled BB-8 Bandits, picks up after the Sands of Jakku, right as Rey is about to take BB-8 to the Niima Outpost in The Force Awakens. Speaking of which, do you remember Teedo? If not, that was the guy in The Force Awakens that had BB-8 tied up in his net when Rey came across them. Well according to this, he didn't take so kindly to losing his prize. He comes back with some friends giving us the titled BB-8 bandits. In the process of trying to grab back the little droid we come back full circle to that first, seemingly throwaway episode. Anyway, this one showed a lot of potential for the future of this series. Can't wait for more now. What did y'all think though? Are y'all feelin the Star Wars girl power? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.

First Episode Of "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny" Debuts

The first episode of Star Wars: Forces of Destiny debuted today. Titled Sands of Jakku, this short takes place right after the initial meet-up of Rey & BB-8 "in-between the lines" of The Force Awakens. Out of all the clips I had seen in the trailer, this was the one that least interested me. It turns out I was right, as this is nothing that's going to further any story along. However, this was made in the name of "girl power" to attract young girls to Star Wars, & in that it succeeds. My about to be 4 year old daughter loved this. BB-8 is her favorite thing in life, so this was right up her alley. It is a cute short too, don't get me wrong. It's just more Blip than Clone Wars or Rebels. I'm hoping as we get into more of these they have more of a significance to the whole picture. As opposed to little shorts holding no actual meaning in the Star Wars galaxy. Anyway, check it out, I would love to know what you think. Put it down below, like, & share.

Who Says Star Wars Isn't For Girls With Trailer For "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny"

July 3rd on YouTube.com/Disney & July 9th on the Disney Channel, the galaxy far, far away get injected with some "girl power". Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, an original series of short stories featuring Rey, Jyn Erso, Princess Leia, Sabine Wren, Padme Amidala, Ahsoka Tano & other females of the Star Wars galaxy. After watching this preview I'm definitely excited this. Especially the Leia/Sabine Mission & I'll take any & everything you can give me involving Ahsoka Tano. Funny story, I couldn't stand Ahsoka when she first debuted. Now however, after watching all of Clone Wars, & then Rebels, I'm even on board for the book. Ahsoka is an awesome character, that I'm glad is really getting some attention as of late. Anyway, trailer's awesome. I wasn't that stoked for this until now. What do you think? Which character peaks your interest most? Let us know I the comments, like, & share.

Untitled Han Solo, I'm Getting A Bad Feeling About This

This Han Solo thing just seems to be on an unending downhill slope. With bad news just pouring from this film, now according to Screenrant, THR, in a write-up on problems plaguing Solo from the start, mentions Lucasfilm hired an acting coach late in production for Ehrenreich to get a better performance. Ouch. Not something you want to hear from a film that we're already hearing some nightmarish scenarios out of. It's not out of the norm to hire an acting coach, but it is strange late in the game. They do make sure to mention Lucasfilm used the words "not entirely satisfied". Which does leave room to think that it wasn't a total loss. I mean, they liked it enough to invest in a coach. If there's a silver lining to all this, at least all parties seem to know that they have to get Han Solo right, whether or not the film itself is good or bad. So, is it time to worry? Let us know your thoughts in the comments, like, & share.

Han Solo Alden Ehrenreich "Shot First"

Watching Collider & apparently in a report from Starwarsnewsnet.com our new Han Solo, Alden Ehrenreich was the first to bring it to the producers that the screwball comedy direction Lord & Miller were going in was changing the tone & story of the film. A source even went as far to describe it as "oddly comparable to Jim Carrey's performance in Ace Ventura at times." This info caused the higher ups to check everything out, & we know what happened next. I can't blame this guy. He's already in a no win situation. He's gotta live up to one of the most iconic characters to ever be on film. Not only that, if this thing goes all pear shaped he will be the one to take all the blame. Not saying that's fair, but that's what will happen. On another note, I still can't help but think. "What the hell is Ron Howard getting handed to him?" Is this thing salvageable? Or do they just scrap months of shooting, & restart? This is all the sudden becoming a movie of it's own. I'm sure the behind the scenes features on the Blu-Ray are going to be pretty interesting. Let me know your thoughts down below.

Star Wars Untitled Han Solo Film Has Ron Howard Stepping In To Direct

After severing ties with Lord & Miller over creative differences we later learned were ongoing throughout filming the untitled Han Solo film has tapped former Happy Days alum, & very accomplished director Ron Howard. Best known for Splash, Cocoon, Willow, Apollo 13, & many more amazing films, he will take the helm after three or so months of shooting have already been completed. The release date unchanging, it's makes me wonder how much of this will be saved? I mean, these directors have two totally different styles. I'm hoping this doesn't feel like two separate movies mashed together now. At least no one will get worried about reshoots now, because I can pretty much guarantee those will be a thing. I was already worried about a flashback to this already classic, almost untouchable character. I won't start the emergency sirens yet, but let's just say as much as I love Ron Howard as a director, I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this. Let me know what you think? Is there trouble on the horizon for Han Solo or not? Let us know in the comments, like, & share.
